Sorry folks, not impressed. I didn't feel like driving to my usual spot in Folsom today, but needed a quick polish change. So since so many people in the area recommended Nina's, decided to stop in. I asked for a polish change, which is advertised as $8 but I was charged $12? In addition to getting my polish changed she slapped some lotion on my hands and arms. So I'm guessing she's charging me for what was supposed to be a manicure? And if that's what you call a manicure someone needs to go back to cosmetology school. I don't understand why small businesses in small communities don't give their all when providing customer service. This is exactly why places go out of business. Small businesses in small communities gain or lose there rep based on word of mouth. So why would you not give the best customer service you can give? Anyhow, I won't be going back. $12 for polish change and some lotion is ridiculous. I'd rather use the gas to go to Folsom. The only reason I gave them two stars is because they were friendly. read more

Nina is the rudest person I have ever came across in the service industry, and I am in the service industry so that's saying a lot. When you actually talk down to me, and are condescending to other customers that's when you loose my service. a regular pedicure lasted 35 minutes um that's ridiculous. This was my second time to this salon for a pedicure. No problem the first time. This time was very negative and I wish I would have read the reviews before coming. I was the first customer when they opened at 9:30 having made an appt the day before. Within the first few minutes of being there, Nina, the owner, told me to hurry up to pick my color because she had a group coming in at 10am. I don't get to get salon treatments often so this visit was a special treat. When I took a few more minutes to decide she came back and said "just pick a few colors and you can decide between them when you are sitting down". She also told me multiple times not to drop the polish because she would have to pay for it and clean it up herself... This is not ok! Feeling rushed, I grabbed a few colors and sat down. Nina's team was helpful in having me try on a few colors but I did ask them to grab me a brown and Nina came around the corner and said she didn't have a brown. I literally had to get up myself during my pedicure to go grab one of four browns they had on the wall. I could go on... When paying for my service I asked Nina not to rush her customers. She argued with me and said I should have picked a time when a group wasn't coming in after me! How am I less of a customer if a group is coming in? Nope. Of course I tipped well because the pedicure I received was fine and it wasn't the manicurist's fault that the owner was not kind. But, I will not return. read more

We found our new favorite nail salon! This was our 1st time here and I was so impressed! Hannah did powder dipped nails on my daughter and she did a fantastic job! My other daughter got a polish chage with a design and they only charged $5! Everyone was so nice and Nina is the sweetest! The salon was also very clean which is super important to me. Jenny did a great job on my pedicure! Not only are my toe nails pretty but they feel amazing. She cleaned up my feet without causing any pain which I have experienced at other nail salons. I missed the names of the lady that did my manicure, but she was great too :) I'm actually surprised at some of the negative reviews. Nina and the staff were super friendly and attentive to all the customers while I was here. It seemed like there were a lot of regulars too. I recommend getting the special pedicure. This is the worst nail job I've ever had. I asked for acrylic and they insisted I get fiberglass. The gel polish and fiberglass chipped off the second day. I will never go here again. Not worth wasting good money. I work hard for my money and don't appreciate spending almost a days pay to get a fill and pedicure. I was going to Kevin, and he was amazing! But they are pricey and I have difficulty understanding how they charge. It always seems like more than the prices listed. But I showed up today for my appointment and he was gone! First they said he was on vacation, then they said he went back to Vietnam. So another girl did my nails and she was slow and did a bad job. While the salon was nice and clean and I was attended to quickly I had a big problem. I had a manicure and pedicure but my manicure didn't even last 24 hours! Only 12 actually. I have found my new favorite place for a pedicure. Lady straight up took a dremel to my calluses- so needed.

I actually enjoyed my experience here, I thought the prices weren't bad- a little expensive for the area. I got a basic white tips manicure and it was $35 + $5 for cutting my cuticles. The girl did a good job however the edges of my nails started lifting about 2 days after I got them done and they're all about half lifted now (nearly 2 weeks later). I'm shocked none have fallen off yet. I was going to head in and see if they would fix them however after reading other reviews about the customer service I figured I would just decide to deal with it- and not cause problems. They're not bad, I just wish they stayed on longer and weren't lifting so bad I've never had this problem before. I probably will not come back to get my nails done here. read more

I come here on occasion for a pedicure just because they are open on Sundays. I always regret it. They never clean under the nail, don't push the cuticles back, and when they polish, they do not polish the entire nail. After one day, my pedi looks "old" because of that lack of attention to detail. read more

I really like this place went to Yan and then she was gone. I then I had Kevin due my nails he was great. I then called Two different times for Kevin went into salon only to find he wasn't there. Finally they said on vacation then in Vietnam but they lied. Girl who did my nails told me he was gone. She wasn't very good and now looking elsewhere. Do not like being lied too. I also develop an infection in my toe they do not clean their pedi chairs so beware !!! Unsanitary and lies not good for customer service!! read more

When my friend first told me about Naia's I was thirlled. I went the first three times it was great. Then it seemed like Nina cared more about the money than turning any one away than the service. I was moved from person to person. I had a wedding to go to go Sunday and was there on Wed. My nail came off o Sat. and my toe chipped. Before my nails would last 3 weeks. Maybe making money to pay for your next vacation is not what you should talk about when your working on people that work very hard for there money. Some of us can't take vacation's likeyou. Brought my daughter here for her 13th birthday with a friend. Both girls got acrylic nails and pedicures. The other mom and I got pedicures, mine was the $20 basic. At no point during the appointment was I told that the polish colors my daughter picked were 'gel' but this added over $30 to the total ($20 for pedicure, $10 for gel topcoat on fingers.....). I was honestly shocked at the total of my appointment today, and feel like this is a very sneaky way of them upcharging. My daughters friend was also charged for the upgrade, making Nina well over $60 extra today, and I'd honestly have no way of knowing whether it was gel polish or not. I had a pedicure about 3 weeks ago; the tech doing it was rather rough, even nicked the skin along the side of the nail as she was trimming things. Slightly painful. I now have developed a fungal infection on that same toe, which I have never had before! I question the sterility of the instruments used on my feet and will never return. read more

First of all I've been here a few times now and always thought Nina was very rude. One time I came in for a mini pedicure and she said she could take me now. I told her I didn't have much time. So I waited and waited at the pedi chair and I looked out the window to see her walk across the st. And came back with a Starbucks!!! Then walked to the back knowing I was still waiting for her. Had been going here for about two months and if you would have asked after the first few times I would have highly recommended this place. They are friendly and the place is clean and well maintained. HOWEVER, after getting acrylic fills every two weeks, I walk in the next time and Nina asks if I just want a fill as usual so I say yes and when I go to pay all of a sudden they are charging me $2 extra. When I asked for clarification of why it was more she says " oh you got fiberglass fill not acrylic fill we always do fiberglass fill unless you specify". Well not only did she know I have always done acrylic fills because I was a regular, no one ever asked me either. That being said we had also had a conversation months previous about fiberglass when I asked to know what the difference was. She said technically it's supposed to be a little stronger but there is basically no point and they don't really even carry it because the acrylic holds up fine for most people...she defended her pricing and said that I always pay this amount when I know for a fact how much I have payed each time as I am very much on a budget as a poor college student. $2 difference each time does make a difference, especially when I like to add decent tip! Anyways she claimed if I could bring a receipt that said I only payed the $16 for the fill before she would give me the price...knowing very well that they don't give out receipts for cash generally unless you specifically ask. Unfortunately many of these places are similar in the inconsistency of pricing and the constant con of trying to get more money out of people but I do not appreciate it and they have now lost my business over a $2 difference. read more

Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly. I was seen promptly, even with several other clients being helped. This team clearly has a very balanced flow and works efficiently with each other. The salon is attractively decorated, and I like that there aren't tv's blasting. Very clean and organized. I was turned away from City Nails and asked to come back in an hour after revealing I only wanted a color change of my toes. I walked over to the Burkes Junction center where Nina and her team welcomed me and took amazing care of me immediately. Thank you ladies, I will be back. read more

I've been going to Nina's nails for the past 10 years (between this and her previous location across the street). Until today I've always been pretty happy. I came last night an hour before they closed and waited for abt 20 minutes and was told they were too busy and could I come back tomorrow. Annoying after waiting 20 minutes. I called this morning and made an appt with Cathy for 12:30 for a gel polish change and a pedicure by whoever was available. Even with my appt, Cathy busy doing another customers nails until my pedicure was completely over which wasn't until 1:50. Right away I showed her a pic of my previous gel polish which was black with glitter over the black and she said they didn't have the glitter color because that was powder. I've NEVER had powder/acrylic ...only gel polish on my natural nail, so I asked again if they had it in gel. She said no so I asked what was a close option. She kind of yelled and said "You were here last night and you still haven't picked a color". I was stunned at how rude she was. She brought out a glitter that I didn't really like so I asked to see another color and then she very rudely said "You are wasting my time". Excuse me, I waited for 20 minutes last night to be told to come back and then even with an appointment today, instead of having both services done at the same time I had to wait for Cathy for almost 90 minutes. She thinks I'm wasting her time??? For a monthly customer of 10 years that is RIDICULOUS. I only asked to see 1 other glitter color. What I wanted wasn't hard and I've had the same thing done EVERY time I come for 10 years. I got up right then with other customers staring because of hue rude she was and said "You're treating me so rude I'm paying for my pedicure and I'll skip my nails. Then she tells me I owe an additional $5 for removing my gel. Which I paid, but what HORRIBLE customer service. I'm assuming because Nina, the owner, is gone for the next month Cathy thinks she can get away with this attitude. Unless Nina resolves this upon her return I'll find another salon. read more

While the services are pretty good most of the time, the staff is often rushed, and hurries through the pedicures in particular (the staff seems intimidated by Nina the manager--- is there a no-talk rule, or what?). In fact, the manager has been rude to me on several occasions, almost like I'm doing her a favor by being there. I have stopped referring business to this shop. Too many details to write the whole story but they made my three year old wait while I got my pedi to then tell her they think she moves to much to do hers. She is a three year old... I expected her to move. They were rude and mean. I would never go back on the account that they have black hearts and will not paint toddlers nails.
