They could use a pull out table from the wall because there isn't a lot of seating. Two fold up chairs were under the futon. It's priced appropriately but could use some easy updates.

The Wheelhouse where we stayed has a nautical theme with a full size ships wheel facing the front window overlooking Kachemak Bay and the mountains behine the Bay. This is a large 2 story cabin and just my wife and I stayed here so there was plenty of room, which we both enjoyed immensly. Donna's main "Goto" guy is Ric who did a tremendous job of introducing us to the ammenities that the property offered. All appliances are modern and worked perfectly. The kitchen shelves and the refrigerator were stocked with most every accoutrement and essential spice one could desire to make themselves feel at home. Donna had tbutter, banana bread, apples and bananas ready for our stay. The beds were quite comfortable as were the couches and chairs in the living room. The bookshelves and many nooks abounded with reading material pertaining to the Kenai Peninsula area as well as history of Homer itself. I definitely will recommend this place to anyone who is tired of the hotel and motel life and wants to expand their horizons and relax a bit.

It's not exactly a wilderness location -- the cabins are right off the road with neighbors close by but it's such a pretty spot right on the lake. The kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need to prepare and serve meals. There's a big grill on the deck and a chest freezer out back to store all your salmon in. Alas, I went float tube fishing for trout with a large group of ladies and all we caught was one trout so the freezer was empty for my two-night stay. The lake cabin has a king-sized bed downstairs and three twins up in the loft. It was clean and conveniently located just outside Soldotna.
