Aesthetic: Katsu food stall in Urban District Market with Katsu sandos, Katsu burgers, and rice bowls. My Favorites: The Tonkotsu sando is perfection! Experience: I've been coming to Urban District Market for about a year since they opened, and I've been meaning to try more of the stalls instead of just rushing for onigiri at the Market. I'm so happy I tried the Tonkotsu Sando today, it was amazing and perfectly crispy. The workers were excited to help, and we loved our sandos. I'm excited to come back and try more!

The restaurant has a salad option my sister in law was tempted to try. The option was a crispy salad chicken.I had a side salad to go along my teryaki chicken not picture from another venue. The lettuce was crisp and the salad delish. There were so many options and so little time to choice all. The sald had chopsticks availabe for the daring and handy with sticks. If you have a chixken fix, The Chicken Patty is the spot

Deep fried sandwiches? Yes, PLEASE! Crispy Patty is one of the many food stalls in the Urban District Market. I feel like I stumbled upon a hidden gem because I came over here after running some errands in the Villa Heights neighborhood and it was completely empty. Ordering is a breeze with the kiosk and the order came up pretty quickly. Enough time to grab a beer at the LaBARatory across the way. The staffers let me know my order was ready and it was waiting under the heat lamp. I have a feeling you normally get a text message that your order is up because the kiosk asks for your phone number. Sandwich was delicious! Got the tots and was very satisfied with my hidden gem find. The district market is right off the rail trail so I'm sure this will get more popular as more and more people come on through. The market has a ton of tables, everything was super clean and ready for people to frequent this place! Yes- it is smaller than Optimist Hall, but not everyone can be in an abandoned mill building concept. Charlotte is better off with a ton of smaller food halls rather than one huge one where parking is insane and a casual outing can easily become a nightmare.

I've had high hopes for this place as I'm a fan of the Urban District Market it's located in. But unfortunately after a couple chances it just has not impressed. The last time I ended up with $20 of inedible "chicken wings" that looked nothing like they were advertised. The servers were working so hard & the space is clean with plenty of seating. I'll give them another chance but only if I happen to be there anyways. And nothing chicken.

Yummy! Just wish it had a little more spice to it. But perfectly fried and not greasy at all.

Meh. Wasn't bad. Wasn't worth coming back to. Obviously didn't resemble menu photos. Nothing on the corn dog. Sandwich was dry. Nuggets were TINY. The girl working the counter didn't have 'social skills' for lack of a better phrase. She literally didn't speak. We won't be back.

Food was overpriced and extremely greasy(both my sandwich and the fries). They also got my friends orders wrong.

Having the open roof adds such a cool touch and makes it a fun spot to hang out. The espresso martinis are killer and definitely worth ordering. And the fries with aioli? Easily one of my favorite parts of the meal, they are impossible to stop eating. Overall, it's a great spot for drinks, good food, and a fun pub atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

It was fairly busy, but we walked in without a reservation and were seated indoors right away. We ordered two Guinnesses, the Mussels appetizer (with garlic bread), and split the Fish & Chips plate. Everything was incredible. The cod was perfectly beer-battered, the hand-cut chips were crisp and hearty, and the green peas and tartar sauce rounded it out beautifully. The mussels and garlic bread were also delicious (even ordered a second garlic bread). I would 100% order both dishes again. Our server was also friendly, attentive, and gave honest, helpful recommendations. Prices felt fair for the quality, and the overall experience hit all the right notes. We've already recommended it to friends and will definitely be back. A cozy, welcoming spot for comfort food done right.

I left my name and number in case they found it but I wasn't hopeful and was leaving town the next day. Eric found it and gave me a call a couple hours later. He even offered to run it out to me if I called and let them know I was near so we wouldn't have to deal with parking. I've never had a server go above and beyond like this. I don't want to see belly button or back piercings. We had to ask for everything - Splenda, water, nothing came w/o asking. Server spilled creamer all over the floor and a bit on the table. Instead of wiping down the cup or providing another, server left the cup and dripping of cream throughout the meal onto the person. The menu was promising and hard time selecting. Chose the fish and chips. Was told it was a scratch kitchen and was looking forward to homemade fries - unfortunately, they seemed like they were out of a bag and served cold. The fish had so much grease my dining companions watched me squish the grease out before eating. The tartar sauce seemed like mayonnaise with a couple pieces of pickle thrown in. The coleslaw seemed like it came from a bag as well. There was nothing good about this meal except the ketchup. Sadly, we won't be trying the Bowl location.

I know I made it look very pretty in my photos, but don't be fooled. Here is the complete review. We found the green tomatoes bland and appeared to have been frozen before being prepared. The "Gravy Train" with the mini biscuit was inedible. The gravy itself was OK. Nothing special, not one of the three were "great." But the mini biscuits were terrible, hard, dense chunks of dough. I ate one of them and discarded the rest. The "Chicken Ditch the Waffle" was equally terrible. Whatever they did to turn the biscuit into "fake" French toast is a 100% fail. They were as dense and unappealing as the mini biscuits. The chicken itself was fine. If I was only rating the chicken I'd probably give it a 3.5. The best dish was actually the "GOAT." It was served with a Standard biscuit which we thought was still too dense and dry. I recommend finding an independent restaurant that serves real, "from scratch" food. I should point out that the service crew in the dining room who delivered the food as well as provided cleanup and assistance, were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, and focused on customer service. I'm sure they deserve more than they are being paid. It was obvious many of them were spanish-speaking immigrants. Not everyone in the restaurant treated them with the respect and gratitude they deserve. Here's the detail of our order from their menu.
