I went to an event where I was able to discover and sample Nikki's Chocolates. The owner was very friendly and professional. Her products are made in a professional kitchen in a beautiful building in downtown Buffalo. I loved her red velvet cupcakes, the cupcakes were evenly cooked, fluffy and moist. Exactly what you want in a cupcake. I also tried her chocolate covered peanut clusters and chocolate covered pretzels. Yummy! Since then I have used Nikki's Chocolates to send a friend Birthday gift basket and another time I sent a gift basket to a friend I wanted to give a little cheer. Nikki's Chocolates made the process easy and everything was delivered with no issues or concerns. I love to support our small business owners in our community and I hope you do the same. :)

I ordered a cake for my aunt to be delivered. Everything went perfectly!! I can't recommend Nikki's Chocolates enough. I am so grateful for the process as I live in a different state and it's hard for me get local businesses to deliver to family in Buffalo. I will definitely order again! Here's my aunt's review (she doesn't have a yelp but wanted me to write this) Best Birthday cake - this is a vanilla (white) cake with buttercream frosting. It was incredibly delicious and moist with scrumptious flavor. The texture was perfect, and the cake was easy to cut. The decorations were beautiful and lit up the room. What a wonderful find inside the Chandler multipurpose building. Even though Nikki features chocolates, hence the name Nikki's chocolate WNY. There is so much more to this great dessert shop. First off, your greeted by the owner Nikki and her contagious smile. Then your introduced to her different varieties of chocolates. After that you see a mini fridge case of cake cups (strawberry shortcake/banana pudding), and cupcakes. Nikki's chocolates also offers made to order cakes, and many other varieties of cupcakes. Banana pudding cup (not shown)- was good and the cup was pack with goodness. Strawberry shortcake cup- amazing taste and the cake was delicious. Another shop that's been on my list forever. It's in the same building as The Sweet Whisk, but both are a must-visit, with somewhat different offerings. Here you will find truffles, chocolate covered oreos and oreo pops, and chocolate covered pretzels. I think they have chocolate bombs, too. I picked up a couple sets of salted caramel truffles, $6 a piece for 3 truffles. They are heart-shaped for Valentine's Day, and available in adorable conversation heart containers. Obviously their offerings change seasonally. If they make chocolate bunnies for Easter, I'm all over it. I also tried an oreo pop. Very cute and tasty. Excellent service. read more

The jar and lid are a nice, reusable size, and the tiny silver plastic demo-tasse spoon is perfectly sized for this dessert. I washed and reused the spoon, too! Super rich and moist chocolate cake, just enough caramel to not overwhelm the chocolate, and whipped cream (I think). It's like what a Hostess Ho-Ho wishes it could be when it grows up! I wouldn't have stumbled across Nikki's if it wasn't for The Chandler Street Christmas Market! The shop is in one of the spaces utilized on Chandler Street. A mixture of handmade chocolates and baked goods. it was the perfect place to Christmas shop locally for that personal touch. I ended up with two cupcakes, a turtle brownie, and some oreo truffles. Everything was delicious. Consider spending your hard earned money at great shops like these that need support! read more

I am so grateful for the process as I live in a different state and it's hard for me get local businesses to deliver to family in Buffalo. I will definitely order again! This places was fantastic and Nikki was really accommodating! I ordered a dozen cupcakes for delivery for my sisters birthday, pretty last minute, and Nikki made it work on time. She took down a birthday message, made peanut butter frosting for the cakes when I asked for that, and also made sure my sister was around when the cupcakes were delivered. Great experience overall, I highly recommend. Plus, my sister loved the cupcakes, said they were delicious! :) read more

They had never been to the area and we made sure to take them to Alethea's And introduce them to Buffalo's finest sponge candy. Last week was our aunt's 95th birthday. She loves chocolate and we wanted to send her some for her birthday. I saw that we could order candy online, but I called the store directly to see if someone could deliver it to her (she lives less than 2 miles from the store). I spoke with Teddy. He was wonderful. I explained what I wanted and he said they normally ship even locally. When I told him where our aunt lived, he said that he, or one of his associates, would be happy to deliver it in person. Teddy delivered it that evening. It was a great start for our aunt's birthday the next day. She was delighted with the sponge candy and chocolates. I had asked Teddy if we could have some sponge candy delivered to us in Texas. He told me that offered an ice pack for an additional $5 to keep it cool enough to survive hot weather. I ordered some candy and it was delivered 2 days later. Sadly, the candy was in the UPS truck from 9:30 a.m. until delivered that evening at 5 p.m. Even with the ice pack, the Texas heat was too much. I took pictures of the melted candy and sent to Teddy. He immediately responded and apologized and said he would contact me when he was back in the store. He called and said that he didn't want to try shipping a replacement box of sponge candy, but credited the entire amount back to my credit card. Outstanding candy and outstanding customer service. I will try again this fall to have some shipped to us in Texas when the weather cools down. Highly recommend Alethea's for those living in the local area as well as for shipping (when the weather is cooler).

There's usually a long line, but it goes really fast and the service is with a smile. I like a nice scoop of strawberry ice cream, like the one you see in the picture. As an added bonus, if you get there before 6pm, there is a comic book store inside on the upper level! I scored a Dr Strange #6 from 1974. So grab your ice cream, and sit in the shade and read your comic books to the sound of a waterfall at Glen Park located just behind Sweet Jenny's. There's nothing like it.

The ribs were to die for and fall off the bone and the kielbasa was delicious! We also got a side of cardamom cornbread ( melt in your mouth!) and the cowboy Mac which my boyfriend absolutely loved. For dessert we got the cinnamon roll which was ginormous but good! Overall, amazing experience, food, and drink even with take out! We'll be back!

My…read morepartner and I finally stopped in for coffees, an absolutely delicious vegan Caesar crunch salad, and a made in-house bagel. Everything was so good, for me the show stopper was the salad. My partner loved the bagel. We both enjoyed our afternoon coffee. The space is beautiful and cozy, it would be the perfect place to come and read or knock out some work. They have completely non-plastic to go cups which are unique looking and we loved the extra effort they put into sustainability. They have bags of their used coffee grounds for free if you need to add to your compost pile or whatever needs you might have. 10/10, will be back!

Little did I know I'd be coming into my favorite type of literally "everything"! Eclectic and vintage decor with absolutely perfect use of vintage and antique kitchen and table ware. A very interesting and fun repurposing of an old building/house. Very friendly, patient and helpful employees (apologies to the very kind woman at the counter, because when I'm excited I tend to chatter a lot). The baked goods were delicious, the whole grain toast was hearty and so full of flavor. The croissant was large, flaky and buttery. My husband's apple cake was moist and the frosting was perfect. I really enjoyed the coffee and since they don't grind the beans for you, I bought the bag of their signature blend then stopped at Walmart for a coffee bean grinder. I love savory for breakfast so I had 2 soft boiled eggs, ham, gruyere cheese, whole grain toast and pesto. When my plate came I was very pleased to see the vintage items used and some repurposed very cleverly. If the decor isn't your "thing"...make a visit for their food and coffee.

There chocolate chip cookies are sooooo good. I attend the Chandler Street Market every week just so I can get some desserts from Nikki's. I also love their cupcakes and cheesecake. I highly recommend this business to anyone. There food not only looks good but it taste amazing. read more
