MEDIOCRE food, and a really casual place; I thought it was a little dressier, and felt a little overdressed, but it was our anniversary dinner, so wanted to make it a special night. Started off with the complementary bread. The bread was the best part of the dining experience. It's super soft, tad bit sweet and really tasty! Hot/ fresh and amazing! Hubby and I BOTH got ribeye steaks (cooked as requested) which included 2 side options. We each did a caesar salad and mashed potatoes. The salad wasn't fresh. Had brown/ red discoloration. The mashed potatoes weren't even warm & had to send back to be reheated. Gorgonzola cream sauce got on the side, it was more a crumble! The sautéed onions I had added (at a fee) were undercooked and cold. They were taken off the bill. The waiter was good, kept his eye on us and was attentive. The only disappointment was they didn't recognize our momentous occasion. However, we purchased a Crème Brûlée dessert "to go" & it was good. Food is delicious as always, the waitress was amazing at catching cues quickly to make the experience wonderful as always, and background noise was not high so we had fun and enjoyed conversation. Can never go wrong with a tomahawk! The only reason why I'm giving stars is because the hostess and the waitstaff were very kind. Shout out to Lilith and David for taking GREAT care of my family and me. The ambience was really chill and quiet...there was barely any people there, but now I see why. The food wasn't the best. Most of our meals were either cold or salty including the Caesar salad, the rice pilaf, and the Mac and Cheese. I have dined at Niko's for many a business lunch and dinner. I can safely recommend anyone stop by for some good food and great service. All entrees are well prepared and substantially portioned. They have quality drinks and appetizers as well. Every experience I have had here has been very good. Many moons ago this restaurant was good. I had not been in here in years. Dont. Minimal staff, minimal clients that I saw in a busy week night. Food was terrible. Steak had gristle and cooked hard as a rock--I asked for medium. Bland sides and terrible mash gravy. Try another steakhouse. read more

Stopped in after a recommendation from a friend. Compared to other steakhouses in town, you get a good value for what you pay. I didn't not feel like I over paid for what was purchased. it was OK. appetizers were queso and fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were wet inside and when you bit in to them, liquid went everywhere. Our salads arrrived about 3 minutes before our main courses. we didn't finish our salads cause we didn't want the main courses to get cold. Last weekend, I drove to Corpus Christi, Texas, from Victoria with my brother on personal business. We decided to gice Niko's Steakhouse a try. Before going, I had read several very positive customer reviews online, which made me curious to try it. We arrived around noon on Saturday, but the restaurant was much less crowded than I expected. Only a few customers were seated, and there was no wait. Based on the reviews, I had expected a packed dining room and a line, suggesting the food was worth waiting for. Instead, the experience was very disappointing. My brother's prime rib looked old and gray instead of pink and juicy. It appeared as if it had been microwaved, and he had trouble cutting and chewing it. I ordered a medium-rare ribeye, but it was tough and tasteless. In the end, neither of us could eat our meals, and we left most of the food on our plates. So, for the experience I paid $95 and I swear I will not return and do not recommend this place. read more

Visited Niko's twice and I had an amazing experience both times! The service is awesome - our server was very attentive and quick with any needs we had. The food was flavorful, and the price for the quantity of food you get is insane! Highly recommend their Spinach & Artichoke dip appetizer and their New York Strip. We finished the night with their Molten Chocolate Lava Cake, and the size of this dessert is easily something that can be shared with 3-4 people! I ordered the potato soup, but it was spoiled. I called to inform the manager, and after being placed on hold for over 25 minutes, I was told the manager was too busy to take the call. The staff showed no concern about the fact that they were serving spoiled food. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food safety and customer care. read more

Very dim inside this restaurant. If I have to pull my phone out to turn the flashlight on to see your menu, it's a bit too dark. Ordered prime rib...asked for medium rare and was brought out medium well. It was ok until I tasted the salty rice. That's when the rating took a turn down to 2 stars. We had a big party of 13 and was told wait time 30 to 45 minutes. We waited an hour and still nothing. Someone from our party talked to a hostess and then a manager who was rude and told her that the wait was an hour to an hour and a half. We were not told that. There was also a table available to fit our party and we had to point that out and then was told no server available. We finally got our table. My steak and my boyfriend's steak were dry and so was my grandmothers. We had cake because we were there for a birthday and our server didn't offer us plates or forks. It was all the above, food, service, and ambience. The whole place smelt really funky, like old smoke. We order steak and shrimp with mac and cheese, and corn. The shrimp was good but a bit too sweet. The steak on the other hand, was horrible. I ordered medium well and this is was i was served (picture below). It was so unappetizing to look at much less taste. The mac and cheese was a joke. It was old and tasted fake. And the corn tasted like cheese! I needed up paying 50$ for a 23$ plate, drinks are also 3.49, and mozz sticks are 7.99. So, for these prices I expected better. The waiters were! also very rude and unhelpful. We used to frequent Nikos and their other restaurant, Ol' Steak House, just for the "Alaskan" salmon. Too bad their menu doesn't reflect what they are truly serving. Felt bad for our server. Service was subpar and no explanation of the menu or what's popular etc. Food was horrendous. Coconut shrimp were raw and was served with an overly sweet coconut sauce. My husband and I opted for the bar as there was a wait for a table at 6:45 on a Saturday night, great sign! The bar service was quick with Angela, she was friendly and made great cocktails. My husband enjoyed a HH gold margarita and enjoyed the taste so he had 2, I liked the Tito's martini with HAND stuffed bleu cheese olives!!! Loved that :). The cocktail prices were incredible. We ordered a happy hour appetizer for 5.99 I believe, the fried mushrooms aren't hand breaded so they carry a lot of water from being frozen, but not terrible- what I would expect for 5.99. I'll try the hot lobster dip next time. I had a 6 oz sirloin and quail, both fantastic and you could taste the mesquite grill that was used to prepare the food. The Caesar salad dressing is delicious definitely house made and so was the ranch on my hubs garden salad. My hubby had the Florentine chicken and really enjoyed it. The chili is also a must have. We will be back on Wednesday for the martini special and hopefully Angela will be working as well. read more

Someone I know has been talking this place up for years. After years of skirting around going, we finally went and I could tell he was disappointed in how things turned out. We provided a lot of leeway because it seemed there was some kind of emergency happening in the building. I will start by saying that the reason this is a two-star review at all is the service was at the very least responsive to our concerns. They wound up removing the appetizer and alfredo mentioned here from our bill without us requesting that they do so. We got one hot-dog-bun sized bread for a table of six people, well after appetizers had hit the table - more never made it to us. We had two side orders go missing. The crab-avocado stack included overripe, yeasty avocado and under-ripe tough mango. The queso arrived cold and grainy. My baked potato could not melt butter. No one at the table finished anything aside from one person who finished a dessert. A chicken alfredo went nearly untouched by someone who was looking forward to it. Baked potato soup was noted by three folks at the table to have a "funny taste." I have had many steaks cooked in a variety of ways that provided a smoked flavor. This steak had the distinct taste of a steak that uses liquid smoke or other food-additive smoke flavoring - this was not present on the steak of another person at the table that ordered a "black and blue." The person mentioned at the beginning of this review tried it and remarked that it was odd and not what he'd had before. This means that the steak itself cannot stand alone with regard to taste, it relies on mild but coating Cajun seasoning. Unfortunate because I expected the steak to be great for the misses with everything else. What was good? The Caesar salad that was one of my sides had a nice amount of flavor. I would have liked some pepper for it but none was available. The waitress was friendly when she arrived to the table and working on a larger section of the room, so I think she was dealing with what she could. I don't know if things here have changed over time or if it was just an off night. read more

After a short wait, got seated but the service was nonexistent. Finally Samatha decided to take our order. Which is great, because dehydration was overcoming me. On the front of the menu, they list best of with a list of supposed accomplishments. However, for a steak house, you are really limited in how you can get the steak cook. Why can't they do a derivative of medium, like medium well or medium rare? My theory is the grill has a fixed setting and the robots are programmed to turn the steak at specific times. Apparently the artistry of cooking is not happening in the kitchen of Niko's. Obviously, I chose chicken rather than chance how my steak would be cooked. The flow of food was off. Waited forever then the salad & bread came. Hint: you have to ask for a bread plate. That seems odd to me. The salad was dry and asking multiple times for additional dressing was not successful. I was successful in getting charged seventy nine cents for two ounces of dressing that I couldn't get at my table. Before I could choke down my salad, the main course came. Slightly later the side came. The chicken was flavorful, the rice wasn't. The mashed potatoes may have been better but they were dry. I figured I was also being rationed on gravy. Plus who wants to pay probably two dollars an ounce for additional gravy? Tried dessert and that was my mistake. It was another ridiculously long wait. To sum things up, you don't get a choice in how your steak is cooked, the food is hit and miss and you need a lot of patience to get service and to be charged for extra dressing you will never receive. I definitely will never be back. I expect service and taste for these prices. read more

I don't know where to start! The food was delicious. Nothing disappointed! Our waitress was too notch. Very helped and accommodating. We started our the with Cordon Bleu poppers, and the Fried Mushrooms. Both were a meal on its own! She recommended the country gravy to dip with the mushrooms, and it was 10/10. The poppers were yummy our favorite. You get this nice cheesy surprise with bits of ham when you bite into it. It didn't even need any dipping sauce, but it was nice to have the ranch just in case. My husband got the Black and Blue Ribeye, it was beautifully seasoned and cooked to his liking! He got the Mac & cheese as his side. The noodles were a little over cooked, but still yummy. I got the Prime Rib with a baked potato. Everything was absolutely delightful! The meat just melts in your mouth, and the baked potato came right off the skin when I was scrap the insides. To end our meal, we got the creme brûlée! I'm a little biased when it comes to this because it's hard to impress me with this dessert, but I would honestly come here just for this! It wasn't too sweet, the custard was creamy and fluffy, and the caramelized sugar was perfect! To come to our surprise we didn't spend too much either. I feel like places like Outback, Texas Roadhouse, and Saltgrass are much too pricey for what they serve. On top of that they're chain steakhouses! I've always heard this was a great place and it is not. We sat in a booth near the bar and the sour smell was overpowering. I ordered a 12 oz ribeye and they brought out a steakumm. It was paper thin and obviously way overdone. I asked the waitress about it and she said it was what I ordered. The manager came over and said the same but offered a replacement.
