We chose Nine One Five for my birthday dinner and it ended up being one of our favorite meals of the trip. We sat on the front porch, which was my favorite place in the restaurant. Great people watching, a relaxed atmosphere, and exactly the kind of setting we were hoping for in Key West. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. The martinis were excellent, and every dish we ordered was a hit. We started with the ahi tuna, which was fresh, light, and the perfect way to start the meal. For dinner I had the fish special over risotto, and my husband had the homemade bolognese. Both were fantastic. It's hard to say which was better because we kept trading bites back and forth. To finish the evening, they surprised me with a pineapple upside down cake for my birthday, complete with a sparkler. It was a fun ending to an already memorable meal. Really cool vibe of this restaurant- an old house on Duval street, covered in plants and vines, with seating outside and inside (front yard, lower and upper wrap around deck, rooms in the house). There's a bar inside on both floors, and separate rooms with long tables for big parties. Cool wallpaper, decor, and music- ambiance is 10/10. I ordered the cheese board (SKIP- it's average and tastes like it's out of a lunchbox), and the bacon wrapped dates that are stuffed with blue cheese (the bacon was extra crispy, the blue cheese both chunky and creamy, and it really was the perfect bite). Also ordered the beef bolognese pappardelle (homemade al dente noodles with a creamy sauce and large chunks of Wagyu beef) and the whole yellowtail snapper. The whole yellowtail snapper is their signature dish and it was the star. The fish was fresh, flaky, and juicy, with a crispy skin; and the Thai fish sauce paired perfectly with the fish. Our entrees, though very small in size, packed a flavor of punch. For the area, this was a pricier spot we went on our trip (although we do find everywhere in Key West to be pricier). Definitely a spot you'll need reservations. Highly recommend just sitting at the small bar in the main area, it was a total vibe. We did have the strangest experience with our waitress, she barely spoke to us. She was possibly the most unfriendly server we've encountered. We figured she must have been going through something and everyone is allowed bad days, but it was quite a shame that it tarnished our experience. Our experience here was very average. The best thing was the fries we shared with our cocktails. Thin, crispy and hot and served in a paper cone. They were really good. We had the fresh catch special which was grouper for $50 and the whole fried snapper which I believe was $39. The grouper came with a couple shrimp, but the portion was very small. Maybe 4 ounces and it was a thin fillet. It didn't really look like grouper. It came over a huge plate of pasta. The snapper looked beautiful, but it had a taste like older oil. I ate it, but the oil taste was not good. It was served with a bowl of rice that was very dry and uninspired. I assume it's cooked in advance, but it was not good. We decided at the last minute to go here and ended up with a perfect evening. Sitting outside by the sidewalk, we started with a very reasonably priced bottle of Albariño. Since we had skipped lunch, a big dinner was in order: fried cauliflower and bacon wrapped dates for appetizers; then seafood soup and grouper for dinner. Five stars to the appetizers. Our first time in Key West, and this was our very first meal. Strolling down Duval Avenue, we came across this place and were impressed with the menu. So we went in without a reservation, hoping to get a table for two. There was a lot to like about this place, but unfortunately the execution fell short. Food: We weren't very hungry, so we ordered several appetizers, which I personally love since it allows for more variety. We started with two specialty cocktails: the Private Label Old Fashioned and the Bubba Salted Caramel Martini. And when they say salted, they really mean it. It looked like the glass had literally fallen into the salt tray. I ended up wiping most of it off with a napkin. That said, the flavor of both drinks was good. For food, we began with the Zucchini Fritters, which the server said were a local favorite. They were very tasty, but the presentation was a mess. The tzatziki looked like it had been smeared across the plate without much care. The fritters themselves were nice and hot, flavorful, and paired well with the cool, refreshing sauce. We followed that with the Grilled Octopus and the Ahi Tuna Gravlax. The octopus was nicely grilled, tender, and served at a good temperature, although the chickpeas were a bit bland. Again, the presentation lacked attention to detail. The ahi tuna, however, was excellent in both flavor and presentation. Service: We didn't have reservations, but there was first-come seating on the second floor, and several tables were open. Unfortunately, the service throughout the meal was very spotty. After being seated and receiving water, we waited about 10 minutes before the server returned with menus and took our drink order. The drinks also took some time to arrive. After our food was served, we didn't see our server again for quite a while. We felt largely forgotten, and other nearby tables appeared to be experiencing the same thing. The server was friendly and pleasant, but didn't seem particularly attentive or engaged. Atmosphere: The space itself is charming, with multiple seating areas and nice views of the activity along Duval Street. We had a secluded spot on the second floor, which was very pleasant. There are bars on both floors, and the overall energy was lively. It was occasionally loud, but not so much that it interfered with conversation. This could have easily been a place we would have returned to. Unfortunately, the inconsistent service and lack of attention to presentation made it fall short. This restaurant generally receives strong reviews, so perhaps it was just an off night. I also noticed afterward that the octopus dish previously included two tentacles (based on photos from last fall), but now only includes one. It's unclear whether the price was adjusted accordingly. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in Key West, and unfortunately this one didn't make our list for a return visit. read more

Out of this world dinner this evening at Nine One Five! Service great, food and beverages amazing, ambiance chic Key West. It's not a big place, but that's the key! Found online from reviews, and so glad we found it! Dani was our waitress, 10/10, thank you ma'am! However our waitress was cold towards me and another member of our party and I feel like it was due to the fact that we requested substitutions/removals due to extreme allergies. I am allergic to avocado and requested the Cesar salad without avocado which she did do, however I still had a reaction and am suspicious that the dressing contained avocado oil. My friend is allergic to egg, diary, and peanuts and the fries as a side, when she requested that the fries not come with the sauce our waitress was insistent that it was fine to come with it since the sauce was on the side anyways and was pretty aggressive about it. The food was outstanding! I would honestly give the food 6 stars if I could. My she-crab ravioli was amazing!!! The drinks were pretty good too but where it fell short for me was the service. Honestly, Key West is such a chill and relaxed vibe and we had nothing but welcoming and friendly service every where but here. While the order was correct and everything came to the table effectively, the service was just cold and uninterested. We were also celebrating our wedding anniversary there that night and received zero acknowledgment of our special occasion. Not even a congratulations from any one which I thought was a fail for a restaurant of this caliber. The ambiance is very nice, the garden and the porch seating is very pretty. The whole yellowtail snapper was awful. The snapper was dry as could be and presentation not much as basically just laid over chopped cabbage. Also, the snapper dish is suppose to have a thai sauce but the rice accompanying was basmati, and besides that Thai food goes with Jasmine instead, the Basmati was just bad. She could see we only had 2 of 4. After the waiter brought us water and we ordered our starter he went away...we missed the chance to order drinks...he didn't ask. . We had a lovely dinner at Restaurant 915 during our trip to Key West. The upstairs patio seating is first come, first served -- and absolutely worth the wait. Sitting outside in the warm evening breeze, with a view of Duval Street below, really set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable night. The pasta dishes were definitely the highlight -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. That said, the portions were on the small side, and with Key West prices, it added up quickly. We ended up ordering a second round of pasta because we were still a bit hungry after the first. We also tried the beet salad, which was fine, but next time we'd probably just double down on the pasta. I had a glass of sauvignon blanc, which was crisp and refreshing in the Florida heat. My partner went with an Aperol spritz -- it missed the mark flavor-wise, not quite the classic recipe, but he still enjoyed it. Our server was fantastic -- super friendly, attentive, and great with our two kids. Restaurant 915 has that quintessential Key West charm -- housed in a historic home with tropical plants all around and a casual, coastal vibe that makes you want to linger. We visited Nine One Five for dinner on a Saturday night in mid October 2025. Very, very good, overall. I'll start with what vexed me and then celebrate the excellent and tasty food. We selected this establishment for an Anniversary dinner after plenty of research. There seems to be a shocking lack of sushi on Key West so we knew we wanted some of the local, lauded seafood. I made a reservation for two and very specially stated inside and not shared bench seating. As soon as we arrived, on time, I reiterated my request nicely of the hostess. The hostess (who was frankly not all that overly courteous) said it's full inside because they had a large group. We were given a table outside despite my reasonable and courteous request. Just so you know, Key West is humid; so I sweated through much of dinner. There were fans but in my book that is insufficient. At a minimum, I would have liked to get a sincere apology from the manager. I'm never looking for free stuff; it's the principal of the matter. Not wanting to ruin dinner, or the occasion, I acquiesced to the outside, porch table. Fortunately, the food and drink were excellent. For drinks, I enjoyed an excellently crafted The Nine One Five and also a Private Label Old Fashioned. My wife stayed with nice Chardonnay. For starters, we tried the Burrata and also the Grilled Octopus. For main, my wife raved about the sushi grade Ahi Tuna entree. I settled on the Soul Mama Seafood Soup; it was a 10/10! The hearty soup had a delicate Thai cream base with plenty of variety of seafood. It was excellent! Of note, all of the seafood was very fresh. The fish all around were clearly fresh caught as were the shrimp and shellfish. I recommend this restaurant. I would go again but I would absolutely get a prior verbal guarantee for an inside table from a Manager. The Service was fully professional all around. We decided to try Nine Oh Five for dinner on Duval Street. This is a very charming older 2 story house that has been converted into a restaurant and bar. It is decorated to match the age of the house and is very stylish for that era. We loved the ambiance. We chose to sit upstairs on the balcony so that we could watch the always busy Duval St action. Our server, Heather, was friendly and helpful with the menu. Her recommendations were the She-Crab Ravioli and the Garden Ravioli. Both were delicious! We accompanied our dinner with a Mango Breeze and a Casamigos Respasado. For dessert, we shared their Bread Pudding, which was so good. We had a great time and would definitely go back on our next trip. Parking is difficult to find but try the side streets. We took the stairs to get to the 2nd floor. This is our go to place for special occasions or when we have guests in town. Wonderful small plates the general Tao's cauliflower is unbelievable along with the "devils", a delightful palette pleaser. My husband had the salmon again, his favorite, and such a great presentation, I settled for their burger, which was great, it came with a cone of fries( the best on the island) and we shared the roasted beet salad. My son loved the burrata appetizer but we thought the cucumber and crab salad was mostly some unrecognizable noodle and not much else. My son loved the whole fried snapper, but my wife and I both got the she-crab ravioli and thought the sauce was a big negative (should have been a pesto or red sauce instead of a non descript brown sauce). One of the best and most satisfying meals I've had in awhile. Accompanied by outstanding service Nine One Five is absolutely fantastic. The ahi tuna dish was outstanding. The vegetables were so delicious we almost didn't care about the tuna. They weren't some exotic vegetables either, just simple ingredients being well prepared and elevated to perfection. My husband doesn't particularly care for cauliflower and devoured the General Tso's! Personally I loved the Devils! Not something I would normally order especially with blue cheese and I really enjoyed them. The beef carpaccio was excellent as well! Great wine list! This restaurant is simply outstanding, and while not being inexpensive, it felt like a great value with food quality and service feeling way above its actual price point.
