    Strawberry kiseki pancakes

The best Japanese pancakes I have ever had! I could eat them every day. You have to try them!

Excellent fried chicken in the sandwich and chicken and waffles! It was crispy, flavorful, and juicy. Avocado toast was fresh and good but not amazing and the kale salad it came with was the same. The chocolate banana soufflé pancakes were airy and not too sweet... they were great. Iced greed tea is more like matcha which I like, but some don't so be aware. The restaurant is clean and cute inside. There was only one person serving and hosting which felt a little understaffed, but she was pleasant and friendly. Overall, I'd go back.

We finally had their kiseki pancakes! Yay! We got the fruit kiseki and chocolate banana kiseki. They're fluffy, light, and delicious as advertised! It did take 20-30 min to make so be patient. The place is so clean, and the wait staff is nice and friendly. They accept reservations now, so it's more manageable with your time, big plus! We will try the strawberry kiseki (with strawberry cream) and melty chocolate next time

Their dishes have remained consistently delicious. This time tried their pasta which was really savory but sadly it was their last day of pasta dishes. Also got their special melty kiss Kiseki pancakes. All was GREAT!!

Love, love, love this place. The fluffy kiseki pancakes were delicious as were the eggs Benedict. Service was outstanding. Very attentive and they would come by to fill our coffee mugs without asking. They have a variety of kiseki and regular pancakes on the menu. We had the lemon ricotta and will go back to try others. Nice and clean restaurant in the heart of Princeton.

J S Foodies is everything you are looking for in a brunch spot. The food is both amazing AND picture perfect. I know the first one is always the more important one, but I dare you not to jiggle your strawberry pancakes for an Instagram story. Even if you aren't a sweet breakfast person, get a stack of the fluffy Kiseki souffle pancakes for the table. They are seriously sooo good and they are made to order. Put the order in for them as soon as you can even if you don't know what else you will be having. They take about 20-30 minutes to cook, but they are worth it! Along with the table pancakes, I got their veggie omelette and loved it. It came with a side salad and small side of fries and everything made for a delicious meal to start my day in Princeton. Don't forget a tasty drink as well! I loveeeee their matcha lattes. They have a big space with lots of tables but do fill up, espeically on the weekends. Make a reservation if you can to secure your spot. Enjoy!

Very reminiscent of my times in Scandinavia and Tokyo!

I went thinking it was a new place to me - I was right. The 30 minute Japanese soufflé was a revelation with incredible whip cream and fresh fruit. Big steam pot of Earl Grey and strong coffee too made for a great break in the sad grey parade of the working life. A flick of chatty students initially was distracting (like how many times can you say "like"? Apparently an infinite number!) but I soon realized this threadbare delectotorium was all the more lively for them.

Soufflé pancakes were awesome - so light and airy. BLT with fries were also excellent. Definitely recommend.

The cafe was small and tight but offered a good amount of seating. There was a notice on the door about the kiseki pancakes. They take 30 minutes to cook so you want to plan to time if you have other things to do. The pancakes were $18. They were cloud like textured and melted in my mouth. I wish there had been an option for a turkey protein or some kind but they do have eggs, smoked salmon, and regular pork sides. The atmosphere was giving small college town. I'm so glad I got to try these pancakes and can't wake to come back to try a different variation.

Went on a monday afternoon. Not busy at all they had tons of open seatings. We ordered the carbonara, strawberry kiseki, and teriyaki burger. Food took SOOO long and im not even exaggerating because it really did. Carbonara was such a small portion for the price its not worth it and it was very salty. Strawberry kiseki was good I felt like its missing something though. It was basically an hr wait for the pancakes and this was not even on a busy time.

We went to JS Foodies for my niece's 16th birthday brunch, and the staff was so sweet and put 'Happy Birthday' in what I think was powdered chocolate on her plate. We split the fries as a starter which were pricy, but the aioli it comes with is addictive. I also ordered the matcha kiseki pancakes, which didn't take too long to arrive as there weren't many others there on a weekday morning, and it was delicious and filling.

The souffle pancakes are sooo fluffy and delicately flavorful. The matcha one comes with a regular cream, matcha cream, red bean paste (sweet), and matcha crisps on the side. The cream was also so fluffy and very scrumptious to complement the souffle. The staff is EXCEPTIONAL! So friendly and helpful, it was the best service I've had in a long time.

Came here for brunch with a friend on Saturday bc we heard the food is insta worthy haha. It's packed by we got seated within 5 minutes. The store is small but doesn't feel tight or crowded. The service was very fast and friendly. We got the famous pancake and an omelette to share. The pancake is so soft and not super sweet which we loved. The omelette is cooked French style and very flavorful too. Also highly recommend the hojicha latte! Would come back to try the sandwiches and other pancakes for sure

Do they only take reservations during the weekday and not on the weekends?

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, at the moment, we accept reservations on weekdays only. On weekends, we seat guests on a first-come, first-served basis. The restaurant tends to be less crowded after 2 PM on weekends. We look forward to your visit!

They had a line outside the restaurant to wait, which made us initially worried. There was not a hostess or anyone outside so it was a gamble waiting in the line. As we waited, a person who seemed to the manager or possible owner popped out and was asking what sizes our parties were. All in all, we only waited about 15 minutes. There was indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to sit outside because it was a nice day and they had outdoor heaters. I would say the service was quick but you could tell by the look on our servers face, she was stressed. My cousin and I split the shakshuka and the two-fer which came with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and bacon and sausage. My other cousin ordered the chicken and waffles and a side of turkey bacon. When it was time to eat, we were missing several items from our order and it was hard to catch our server, as she was rushing in and out. We were missing a set of utensils, my coffee and my cousin's turkey bacon. We asked a busser for utensils and the manager/owner was popping in and out and was very helpful. He helped us to adjust the heaters and we let him know about the missing turkey bacon because our bill came out and it was still listed. He comped it from our bill and actually asked it to be made for us to take - but we never received it and just left. I have been here many, many years ago. I am happy for the business that they have gained so much popularity, but do think based on our experience, that they should maybe consider staffing more servers on the weekend. Also - since we dined outside; it was a bit awkward because I felt as though the people in line waiting were just watching us eat.

PJ's offers you an eclectic variety in pancakes that you won't find elsewhere. Everything from chocolate chip, buckwheat, spicy apple, banana pecan, Tiramisu to potato pancakes. I have tried several. My favorites are the banana pecan and the chocolate chip. When the occasional pancake craving or breakfast/brunch food hits, head to PJ's, but definitely expect a wait on the weekends. As we were leaving I reconfirmed it with the person at the host's desk ( seemed to be the manager) , who apologized and said maybe our waiter missed it . But it was a noticeable miss that cannot be overlooked, as that was the purpose of our dinner here. End of the meal, our family's spirits fell flat, but we still sang and celebrated sans the petty candle. Now on to the food and drinks... Mocktails were delicious, colorful, and eye-catching . We tried all 3 on the menu and loved it. Appetizers galore filled our table ... Bang Bang cauliflower had a medley of sweet & sour flavors. Hummus pita board - Warm grilled pita was a table favorite with the small portion of hummus and fresh crisp veggies. Harvest salad - crisp lettuce, feta cheese, walnuts, poached and fresh sliced pear, cucumbers, and watermelon radish with rose vinaigrette made this extra special. Crispy calamari - great pairing with pickled veggies and arugula basil aioli. We ordered an assortment of entrees with all seafood choices .
