Never will go back even though it's closer to my house than driving to el dorado hills. The owner is beyond rude. She shook my hand and yelled at me to relax while doing my nails in a rushed stressful manner, I came back again and she's so rude to costumers like she is entitled to them. I came back one last time and she said only appointments in a rude tone. I told her I will never ever give her my service again. I now go to EDH and the ladies are so sweet and kind. The Illinois salons I have been to could learn a thing it two from this nail salon. Visiting family and looked for a a salon. Nina's was close by and though not recent, previous reviews were good. Staff is very friendly. I had a pedicure with massage, (Kimberly) the most expensive option and it was worth every penny. Relaxing and my skin after was very soft. The nail polish looked amazing even though I don't have the prettiest toes or nails. I returned the next day for a manicure. I use the dip powder and they turned out very nice and to my liking. Some nail techs make the nail very thick and it is obvious And unnatural appearing. Not with (Hannah) at Nina's. My nails are just how I like them. And Nina was very friendly. She also said if I didn't like the color that it could be changed. I'll definitely be returning and recommend you give Nina's a try. read more

My wife went to Nina's Nails for my daughter to get acrylic nails (her first time) as a special treat to celebrate her graduation week. She was asked to show a photo of what she wanted and did. After being pushed & rushed into a pedicure myself, my daughter had her nails done by a nail technician. Since we were there due to our friends' recommendation (they've gone there forever), we trusted that he knew what he was doing and was in good hands. After my wife's pedicure, she was trying to take a photo of our daughter and her friend (whose nails were done nicely by another technician) and was told rudely by Nina that "you need to move out of the way so she can see customers coming in". I hadn't even been standing there for 30 seconds. She ordered me to sit "over there" and pointed to a chair away from where my daughter was being treated. Nina apparently still didn't where my wife was sitting, but she wanted to be in view of our daughter and her friend. Once my daughter was done, Nina ordered her to tell my wife "she has to pay!" My daughter came to me, upset and embarrassed, telling her we need to pay. Of course we know we need to pay. My wife was again told to go sit down and wait, so I did. For a second time, Nina yelled at my daughter that we were not paying (I was finishing up an important business email). She proceeded to the counter where she rudely asked if she was paying for just hers or both? She punched an adding machine and barked, "$90" and took my cc. I wish I hadn't but I did leave a 20% tip. I also wish I had looked at my daughter's nails FIRST because after paying and once outside, we looked at them and they were absolutely HORRIBLE. They looked like short spikes coming out of the center of her nails. He filed her nails so far and deep into the nail bed, that her skin is raw and cut. Hopefully, she won't get an ingrown nail or an infection. The pink "french tip" was uneven and different depths on each nail, with indentations in them. The acrylic tips were not even straight. Our friends thought they looked bad too. My daughter refused to go back to the salon to have them taken off because she was treated so rudely and was embarrassed. I took her to another salon where they gawked at how bad the nails were. We paid to have them removed but unfortunately, her nails are so bad underneath due to the horrible filing job, that nothing was able to be done. She needs to wait about two weeks in order to have her nails manicured again - and will never do acrylics again due to this awful experience. We called Nina the next day to ask for my money back; not for the entire amount, just the acrylics/tip for my daughter and she refused. Finally, she offered me a gift certificate back to her salon, but we will never return. Even after telling her my daughter's thumbs were CUT and sore, she didn't care. "We need to see the nails," she said. I told her "You were the one who did the pink French tips - how did you NOT see the horrible nail job then?" She hung up on me. We have filed now for a credit card dispute. It's unfortunate that a small business that relies on word-of-mouth would treat a customer like this. Please own up to your mistakes and make things right. read more

Male guy that works at Nina's has a terrible attitude. I wanted my toe nails a square shape and he filed them unevenly. When asked if he could fix it the nail so it could be square shaped, he became angry. He got up and stated I could leave. I asked, "Because I wanted my nails filed evenly?" At Ninas nails they will take care of you whether if you're in a rush or not. They give you complimentary water, and sometimes do your mani & pedi at the same time. Kind of dirty place, however, pedicures are always nice. They do use sanitized tools, and my nails are done 95% of the time to my liking. Nina is sometimes a smart ass bur her staff is awesome. Don't let her dad do your nails! They are pricey too!! read more

Don't waste your time and money! worst manicure and customer service I have ever experienced ever. The gal who did my manicure did a sloppy job. Did not apply a clear base coat, slopped on the polish, 2 coats, my cuticles had polish all over them.. When I mentioned it to her she seemed annoyed and made a half hearted and half assed attempt at cleaning them up. She never applied a clear top coat. After apply only the two coats of polish, leaving parts of the nail unpolished she placed my hand under the UV lamp for about 12-15 minutes. I sat patiently waiting for my nails to dry. She said I was dry and that it was ok for me to leave. By the time I drove home my polished was all smeared. I telephone the shop and told them my polished was smeared. The gal on the phone told me to come back the following day, which I did. When I arrived the women who greeted me blamed me for the polish being smeared, saying that I had done something. Yeah, I drove home, after being told my nails were sufficiently dry to leave. The women told me I would have to sit and wait at least 30 minutes to have my manicure redone. I did not have time for that. I had an event to attend, which why I had my nails done initially. So I asked if she would just refund the money I paid for the manicure and I would go home and redo my polish myself. She rudely refused. So she got paid for a very poor job plus received a good tip. I would NEVER go back there and highly discourage anyone else from using theim. read more

Salon was clean and the girl who did my toes did a really great job. The staff wasn't overly friendly or chatty, but it was honestly kind of nice to just sit there and relax. Honestly I was a regular customer here for sometime and I really could not get past how unhappy the environment is there, the only exception is a friendly older man that seems to help out because he is so kind, and always smiling. The owner always gave me the feeling she did not care for my business one way or the other so I stopped going after my regular guy left. I had popped in on occasion after to see if there had been any changes and because they give a fairly good pedicure. I just cant see giving my money to a business regularly that seems as if they do not care one way or the other, I hoped at some point Nina would be more pleasant or lighten up however I should not feel like I have to go outta my way by being overly kind to get a pleasant response from her and to think she never says thank you or greets her customers! Worst nail experience i've had in a really long time. I brought my daughter with me and DO NOT recommend bringing any kids with you. From the moment we walked in the owner was rude and said not to touch anything. Fast forward to it seemed like we were bothering them to do our nails. The tech. asked me what color when I had already picked it out as they continue to talk smack in another language about you. Then when asked a question they say yeah yeah yeah. I couldn't wait to leave! Then to top it off the old polish on my tows is still visible. The owner was rude trying to male jokes when it's at others expenses. Absolutely will never go back. Made an appointment for 6pm for my mom and myself and they were waiting for us and rushing us through the process of choosing a color. Then they kept trying to pressure me into gel, stating that my nails would chip in 1-2 days without. The woman who did my pedicure did a wonderful job, but the lady who did my manicure was very sloppy, glopping the polish on. We both asked for the express pedicure and I should have read the description more thoroughly, but they did the regular pedicure and charged us more without discussing. Then they did not even check our nails to ensure they were dry. All they cared about was getting out the door. Extremely disappointed! read more

Won't be going back sadly. All of my natural nails were completely misshaped one side long and the other short and curved over way too much-on ALL nails. Also, the gell I've had for ten hours has already peeled and chipped on one finger. Other fingers have an excess of polish which creates bubbles more mishaping. Just got my first pedicure! I chose Nina's because of the previous reviews and their nearby location. I made an appointment but it wasn't needed as they were pretty slow this Sunday afternoon. I walked in and they seated me in a very nice massaging chair and gave me a water. The tech was very gentle and soothing. The whole place was very clean. So rude. The owner tells you what you want instead of listening to what you want. I don't understand whats so hard about stripes, but apparently they are incapable of doing lines. I even had a picture. All my nails are crooked, not straight. One of my nails broke after 3 days, and when I went to fix it and ask her to redo the design she blatantly told me no. I told her I didnt mind paying more, and she refused to do it. The nail she fixed looks nothing like the rest of my nails, its bulkier and bigger than the rest and the "stripes" don't look anything like the rest. I made an appointment both times. Worst service I've ever had. I have to go somewhere else to get a whole new set since I have a photoshoot for my pregnancy in less than a week. I went here for a pedicure and to get acrylics with French tips. My pedicure, which was the second highest package (massage, paraffin wax, etc) was a little pricey (I think $35?) but it was fantastic. My pedicurist was great, the experience was very relaxing. For a pedicure, I'd give this place 4 stars (5 if it were a little bit cheaper). The nail part, however, left much to be desired. I know that getting nails done can be hit or miss when you're trying a new place... and this was a far miss. I'll start with a personal preference thing. Instead of airbrushing or painting French tips... they use actual white tips instead of clear ones. The reason I bring this up and the reason I dislike it... is that if you want to get a fill and have your nails painted, you either have to let the nails grow out or choose a super dark polish so the white doesn't show through. And if you chip the inside of the tip for some reason... it shows up. I'm not a fan. But if my nails had still been done nicely... I probably wouldn't even mention it. So now the issues... -There was no pre-treatment aside from cutting my natural nail. No buffing, no cuticle removal, nothing. She cut my nails and then immediately began fitting them. -Two of my nails did not get glued down properly, so there was space between my natural nail and the fake one. This is obviously not a good thing because water and other substances can get caught between the nail and acrylic which can lead to fungus and infection. I was able to fix and fill these spaces when I noticed by using one of my own nail kits. -After I had washed my hands, one of them needed to be filed because it was uneven. The flakes didn't get washed off so they are visible under the polish. -The gel did not cure well at all. It's smooth, but you can see where bubbles formed under the first layer. You can see bubbles through the clear polish on most of my fingers. -It's only been about a week and the nails are coming up. I've had this happen if I've been too busy to get a fill and it's been a month. NEVER after a week. It's bizarre. And it's not just 1 nail or a little piece- it's like the entire side of multiple nails. -I was charged much more than I should have been. I believe this is because they gave me fiberglass nails and not acrylics like I asked for (the container says "fiberglass" on it but the powder looked right so I figured it was just a leftover container.) I also think they may charge for the gel polish topcoat that they use over French Tip acrylics. I can't say for sure, but when I added everything up in my head, the total made no sense unless I was charged extra for those things. So... Pedicure- do it. Acrylics- go elsewhere. read more

I brought my mother here for Mother's Day, I got a fill and she got a pedicure and acrylic manicure (supposed to be). I can understand that it's Mother's Day weekend and it can get hectic but I definitely won't be coming back based on their response when I pointed out problems with me nails. Firstly the guy who did my nails didn't coat my entire nail with polish, I pointed that out yet he did not fix. Secondly, he didn't coat my nail enough either so the color was very weak. They did end up fixing that for me but the fact was it was obvious and he didn't fix it until I asked. Another women was the one to coat my nails another time and the whole time she told me that it wasn't their fault that the color was weak and that if I continue to be picky I'll never be satisfied. I later realized the length of my nails are majorly different too. As for my mother, her pedicure looked great, however when it came to getting her acrylic manicure they didn't do as we asked. We stated from the beginning we wanted an acrylic French tip. Instead she did the French tip on her regular nail, no acrylic in place. We pointed this out before it was too late but the woman complained saying that that's not what we said in the beginning and that if we do acrylic French tip she has to "start all over". Not my fault you didn't listen to our request. My mother ended up being so annoyed with all the problems and how long this all took she decided just to not add acrylics since it was causing such a problem. My overall opinion, I'm not coming back. I don't care how busy you are, you should be making time for the customer in front of you instead of everything else. Horrible experience, I'll update in a few days to see how our nails look. read more
