We enjoyed our stay here. All except the price. Four nites for a double queen bed room was over $1400! The website states prices up front so I can't complain too much. Of the 4 nite reservation we stayed only 2. No cancellations were allowed. No Veterans discount. The lodge is vintage 1960's and has been updated several times. Our room was small tho we had a patio door that is advertised as private. People walked the patio in route to the outside pool or restaurant. The walls remain paper thin and conversations in the adjacent rooms were pretty clear. The room had modern amenities. A very quiet wall AC. The bathroom had a shower, no tub. Staff was very polite & respectful. I left a set of my keys in the room when checking out. Never got a call inquiring if they were mine. Continental breakfast was typical western fare. Assorted fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, fried potato's. bacon, juices & muffins, assorted juices aplenty. We were happy. Plenty of seating in the mountain, lake view dinning room. We did not try the dinner menu nor visit the separate bar decorated in early western style. Nearest town is Ronan a few miles away. I have difficulty understanding the high price. We've recently stayed at nicer hotels in better locations at 1/3 the price. I won't be going back. read more

Went to the restaurant for a birthday i ordered pulled pork sandwich meat hard and cold bun hard , other 3 people order chicken clubs dry meat and buns same 1 person order chicken fettichine noodles not cooked and chicken dry and chewy also cold and server spilt drinks on table none of us were impressed with the food and the menu is spendy . Poor service at front desk. Horrible food (how do you screw up a burger?). Took 45 mins to get a drink, over an hour to get served. Oh, the "free" appetizer for making reservations....non-existent. I was given a gift card for the Salt Water Spa for Christmas and was really excited to use it as a local in the area. I called several times over a period of time to see if there were openings to come soak. Most of the time they were too busy, which I completely respected and understood. Eventually I was able to call and book a time to come down. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk staff member (I believe her name was Justine) was not very pleasant. She was quite rude on the phone when I asked questions about how the gift cards worked and how to book a time for the soak. When we arrived, we were told that my gift card couldn't actually be used for the saltwater spa and was only valid for the restaurant or bar. She did say she would honor it, which I appreciated, but the whole interaction felt very uncomfortable, like she was frustrated that we were even there. It was surprising, especially because we were the only guests there at the time. The spa itself is beautiful, the temperature was perfect, and it's truly a unique and relaxing experience. However, the service unfortunately took away from what could have been a great visit. For reference, it was $90 for three people, including a 7-year-old child. I went to the bar to order cocktails to drink spa side and waited about 15 minutes with no staff in sight. I politely asked the front desk if someone might be able to help, but again the response felt rude and unwelcoming. It's really unfortunate because this is such a cool feature in our area. As a local, I'm happy to support businesses and pay for experiences like this, but the service made it feel very unwelcoming. I truly hope management can address this because the spa itself is wonderful. read more

The food was bad the Ahi tasted like fish bad fish you know bad spoiled fish, the chicken was from a frozen box microwaved, waitress dropped the food of and would not come back, when I told the person at the front desk the manager came out and asked if I new someone that could cook to let her know since when do you pay $20.00 for a frozen microwaved chicken breast with bad tuna when I pushed her she told me to leave. I tried to talk to her about the people trying to find a different hotel because of the MOLD smell in their room. She then told me to never come back. When we walked in the smell of mold was over whelming. DO NOT stay or eat here. JUST bad food and unhealthy lodging. read more

Where do I begin. My first stay was in a king room. Very nice. This time it's the loud highway and super 8 vibe in a queen room. Insanely soft crap mattress. Then the new hot pool which was on and functioning we were told earlier tonight and tomorrow was a paid party which includes the pool, not hotel guests. Needless to say pool was empty tonight and staff said just go in. We checked gate w bartender and then when we went to soak it has padlocks on it. Cute lodge with great views. All the sunset rooms face the parking lot and highway. You really do not hear the traffic. We got in early and they said our room isn't ready but for 20.00 they can clean it first... for the prices of the rooms they charge the same as a high end hotel. Rooms are clean, nice size fridge, bed was comfy which is good we both have aches n pains. Soaps, shampoos and lotion in pumps in the room. The dinners here were very good I must say, prices were comparable to other nice restaurants. The breakfast is fresh fruit, eggs, sausage and bacon. Juices, coffee and tea. I'm a coffee snob so I walked next door to get a coffee. I also ended getting a scone at the coffee shop and it was delish! I would check trip advisor etc. for prices because my friend paid less. We ended up leaving a day earlier many places near by are closed on Sundays. Keep that in mind. read more

First time dropping into Ninepipes after a drive through the National Bison Reserve. We had visited the cool museum at Ninepipes but dining there was new. When we arrived for our early dinner, we were warmly greeted and seated at their best available table. Our server was very sweet and informative. They have a broad menu with all sorts of interesting options although we were told that they are best known for their steaks. I had their Indian Taco Fried Bread. It was basically wild game chili and taco fixings on top of fried bread. It was delicious. My wife had medium-rare prime rib, baked potato and asparagus, all without his so it could be gluten-free. Her meal was outstanding. Ninepipes earned future visits from us. It is a great spot to visit when traveling between Missoula and Kalispell. The food is great, the venue is beautiful, and the nearby museum and coffee shop make this more than just a restaurant. read more

What an incredible view!!! Small little lodge in the middle of nowhere, large rooms with a little porch out back that overlooks the mission mountains and a lake. They have a bar and a dining room inside. Got to enjoy dinner at the dining room and the food was delish!! Tried the prime rib dipper and everything was cooked exquisitely. Only complain is a staff member was walking up and down the hallway with big boots and the rolling cart all night long...wasn't able to catch much sleep. Hopefully that's an anomaly though. And to top everything off another waitress that I believe is named holly came in and decided to bad mouth another customer right to us, and as well to other customers. What everyone else said about the view is so true! It's a great place to stop on a trip between Missoula and Bigfork or Kalispell. We have had dinner here with international visitors. It's also fun to watch the turtles on the logs and see the swallows catching bugs. But, maybe a woman traveling alone trying to check email after some technical issues with a client project is not quite so welcome. This evening, I ordered a Mediterranean salad and a drink, which was very nice. Well, it was nice until my bill was plopped down halfway through my salad. It seemed like an invitation to leave now. OK, I'm leaving now. I can have additional dinner and drink in Missoula. read more

What a gem! Exceptional food and service in the restaurant and the rooms are cozy and clean. The French press coffee set up in the room was a cool, unique touch. Did I mention the view? Most people probably race past this place on their way to/from Glacier and Missoula, but it's worth stopping and spending a few hours. Between hanging out at the lodge, touring the amazing Ninepipes Museum and pursuing the cute and funky gift shop, it's well worth making a special stop or trip for the day. read more

We didn't even get a chance to stay at the lodge which is the sad part of this situation. My brother had passed away in the local town of Charlo, MT and myself and family had come up last minute to stay to take care of his property. When I was booking online at hotels.com, the date prompted me to a date a month ahead. I didn't realize that which was my fault. We showed up thinking we had a room but was mistaken. They we're unfortunately full and we had to get a room in Polson. Not much sympathy on our mistake or the loss of our family member. This is not where the 1 star comes from though. They did the best they can I'd imagine. The 1 star comes from the cancellation policy. Talking with hotels.com and nine pipes lodge, they would not refund any of the rooms because of their policy. Even with a quick mistake made on hotels.com's sight, not only we didn't have a place to stay, they wouldn't refund over $200+ in our transactions. I wrote directly to nine pipes to see if there was any thing they can do because our situation was so different, but there was no response at all. Hotels.com response was we can't do anything because it's their policy. This is by far one of the saddest experiences in hospitality I've ever experienced. I owned a restaurant and worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years and this just makes me sick to my stomach. The fact that no one would respond or have any sympathy of our situation of our brother passing is just a slap in the face. I truly hope that this experience does not happen to anyone else because when you are in the times of grieving the last thing you need is complications with a hotel. read more

Stopped by here on our way to glacier national park-was such an unexpected surprise! The hotel is family run so it had a very warm friendly feel to it. Food was good and rooms were clean. Wifi in room worked well. Overall it was very Montana-esqe. I'm from California and nine pipes had a very lodge-y feel like I expected. Especially the decor in the bar. The view from the back is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommended if you're passing through the area! read more

Ninepipes is a terrific little spot - and I do mean little. The facility is warm and inviting, with comfortable beds and decent televisions (DirecTV). The rooms are simply appointed, no phones, perhaps even a bit spartan, but very clean. It dIdn't matter all that much though, when you consider the quiet surroundings and the amazing food! Had a comfortable stay here while working in nearby Polson and would return again without hesitation. The desk and restaurant staff were very polite. The free breakfast was simple, but enough to get me through the morning (good coffee), but the stand-outs were the meals I had at lunch - hand-carved corned beef on my Reuben - and the Prime Rib dinner with clam chowder appetizer was perfect! Even better however - a must-have recommendation for anyone visiting - you have to try the Huckleberry-Rhubarb Crisp (comes warm with two scoops of vanilla-bean ice cream - yum!) - I had to apologize to my grandmother (R.I.P.) after tasting this dessert - it was that good! Many thanks to the Ninepipes Lodge for the great experience - I won't forget it. read more

This is a scenic rustic large log structure along Highway 93 S. Clean, quiet, convenient. Near a Native American Museum, a major bird watcher slough and 14 miles from the National Bison Range where you can take a self driving ten mile dirt road through an animal haven with unlimited scenic mtn views. We saw bison, elk, antelope, deer and a black bear. read more

I've stayed here before and was pleased so I rented the honeymoon suite specifically for the hot tub.........When I filled the hot tub and turned on the jets, a LOT of nasty "stuff came out of them and filled the tub!!! I took pictures and went down to the front desk, The night clerk said that he wasn't authorized to refund my money and the Manager would not be in until Monday!! He did give me a brand new bottle of bleach and I went back to the room and poured bleach into all of the jets and cleaned the tub..... after quite a bit of cleaning I got it clean enough that I wasn't grossed out by getting in it to soak!! I had taken pictures and left my name and number at the front desk so that the manager could contact me when he got in............long story short, I called multiple times and stopped in to talk to the manager on a few occasions, only to be told that he was busy!!! I waited several weeks and still have not gotten a return call!! read more

Everything here was great. I asked for extra bacon and for the first time got more bacon than I could eat! Dinner was very good, herbed crusted chicken very moist!
