If you set appropriate expectations this is a typical Chinese buffet and what you should expect, my experiences was very positive. The staff were friendly- from receiving a warm greeting as soon as I walked in the door (and as I was leaving) to my very attentive waitress. The Food and Service were great! We had a large party (14) but we were taken care of and treated very nicely throughout our dinner. It was a Monday night also so it wasn't very busy. Lots of fried food. Crisp veggies. Basic sushi but fresh. Ice cream in cups. I really enjoyed this buffet! The food came out in smallish portions in order to replenish often! I have never seen this before. Their house chicken was SO good and my favorite! Large chunks of white meat chicken friend and sprinkled with a seasoning I could not decifer. We came as a group of three to this Chinese buffet. We got our own food from the buffet. The service was terrible: the waitress poured Coke into our glasses very late, with long delays, and never offered us a bottle so we could pour ourselves. Dirty plates were removed very late -- I even had to clear the table myself multiple times. She basically did nothing else. When the check for $58 came, I refused to add any tip. She deliberately wrote +$6 tip by hand herself at the bottom and told me I had to pay it because there were three of us. She stood there and wouldn't leave until I signed the check under pressure. This is straight-up fraud and theft! Tips in America are completely voluntary -- the customer decides, not the server. She had no right to add her own tip after I clearly refused. This is illegal. I'm not paying for such pathetic "service" -- late refills and slow plate clearing. This was a fraudulent action, and I will be disputing this entire transaction with my bank as an unauthorized charge. Do not recommend this place at all. Highly disappointed with my experience here. My dad and I enjoy Chinese buffets because we can eat cheap, delicious food, so we decided to eat here for our meal after he had a long drive to come to Charlotte. We got to this location at 9:20pm and began eating by 9:25. By 9:30pm, 10 minutes after we had arrived, the food was already being taken away from the buffets! I expressed how we had just arrived and that we wouldn't have eaten here if we knew the food was being taken away already, but the manager only said that he could get me one more hibachi plate. I was livid. I gathered as much of the stale, dry, and abandoned food on the buffet that I could before it was taken away. It's obvious that the food had been sitting out for a couple hours and not restocked intentionally. Not only that, but the manager then said that they close at 10pm instead of their posted 10:30pm Friday time! They began rushing us out of the restaurant, so I had to shovel down as much food as I could before being kicked out and having to pay $60 for two people!!! This food is neither cheap, nor delicious. I will never be returning to this location again! No one eat here that values a good meal, it won't be found here, only empty buffets. read more

This is awkwardly located next to a 6 lane road and is a bit of a hole in the wall but if you want some great American Chinese food, this is the best I've had in Charlotte. For all you NYC folk, this is your best chance of getting Chinese food and tastes like home. A true "greasy spoon" spot, this place has great turnover on a Saturday afternoon so the food looked fresh; plenty of families dining and they all look like this is their go-to place. It's 20 minutes away but I would make the trek if I was really craving Chinese food. Service was great - was greeted and seated right away and with a smile. This has been our GO-TO Chinese buffet since about 2014! Every single time we go, the food is always delicious and on point. They offer hibachi grill, ample selection of sushi, fruit, salad, and regular Chinese food along with a selection of dessert. There is never a wait for us to get a table, and even when we have gone and it's been super busy,there is never a wait. There is plenty of table seating and a wide open seating plan. Service is always great, and the waitresses to the hostess are always super friendly and accommodating. They always check the food to make sure they refill quickly, and we hardly ever get any food that seems that it has been sitting there for a while. They do offer plenty of parking spaces to choose from. For a good variety of food, I definitely recommend this Chinese Buffet. read more

Got here before 8pm. This particular buffet is located in a very dangerous location as it's right at a corner of a highway off 74. Hard and dangerous to pull in and out. The outside looks cool! But the main reason you come here is way below par. There's a reason when you walk in you don't see any Chinese people eating at a china buffet. There's not a single Chinese dish on the Chinese buffet. This is your typical American Chinese buffet. Nothing was good. Everything sitting for hours. I've been here before and it wasn't terrible in the past but after today I will never return. Utterly insane that we paid 75 dollars for 3 adults at 630 on a Thursday evening. I sat some gooey egg drop soup on my table alongside some sushi that had been sitting out WAY too long. My soup was cold. Legit cold. The sushi had dry edges around the entire piece(s). Decent for a Chinese buffet. I've had better and I've had worse. This one was definitely in the A-OK range. Seated quickly and off to the buffet, there was a good stock of plates ready. The steam tables were low on some items and it seemed like the kitchen was more focused on platters of delivery items being cooked and foiled up then placed on trolleys and taken out. This continued for about a half hour and then things improved some. I managed to stick to a keto-in-spirit eating program by avoiding the noodles and rice and battered. I did one trip to the hibachi that was mostly beef and onions and peppers, but the chef overcooked them to beyond well done. The beef turned tough. The sushi selections looked good and not all of them were covered in sauces. Some basic sashimi items there were nice. I skipped dessert and did not drink soda. $14 or so was fair for the amount and the quality of food. They also have a free wifi. My waitress kept my water refilled and cleared dishes promptly. This has to be one of the worst Chinese buffet I have been to. I had a couple of dishes starting with their lo mein noodles, it was dry and tasted rubbery as if it was reheated in the microwave, the bourbon chicken, it was burnt and greasy and very bitter. I was very disappointed in their seafood, I had crawfish, mussels and the soft shell crab, let's start with the crawfish, I cracked it open and the meat just fell apart and dry as the Sahara Desert. The mussels were fine and so was the soft shell crab. When it came time to check out we got our check and the waitress came and got our card and cashed us out. As she comes back and the receipt for me to sign she stood over my shoulder and demanded a tip. I alway tip but I never had a waitress stand there and demand me to tip before. I told her no and left. Okay after a year long search for a second buffet I think that this one will be my backup when I am on this side of town. It has all of the usual standard food that you see on the typical buffet, the service is good and the prices are around the same as other hibachi buffets. We went for lunch and paid $9.99 + two soft drinks and the tip. My only criticism is that its smaller than other buffets that I have been to. Booth sizes are a bit on the small size for 3 people and no steamed garlic strings beans....very strange considering that this item has been on every Chinese buffet that I have been to. For a Chinese buffet, this place is as pretty good as it gets. China Buffet just opened on Independence Blvd where an old Olive Garden used to be. It can be a little tricky to get to, but it's worth the stop. They've made some HUGE improvements inside and out, giving it a beautiful, modern appearance. The restaurant was very clean inside, and a lot of details were put into the decor and dining rooms. The most imaginative is the entrance to the restaurant where it looks/feels like you're standing underneath a starlit evening sky. The doorway leading into the restaurant rivals PF Chang's as well. The food offerings were pretty extensive and flavorful. I sampled several items and nowhere near tried even a quarter of the items on the multiple buffet tables. There's something for everyone, including kids who may be fussy about foods. The sushi offerings were greater than most Chinese buffets; there were more unique offerings than the traditional California roll. And I didn't even get to touch the big salad bar or the made-to-order Hibachi option! The price was pretty reasonable for dinner, too, considering all of the items that China Buffet had to offer. Everything was great, and it's probably the only Chinese buffet in the Charlotte area I'd consider in the future. read more

I tried a lot of choice and all of them were nasty including what came from the sushi bar. My husband had some soup with veggies in it and the corn on the cob that was in it was cold in the middle . Well. This used to be a place we stopped in to for lunch or dinner when on this side of town, however this visit was a 1 star visit. Whoever the manager is, a lady, refused to take off my lunch that I didn't like. I tried to explain that the chicken was slimy, and left the entire meal still sitting there. Not one of those "I ate half, now I don't want to pay for it" kind of situations. Now, the dish was $7.99. Not something I can't afford. But the best part was when she came to my table, and said "it's your fault for ordering it. We make it that way and everyone likes it. It must be that you're the only one who doesn't. I can give you half price but that's the best I can do. You ordered it" Wow. That was the last time they will ever see me darken their door. However. Not only was this a typical Sunday Buffett atmosphere where the crowd was thick and the team looked stressed out, which I'm normally okay with, just this alone tells me I'm probably not the only one who gets this royal treatment. No longer do I recommend this location. They couldn't spare $7.99, to take off a silly little plate their customer didn't like. What I liked: A lot of food options (and fresh sushi) for a very cheap price. They also had a pho/noodle bar but I didn't try it because I wanted to fill up on the sushi. What I didn't like: The sushi chef wasn't putting out any new rolls at a sufficient rate... When I first arrived there was a moderate amount of rolls and good variety. As time went by there was less and less sushi available because people were getting it, which makes sense. But for some reason the sushi chef wasn't making any more! I thought that when the sushi supply was low, he would make lots of new fresh rolls but after 30+ minutes, nothing happened. Second, the seafood options are meh. The clams I had were great, but the squid was so tough and nearly impossible to chew enough to swallow. The cheese concoction on the mussels was also very weird tasting and I couldn't eat it at all without feeling nauseated. Overall, I'll probably be going back again for sushi cravings when I want to eat a lot for a cheap price, but probably earlier so that I can get more of the sushi before they run out. read more

Someone on here said just the sushi is worth the price, well said! The sushi chef here is very good, some great rolls like rainbow and nigiri. The noodle soup was ok, didnt taste that great, only tried the duck noodle soup. The hibachi has only noodle for starch, but has scallop(small), shrimp, beef, chicken etc. Hibachi tasted good, lot of sauce option. I likes the garlic sauce. The seafood soup makes me question where the seafood is. Has frog legs, steamed fish, crabs, this awesome mousse for dessert that comes in strawberry and chocolate flavor. The only down side is it is right on independence and mannn it's hard to turn in when traffic is going so fast. Their plates have the restaurant logo and the entrance is nice. read more
