I called last minute to have my kitty groomed after a vet had flaked on me the day of. Nikki the owner got me in, even though they were slammed. She and all of her staff were extremely friendly. They took my kitty in and made her feel beautiful and MUCH better after she had bad matting from my other local groomer who was shut down from covid. I called a ways before they went and we went over in detail on price and what I wanted done, dog weight and type. They called me the day before to change the time to 2 hours later. Dropped them off at 2pm and they're just now ready after at 8:24. The lady I spoke to told me about $35 each. When we call to get them they say $130. $60 more is almost double. I have never paid that much anywhere to have my dogs groomed. When I called they just argued. I appreciate that they called me to confirm my dogs cut but come this is highway robbery. read more

There were no appointments available so I inquired about Sunday since their business post says Sundays are by appointment only. The lady responded as if I was asking a ridiculous question. This place is a Godsend. I had been rejected by 3 groomers because my schnauzer was high stresses and aggressive. I went to Norco animal hospital to see if they could groom her possibly sedated. They told me they no longer had a groomer but to try Nikki's down the street. I walked in and they were so welcoming and said they handle dogs that nobody else would take. I scheduled with Wendy and I was amazed by the job she did with my Sammi. This place is nothing like the box store groomers. They actually care about your pet and are very well trained. Nikki's is slightly more expensive than the grooming you would get at a place like Petco, but well worth it. They were able to accommodate our two large, high energy dogs the same day we called. Not only did they do a beautiful job with our dogs, but also they were kind enough to give them Christmas bandanas and each got a ball to take home. We always get a friendly greeting when we walk in the door, and our dogs are always excited to see these groomers. We often make our appointments on short notice and they're very accommodating and flexible. They're always busy, though, but the pets and owners get complete care and respect, which we hadn't received at other places. Obviously, we've been happy with the service - hair cuts, baths, bandanas, nails, glands - the works for a good price. Our male gets a recognizably boyish face, and our female's cut is much more girlish, which shows attention to detail when they both could both have the same generic "cookie cutter" breed cut. This review is based on the phone conversation I had with whoever picked up at Nikki's, not the actually grooming service. After reading up on the few reviews here on yelp, I decided to call and give this place a try with my 3 dogs. Whoever I spoke with over the phone about 5 mins ago was extremely RUDE. I explained to her I'm a new customer and would like to find out more information. I understand you can't give an exact estimate over the phone without seeing the dogs first, but there is always a base price for all grooming services. I even checked their website first, but there isn't a menu on there. I felt like I interrupted someone's day instead of being treated as a potential customer. The BAD ATTITUDE was totally uncalled for. In the end, I didn't make any appointment, I don't want to be treated rudely in person as well. I sure hope that was not Nikki I spoke with, and please do train your staff to be a bit more telephone friendly. After all, customer service and 1st impressions are so very important for any type of business. read more

In our second time going to Nikki's for our two dogs' grooming, the great experience we had the first time was completely wiped out. We went on a Saturday and had an appointment for both to have their paws and nails done. Not that we had to wait long, but the waiting was hard to bear. First, the place stank even worse than one would expect from a lot of pets in one area. The floor and grooming stations were all covered in hair (more on that later). Worst of all though was the prevailing sour attitude that was visible on the majority of staff faces. "Hello" and "How can I help you?" seemed forced and disingenuous. Beyond that, for every customer that came in the looks became even more stern. Given the still dour economic climate and that weekends WOULD expect to be busy, this is not the way to maintain a prosperous business. Oliver went first and Dylan second. A few hours later Oliver started scratching incessantly and could not get comfortable. Figuring it was a rash we let it be. A couple of days later we discovered that both he and Dylan had acquired fleas. Since they hadn't been around other dogs after their visit, we immediately traced it back to their grooming. This was no doubt due to the lack of cleanliness and abundance of dog hair during our visit. Two $60 flea treatments and one flea shampoo later, both have finally been rid of them. Being new to this area, it's of course difficult to find the right services. We thought after our first experience where the owner went out of her way to groom both on a Sunday that we had found a place for both grooming and boarding. I was very concerned and nervous to leave my baby at a pet spa I was unfamiliar with but I needed desperately to get her groomed. To make a long story short, I loved it!! They did an amazing job on my baby Canela! I can't remember the name of the groomer but she was the most amazing and genuine person I have met in a long time. It's always a tough task to groom my miniature poodle because she has curly hair and it's often matted. However, Nikki does a great job! After a trip here, my shaggy dog is turned into a beautiful princess, bows and everything. It is a little pricey but it's worth it because your dog will look great. Upon arrival, she took my Rhodesian Ridgeback back quickly and offered an add on: for a few dollars more they would brush his teeth. I said ok, because it ain't that easy to do.........About an hour later he was all done and ready to be picked up. A wee bit expensive for just a simple bath and nail cut, no fancy cuts or trims. $55.00 in total with the teeth brushing. Happy with results, but I may still try a few other places out. I've been bringing Maya, my three-year-old rescue pitbull here for over six months now. Before Nikis, it was virtually impossible to even get her nails clipped. She's not aggressive, but she is absolutely terrified of vets and groomers. I'm talking about you have to physically pull her from the car and she immediately wets herself when she walks in the door. Terrified. I so appreciate Nikki's because they are the first groomers to be able to manage my fur baby. There is no prejudice towards her breed, and they are so sweet to her. The moment she comes in, shaking, trying to lie on the floor so we can't move her, they come talk to her, pet her. They are very compassionate with all the animals. The are grooming area is totally open and I've stayed and watched several times. There always seems to be somebody there, watching or waiting for their pet. What really won my loyalty though, is that they put Maya straight through the grooming process, no waiting involved, because they realized how uncomfortable she is. Of course, I come in the mornings on off days, so this is workable. Still, all these things put together, together with their rock-bottom prices, makes me a loyal Nikki's customer for life. read more

F*CK this place!! I have no idea why they have 4.5 stars. I dropped my dog off at 11 and he wasn't ready until 530. That's 6.5 hours!!! That is not normal at all!!!! They definitely took all the regulars first. My dog was sitting in the kennel for 5.5 hours before they even saw him. I have a rescue and he has major anxiety. Poor thing probably went through hell and back. The front desk kept pushing back the time and lying to me. My poor fur baby!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! My advice? Find a good mobile pet spa and pay the extra $10. Ps-my dog's haircut is uneven. :/ ***Update*** Because my dog was locked up for 5.5 hours before they saw him, he now has kennel cough. I have been brining my small maltese dog here for about 7 months and yes they do a great job and the person at the front desk is always very polite. HOWEVER, this past time march 2018 i came to pick up my dog and as I'm at the front desk paying I look to my right where they groom the dogs and I see one of their employees aggressively shaking the dogs head as she YELLED, "I want to get out of here!" First of all, yelling out like that is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I don't see how anyone could think that that's okay? Unfortunately i did not get her name (I should have) and if you hate your job that much (because you evidently you do regardless if you're having a bad work on some self control) go get another job or try to fix whatever is bugging you Instead of taking it out on an innocent animal. Secondly, aggressively shaking a dogs head also completely inappropriate ESPECIALLY because I saw the WHOLE thing and the dog didn't do ANYTHING wrong. I was shocked at the need to aggressively shake the poor dogs head like that. (FYI: the dog was a white small dog I'm not sure what breed). Because the dog wasn't even doing anything i cant IMAGINE what they do to dogs that are more fussy and less cooperative. I will NEVER bring my dog back here. Do y'all do a good job with the grooming? I brought my dog Mowglie to get groomed today for the first time ever. He doesn't really like bath time and growls. I let them know this and they said they would take it slow with him. Mowglie was very straggly and matted so they gave him a hair cut. When I came to pick him up he looked amazing and he seems so happy to be free of all that extra fur. Last weekend I was in need of a groomer. M poor dog Charlie was starting to look homeless. I called and they were able to take him but advised since I didn't have an appointment it might only be for a bath and brush. When I got there, the groomer who would be grooming Charlie picked him up and comforted him while trying to assess what needed to be done. Since he was pretty matted they told me it would take a little while. I told them my main concern was that he not be completely shaved. I dropped him off at about 9:45 am and he was down at around 8:00pm. I knew it would take long but I honestly didn't anticipate that long lol. But he looked amazing! It was $60 + another $10 for tip. It is 4 days till Christmas and I came to bring my dog Pogo in. As you know school is out for all children right now so I have my two children with me a 6 year old and an 8 year old we came to drop off our dog and we looked around at the sweaters and other things and supplies for the dog. The owner so nice she's always very nice and the pricing is always very cheap but today was really really special for my kids. The owner gave my boys each a lump of coal and at first they were a little sad but then when they open the Olympic oil there was Silly Putty inside. I used this place before for another dog year ago which I can say I didn't have any problems back then so I decided to use these people again to get my dog a flea bath & groomed up though when I picked the dog up the gals in the front office was telling me being very adamant stressing to me that no my dog didn't have any fleas, it was very obvious that my dog didn't get one when I picked her up & to date she still is scratching much it was the main reason why I took my dog there in the first place.. I guess they did comb out her hair but apparently she did not get an actual flea bath when I told them to give her one it was a waste of time & money... Their form of payment was either cash or by Zelle which I thought that was strange as well not even a debit card they accept? so when I did pay almost 100$ cash the gal was not even professional to say thank you & asked her do I get a receipt, she stated no at first but then I asked her for my records can I get one, she then said well yes I can give you one?.. again I believe that my dog did not get a flea bath which again is what I requested from the let go... not sure what their problem was if they was lazy that day & didn't want to give her one or what only a brush down.. I thought this was not good service at all for me & my dog... I know that I will never use these people again because of their lack of service & concern for my dog for what I wanted for her especially for what I paid... an absolute horrible place to take you're dog to... pet owners be aware of what you pay you may not get especially a flea bath for you're dog because they say you're dog doesn't have fleas yet scratches constantly if there was an option for no stars that's what I would have given them... read more

I wish I got the name of the lady who groomed my dog, because she told me that Koko was very well behaved even after I warned her that Koko can be aggressive. We have been going to this groomer since 2013. They recently moved into a bigger place and have a huge window where you can see what is happening in the back. This surprised me as my dog panics very easily and can become aggressive. I had assumed that all the times I have taken her there, they would be using a muzzle. I came a little bit earlier than the pick up time and saw them working on my girl. Turns out there is no muzzle, just experienced groomers. My dog did nip every now and then at the groomer, but each time it happened, the groomer would stop, comfort her, and continue forward. The reason why it may take a little bit longer is because they take their time with each pet. read more

First I want to say that I have been coming to Nikki's with my pets for about 15yrs, they were still at the 2nd st location when I first went. Nikki bathed and groomed my cat regularly until he passed at age 15. When I started showing and breeding small breed drop-coat dogs I brought them to Nikki's for grooming before a show or maintenance. They do such a fabulous job every time and I've never had a bad experience in all the years and pets I've taken in. My pets are happy to go to them.
