Another facility in Norco, Animal Care Services, said his DTAPP booster needed to be in his system for at least two weeks. Unfortunately, I was only one week away from leaving, and they would not make an exception. When I first called Smart Parke, the staff member I spoke with was very kind and reassuring. She told me I could bring my dog in for a private evaluation and mentioned that he already had an appointment scheduled. Unfortunately, it later turned out that the evaluation had not been booked correctly, which initially added stress to an already overwhelming situation. Despite this, Brooklyn completely stepped in and saved the day. She accommodated me without hesitation, handled everything professionally, and ensured my dog was evaluated properly. He passed with flying colors. From the moment I met Brooklyn, I knew my beloved pup was in good hands. She is clearly confident and comfortable with large dogs and genuinely enjoys her job. She is also wonderful with people. As a worried fur mom, Brooklyn completely put me at ease, calmed my nerves, and gave me confidence that my dog was safe and cared for. The fecal test came back with no issues, and her communication and organization were excellent. When I dropped my pup off, Brooklyn unfortunately wasn't there, and I worked with Brooke instead. Brooke was kind and responsive via email, which I appreciated. However, she did not seem as confident handling large dogs. She did not provide a collar long enough for my dog's neck and asked me to put it on myself. When I asked how long each of his three daily one-on-one sessions would be and what they entail -something I felt was important given the $150 per night charge--she was unsure and gave me an answer but initially made no effort to find out or confirm the answer. After I insisted, she called out to a manager who was sitting nearby with her door open, to which the manager gave a different response - the manager did not come speak with me until the very end and barely addressed me. Lastly , Brook said I would get a report card daily and when I didn't get one for the first day I emailed the store to which Brooklyn clarified the report cards are for regular boarding and didn't come with private. Despite this I ended up getting one each day which put our whole family at ease. While Brooke was polite and responsive, she appeared somewhat intimidated by my dog and lacked some key knowledge. That said, she did follow up promptly and answered emails, which I am grateful for. Overall, I give Smart Parke a 10/10 specifically for Brooklyn and the system she runs. She is exceptional with dogs and people alike, and her professionalism, confidence, and willingness to accommodate made all the difference in what could have been a very stressful experience.

I trusted Chino Hills Animal Hospital with my dog Jax for years, which honestly makes this even…read moreharder to write. Jax had a long history of worsening mobility problems, limping, weakness, pain, trouble standing, and documented masses. In 2024, a cytology sample from a mass came back limited/nondiagnostic, but I was never made to understand that this meant a serious tumor process had not actually been ruled out. Later, Jax underwent surgery for removal of masses, and I eventually learned there was "no way to know" what those masses actually were because definitive histopathology was never completed. Over time, the records continued documenting concerning findings including suspected neoplasia/mass, worsening hind limb weakness, enlarged lymph nodes, mobility decline, and progressive pain. In August 2025, abdominal and hind limb X-rays were performed while Jax was already struggling with worsening weakness and mobility decline. Looking back now, I seriously question whether the underlying tumor process was adequately recognized or escalated at that point. In November 2025, Jax became extremely sick and weak. A lot of the focus appeared directed toward suspected pancreatitis and diabetes management. After seeking a second opinion, another veterinarian documented severe pelvic limb weakness, muscle wasting, neurologic decline, and a large femoral mass. The veterinarian who later performed Jax's euthanasia documented massive tumor-related swelling involving his left pelvic limb and concern for neoplastic disease including possible nerve sheath tumor or sarcoma. What completely haunts me is how Jax died. During his final days, my dog was crying in pain, struggling to move, and suffering in ways I will never forget for the rest of my life. I had to make the devastating decision to euthanize him at home because his condition had progressed so severely that he could no longer walk without suffering. After another veterinarian questioned aspects of the treatment approach and documented the large mass findings, I've requested a refund and tried to get answers regarding how Jax's condition progressed to such a severe state. I never received meaningful clarification from Dr. Dunbar. I have since submitted a Veterinary Medical Board complaint along with supporting medical records, imaging, second-opinion evaluations, and euthanasia documentation for review. Please advocate hard for your pets, request copies of every diagnostic report, and seek second opinions early if something does not feel right.

They never made me feel rushed or judged, and they took the time to make sure my dog felt as comfortable as possible. You can tell they're not just skilled at what they do--they truly love what they do. Every interaction felt thoughtful and intentional, and their professionalism gave me so much confidence that my dog was in the best hands. It's not easy to find a vet team that balances expertise with compassion this well, but Dr. Ables and his staff absolutely do. I'm beyond grateful and wouldn't trust anyone else with my dog's care. Highly, highly recommend.

It was a really easy drop off her and her food and then return before 1pm to pick her up. One downside was that the facility was closed on Easter Sunday. I wish there had been an option to pick him up that day when I returned from my trip. During pickup, my experience at the front desk wasn't great. The staff member was speaking very loudly the entire time (possibly due to the barking in the background), but it came across as dismissive. There wasn't much eye contact or friendliness, which made the interaction feel impersonal. I also would have appreciated a quick update or report on how my dog did during his stay, as that would have added peace of mind. Overall, my dog seemed well cared for, but the customer service and communication could definitely be improved.
