I think maybe some of these reviewers didn't get a chance to order some of the top dishes here. I think those dishes alone should make you want to come here. I had the lobster quesadilla, elote, & beef tinga mole enchilada. That quesadilla is unbelievably tasty. It must have the right ratio of cheese and lobster and whatever other magical ingredients the restaurant puts in it. The elote is a more embellished version of what I usually have in the streets of LA. That heavy flavoring is more than enough for me. The mole is also very very good. We ventured toward Mallory Square to watch a Key West Sunset to sit on the deck at the Opal Key Resort as we do each year. To our surprise the restaurant had be rebranded. We were seated quickly water side and given cold water and menus quickly. We reviewed the menu and chose Mayan cornbread and two cocktails; the Spiked Churro Martini and Guava Island. Luckily, we had reservations so the wait was under 15 mins for us, but there were some parties that were walk ins and shared frustrations with the long wait despite many tables being empty. My bf and I came here the other night and let me tell you we have been dying to come back ever since. This is a new spot in Key West and we are so happy they're here!!! We are going to be regulars!! To drink I ordered the Guava Island and swapped out the tequila for vodka. It was really delicious and refreshing. To eat we ordered a bunch of appetizers, we tried the Queso Fundido, the Charred Octopus, the Yuca Rellena Con Queso, Tamales, Mexican Cornbread, and then the Beef Tinga Tacos. Yes... all of that. To make a long story short we enjoyed most of everything. The only thing we thought was just okay was the tamale. It didn't seem to have any meat in it so it was bland. The Mexican Cornbread we are having withdrawals from.... It was so, so good. Need that again. The tacos seem to have come on FRESH blue corn taco shells and I just love that. Overall our time here was wonderful we sat at the bar with Heather and she was great. We devoured everything and were blown away. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset! Get there early to grab a table because the wait will be long and there is no really system for getting a table on the patio. You just have to wait in line for someone to get up. We waiting about 40 minutes. Once we finally snagged a table the service was a little slow. The two waiters were very busy running around though. The lobster quesadilla was really good. The ceviche was good too but was way too saucy and although the menu says plantains chips it only comes with 3 little chips. I've eaten here twice and the food was great both times. The menu is comprehensive and there are many unexpected options. The first time I had fish tacos and my friend had beef. Tonight I had the stuffed poblano which was really different and delicious. It included great flavors I don't think I've had before. My friend had chicken tacos and really enjoyed them. We both got the refried beans which were super tasty and the guacamole which was excellent. My only gripe--and it may be my palate--is that the cocktails were too sweet. Love the ambience! They were able to seat 10 of us inside on very short notice. The waitress - Kani - was sooo attentive and friendly. She loved my kids! The food speaks for itself. The guacamole was the best some of us had ever had, with the spiced chips. I got shrimp tacos, my mom had fish tacos and they were the perfect size. My nephew had the rotisserie chicken nachos - omg, not only a HUGE portion, but The queso sauce on top was to die for!!! My husband had the grouper sandwich it was massive, on fresh crunchy bread with some sort of lime sauce and caramelized onions. Absolutely delicious. Everyone loved their food. Portions are great and the servers are awesome. A lady came around frequently refilling our water cups without us having to ask which was really nice considering our large group with a bunch of kids. We were a big party of 13-14 (and most if not all have/are servers) so we all understood it was a busy night. Once we were remembered it was a normal dinner. The highlight was the food. Waiter told me they have only been open for about three weeks. Lolita's had been recommended by one of the locals so we stopped by. At first we were told no available seating but they then came back and said they could work us in. The atmosphere is very nice and I noticed most of the tables had "reserved" on them. Jonathan took our orders and we started with the Chile con Queso. It was very good but we ran out of chips half way thru we asked for more chips. Once I got the bill I noticed I was charged $4 for the additional chips. I got the grilled chorizo. It was very good and the red sauce was delicious. My son got the ribs and they were very tender and the spices gave it a slightly different taste profile that was nice. 1 star because you can't put 0. We had planned to eat at the Key West location out of a recommendation from our hotel. We arrived at 8pm and saw at least 5 tables available. The host was rude from the start and put out that we wanted to eat and drink at the restaurant with a larger group. We told him we were willing to be separated and dine at different tables. He was a complete a$$ and refused to make any accommodations. Did I mention it was 8PM way past prime hours and tables were obviously available. We ended up going to a more friendly location and spent $2,000 dollars on dinner and drinks. I just want the ownership to know they missed out on this money. If it's just a drop in the bucket, cool. No 2k $$$ for you I guess. Oh and we won't consider this business in the future because of the poor standards your host exhibited! read more

We were seated for 15 minutes before someone comes out and pours us water without explanation, not even making eye contact. We sat there another 10 minutes with multiple opportunities for servers to make eye contact and come greet us, but they missed each opportunity. We finally got up and left. So sad. I was looking forward to trying this new restaurant. They have lots of outdoor seating and an indoor dining room as well. Some reviews talk about a great sunset view, but all we had was a giant cruise ship blocking the view. We decided to eat inside and the atmosphere was nice. The server was nice, but was very new and had to check with the kitchen for some basic questions. Chips and salsa are $9. You get a platter of chips and three bowls of salsa. They were good. The Tamale appetizer was one good size tamale, but it has no stuffing. The whole thing was masa. It came with pico and a cheese/corn sauce you could eat with the masa. We also had the flautas which were two large ones. Unfortunately the flautas were not crispy. It seemed like the oil wasn't hot enough when they fried them so they were greasy. The stuffing was very good. For mains we had the chicken mole and the ribs. The ribs were good. A little bit dry but dipped in the sauce they were good. I choose the sweet potato hash as a side which I did not care for. The chicken mole was 1/2 rotisserie chicken served on top of a base of Mole sauce. This was the best dish. The chicken was moist and the mole was excellent. The side of tortillas were nice and charred. However there was not enough mole for the chicken so we asked for more. We were charged $3 for the extra sauce. We had a margarita and a martini. The margarita was really good, but for the martini they only had hot pepper, or blue cheese stuffed olives. I've never been somewhere that doesn't have regular olives. We ordered too much food and skipped desert, but the choices looked good. I think this place has good potential, but they need to improve some items. I would skip the chips and salsa unless you are a party of four. It was too much for two. The prices were reasonable for Key West. I will try again once they are open for a while. read more

Definitely the best meal I've had in Key West, my coworker recommended it to me and I'm so glad I decided to follow their advice. They nailed the elevated Mexican concept from their decor, overall aesthetic and menu. The cocktails were amazing, especially the picante passion fruit margarita. Everything we ordered was phenomenal, my favorites were the chicken flautas, elote, and the churrasco steak. The plating was beautiful and the flavors were perfectly combined. Our server Georgie was also amazing and very attentive and gave us excellent recommendations. I will definitely be returning and hope to eventually work my way through their menu!
