Sushi was good, even for a small town like cedar city. Sure I've had better near the coast, but it was still decent by any standard. Service was a little slow, but ambiance was really nice, comfortable, clean, nice decor. Good food, and good atmosphere. Definitely one of the best options in cedar city. UPDATE: Had the yakisoba on a subsequent visit. It is about as far from authentic as you can get. Not sure who the chef is or what recipe they are using, but it was drowning in this thick, overly sweet, very white person Chinese sauce. I would bet it came from a bottle, not made from scratch in house. Also got some sushi rolls, and the rice grains were dry like they'd been pre-cooked and stored in the refrigerator for at least several hours, if not overnight, before being used for the sushi. It also was not sweet like it was old and possibly not a good quality sushi rice. Not sure if they changed ownership since my first experience, but this was disappointing enough that I'm not sure I want to give this another try. read more

Woah! This place was amazing! From the outside it's a little unsuspecting and could be easily passed by without stopping. But once inside it's modern and inviting with a large dining area, bar seating, and a private room. The food was bursting with flavor and fresh! We ordered: The steamed gyoza- flavorful, savory, delicious Kids chicken teriyaki & rice- don't be fooled this isn't just a kids dish it's a flavor bomb of complex delicious flavors, there is NO dry chicken here! Just juicy tender chicken and delicious fluffy rice. Ordered via door dash today. It was my first time eating from this restaurant. The "Citrus Mistress" roll was delicious and very fresh. I also had octopus sushi, which I couldn't eat. This place is WAY overpriced and the food was not good. The Korean short ribs with grilled onions were saturated in oil and completely non edible. The Udon was blan, the dressing on the salad was watered down to make it go further, I'm guessing. The tea was served in a plastic cup? Why? The miso soup was served cold not even warmed up! Tasted like it came straight out of a rusty bathtub. Honestly, I didn't know water could be that offensive. Then the food. If you're a spice junkie with no taste buds left, maybe this place is your dream. For the rest of us? Every. Single. Thing. drowned in cayenne, chili, or both. Even the rolls that weren't marked spicy had some kind of surprise kick. It's sushi, not a dare. Left with a scorched tongue and zero plans to return. Not sure if there was a Sushi shortage or if the "sushi chef" felt people were on diets so they were made bite size. Additionally, asking for a tip starting at 22% is crazy, especially if the food is subpar at best. To top the bad dining experience off, 5 minutes after leaving, everyone in our party of 3 had a raging stomach ache followed by hours spent in the bathroom. Our favorite ramen! The black garlic ramen is delicious! My favorite sushi is the Citrus Mistress, it has a wedge of lemon on it and it's the best! My kids love the plain ramen on the kids menu. A great option for Cedar! Service is great and the restaurant is clean. read more

Kabuto has great delicious food and we definitely intend to go back. We thought that the price was a little bit high but considering the generous amount of food we were served and the wonderful delight meal it was worth it. My husband and I really love this restaurant! Been here 3 times this month! Today for lunch we got their lunch special, which included 1 sushi roll of your choice (we got the spicy crab roll) and had 5 different nigiri. All that for $15.95. Which is a great deal! My husband is allergic to seaweed and we thought the waitress went beyond her service and spoke to the chef and had the sushi roll made with soy paper instead of seaweed. We also got our favorite ramen, Black Garlic Tonkatsu and it was delicious. This is one of the best restaurants here in Cedar City!
