The restaurant itself is very well decorated., it definitely has that Japanese Steak House feel. The staff is not very talkative. I sat at the bar and the chefs haven't said so much as a word to me. The server takes my order and promptly brings me my soup, salad and tea. The salad is particularly nice. It has a very light honey mustard dressing that really makes it pop. The soup is good. Nothing to write home about. The upside down shrimp are very goods but impossible to eat. The shrimp are very thinly cut so they have no stiffness to hold the toppings. But, they are very flavorful and filling. The bento box needs a lot of work, you are only utilizing half the plate with a hint of cabbage under the chicken. I would highly recommend you reexamine this dish. It's really very depressing. The flavors are there, it just looks like the clearance bin after Christmas. Pretty good food, but honestly my wife and I were pretty middle of the road on Thai place. It's not bad at all but we've had better food at other places (and worse as well). We usually don't take too much stake in people's restaurant critiques, because people can have weird expectations. Being from LA, we have experienced a lot of sushi restaurants. Sushi Ninja was impressive. The ambiance, menus and the size of the restaurant were very nice. We had a sashimi plate w/assorted fish, which was displayed very nice and was fresh and tasty. My wife and I shared the Scott and Cedar rolls, both were very good. They also had a great happy hour menu with great pricing. We will definitely be coming back w/our friends and family. read more

The place is well decorated. The serving staff were warm and friendly. The chef at our Hibachi table absolutely fabulous and extremely entertaining. They seated us with a family with 4 of the most adorable and well behaved children and yes they were good kids. We had so much fun! We were celebrating 42 years of marriage. Ninja has upped its sushi game! There is a new sushi chef in town, a transplant from New York, Stanley. We sat at the sushi bar, he actually came out, introduced himself and asked what kind of sushi we liked. We ordered yellowtail and salmon sashimi. WOW! The fish was so fresh, it melted in my mouth! The scallop nigiri was super good too. We asked Stanley to make us two of his favorite rolls. I now have a new favorite roll or should I say sandwich!? It's not on the menu and it's like nothing I have ever had. I can't even tell you what was in it, but it blew my mind, I ordered a second! I've struggled with consistently good sushi in Southern Utah, but tonight, at Ninja we had some of the best, fresh fish I've ever had! And this makes me very happy!!! Pretty big place- it's clean and food is great. Came here on Thursday night and they had Sushi Hour -$7.99 rolls. They were great. Had teppanyaki grill and they were good too. Little bit salty for my taste but still good. Ordered shrimp tempera rolls and Hamada rolls- great Filet mignon and scallop- good Fried rice - so so Onion soup- too bland- no taste Service- slow Recommend making reservations for teppan grill. Their menu is extensive both with dinner entrees and sushi rolls, and the hibachi/teppan area is in the back of the restaurant so we weren't able to see it but it sounded pretty lively. I was hoping we could still order from the teppan menu even if we weren't seated at that table, but we weren't offered that option. Perhaps if you ask. I kept it simple with the Chicken Katsu. The chicken was delicious, perfectly breaded, super moist inside and stayed crisp outside. My side order of Yakisoba noodles, or fried noodles, were too sweet for my taste but were a large portion for the price. The atmosphere is a little drab and doesn't seem super clean. I really didn't expect much from a Japanese restaurant in the middle of Utah and that's exactly what we got LOL. We chose this place because it was open pretty late and we were super tired from driving around all day. I ordered some nigiri sushi and a hand roll. My friends opted for a few sushi rolls and combination fried rice. I did think it was a cool concept to have sushi served on one side of the restaurant and a benihana-style side on the other. However, when it comes down to the taste of the food, it was mediocre at best. The nigiri had way too much rice to fish ratio. The combination fried rice was just a tad too salty. You can't really go wrong with the sushi rolls with just the right sauce and fried ingredients in it. Also, it doesn't really help to display a generic picture of different types of nigiri sushi and not have it!!! I asked for uni (sea urchin), but they don't even carry it there. Not that this has anything to do with the rating, but there were an unusual amount of Philadelphia Eagles fans who worked in that restaurant haha. read more

Went on Saturday night for my birthday. It was just my wife and I so we were hoping it worked be a quick stop. They were busy and we got on the waiting list- 20-30 minutes slowly turned into over an hour..as we watched people with large parties who came in after us to get on the list get seated. Most of the people who came after us were eating by the time we got a table. Even once we got a table, we almost left because no one came to get our drink order or said anything for over 45 minutes. Our server, even she finally realized we were there, was very attentive and kind. Need more communication between staff and this would be a great place. The food is always just "okay" but we expect that at a sushi restaurant in southern Utah. read more

Food was outstanding. Wish I could say the same for the service. Seated at teppanyaki table. Waited for 15 minutes after seating for first contact by server named Christina. Took order for drinks and then disappeared for 10 minutes. She came back and took orders from both parties. After 15 minutes she finally brought the salad and soups. My sushi was not delivered until after the soup and salad was halfway eaten. By then the chef was already cooking and delivered the first course to the plates. Never saw the server again to check for drink refills or anything until 15 minutes after we were finished eating. We asked for boxes and the checks. Another 10 minutes went by and she brought the boxes but no checks. another 10 minutes and we got the checks. After 20 minutes both parties went to the front desk to pay the bill. Then she decided to get some life and pay the checks. I left the minimum tip. When I got time to enter the amount in my app I found they automatically added an 18% tip to the bill on top of what I had already added. Get me once shame on you, get me twice shame on me. Gonna look for a new source for my sushi fix in Cedar. read more

The calamari was very chewy. The rice was super dry. They drenched the fried rice in soy sauce. There was so much cream cheese on the sushi rolls you couldn't taste anything else. The service was kind and I think they were trying but they missed the mark. My daughter did spice things up a bit when she began retching at the table. My wife puts her hand underneath to try to help, then quickly grabs the rice bowl and lets my daughter puke into that. Good service aside, this place served some of the worst Asian/Japanese food I have ever had. The egg rolls came out soaked in oil- we had to blot them off with paper towels. The beef udon had several shortcomings - the noodles were thick and gummy (the diameter of pencil erasers), the egg white had burned and the yolk was a hard crumbly yellow mess, the beef was tough, flavorless and in short supply, as were the greens which easily could have been iceberg lettuce - I couldn't make out what they were. We love sushi and heard this was the place to go so finally made the trip and took my brother as well. We were pretty hungry and the rolls looked so yummy that we dove right in so they were half gone before I took a pic. Lol. They had a lot of amazing-sounding rolls, including specials not on the menu, so it was difficult to choose but we ended up with yellowtail jalapeno sashimi, 5jr roll, sumo roll, and corona roll. The sashimi was super delicious with the garlic ponzu sauce but the sumo roll with the baked scallops and piles of cilantro was by far the fav. That roll was phenomenal! Unfortunately the lime on the other 2 rolls was was too intense and the tartness overpowered all the other flavors. That's all we could taste. We'll have to come back to try some other rolls without lime.... The service was really good though. and prices were average for a nice sushi place. Next time maybe we'll try coming on the happy hour days though because that seems like a much better deal. read more
