What a great experience! This is my favorite place to eat Indian in all of houston. Staff is good and food is great. Favorite part: Monday and Tuesday's there is a dinner buffet and they allow making a to-go plate because of covid! So that you do not have to dine in. For me this is amazing because I can't eat enough in one sitting to get my money's worth. They carefully wrap the plate for me also since a lot of the dishes are messy. You should all try! read more

Haven't had Indian food in a while so this was a good treat I had with coworkers. Food was tasty, service pleasant, friendly and fast. The goat curry was my favorite and went well with the lemon rice. The only thing it lacked was variety. Choices were very limited, if you were into a few of the items then you're forced to have something. Always love coming here for their authentic and fresh Indian food. Their lunch buffet offers a wide selection of dishes and is the best value around. This is a great place for vegetarians as their buffet has at least 8 meat free options. I always am greeted when I come in and the place is very clean on the inside. The only issue I have with this place is they don't have much parking and there's no self parking (all valet). One of the better Indian restaurants in the Houston area. You know the ambiance is classy at an Indian restaurant when you get good service, complimentary valet, and pappad with chutney as an appetizer. Instead of the buffet, my family opted for vegetable kofta and mushroom curry with naan for dinner. The food was tasty and spicy. The samosas were also delicious! I didn't like the mushroom curry, but I also don't think mushrooms belong in Indian food. It's just not a good combination. read more

Tasty Indian food with a wide variety of buffet options for a great price. I came here with a colleague for the dinner buffet and was very pleased with my experience. The options were plentiful (three different rice options, tons of chicken, lamb and veggie dishes, lots of sauces) and tasted great. The naan (brought to your table once you're situated) was good as well (light, flaky and fresh). My favorite part was the dessert. The vanilla pudding (something I've never had before) was delicious...I wish I had room for seconds. I had never tried Indian food before my girlfriend decided to take me here for lunch one day. I was a little skeptical when she told me it was buffet style. I mean Indian buffet?! Sounds a little sketch right? My apprehension disappeared as soon as I walked in though. Tucked away in a small parking lot, this place will have you fooled from its exterior. Inside you will find tables covered in white linens, wine and water glasses ok each table, and a beautiful circular buffet. Not your average line of options covered by half glass and plastic placards with food descriptions. The food is absolutely delicious. Homemade traditional Indian cuisine. My favorite things here are the Dahl mahkni, chicken tikka masala, and vegetable biryanis. I could also eat my weight in their homage naan, which they bring to the table as often as you can consume it. The ambiance is pretty quiet during the week, unless there is some event being held. I've been here during an Indian birthday party, it was pretty packed, but the service was still fast and the show they put on made the visit even better. I've been to Nirvana a total of 5 times now, and it is the ONLY Indian food I will eat. It takes me about an hour to get there from my home but it is definitely worth the drive. read more

Went to lunch with my sister I've had Indian food one other time and was not impressed. but I have been wanting to try it out again I always try things twice. We are pretty adventurous when in come to trying new things. As you are walking up to the restaurant you could smell the aromas they smelled wonderful. The only good thing about this place was the service. Everything else was just... bad. The only thing I liked was the chicken tiki marsala and the lamb. The lamb was actually seasoned well and didn't have a smell. It had sort of a bbq char taste. I also liked the naan bread they provided. It was hot, crispy and buttery. I must caution, this review is based only off the lunch buffet, however, I feel confident in stating this is easily the best Indian lunch buffet I've seen in Houston. The all you can eat buffet is well worth the $13.95 price tag. Meat selections included chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, goat rogan josh, tandoori chicken, and a fish curry. There were approximately 8 vegetarian dishes in addition to buffet standards such as pakora and rice along with mint chutney / raita / tamarind sauce. While there were several desserts offered, I was far too stuffed by the end of my meal to indulge. The restaurant itself is also much nicer than most other Indian restaurants I've dined at and the service was good. Overall, a great deal for the quality of the food. Best of all, they have the buffet on Monday / Tuesday nights! This place will definitely be on my restaurant rotation when in the Memorial area. read more

As for me, I LOVE Indian food! Even better is All-You-Can-Eat Indian food!! I found Nirvana Indian Restaurant to provide the best variety of options than any other Indian Food buffet I have been to. The restaurant is brand new(ly renovated). They just moved from their old next-door location (where they were at for 10 years) to their new location. They have about 12-15 warm selections (including all the favorites) and a small salad bar, and a small dessert bar with about 4 options. They set you down and bring out a basket of fresh, warm naan bread. Their service is great! Their Lunch Buffet costs $12.95 a person. They also have an evening dinner buffet on Monday and Tuesday (didn't catch the price, sorry.) If you are in the mood for some good Northern Indian Cuisine, you can't go wrong with Nirvana! Now I just need to bring my wife here! I eat out all the time because of my job, but I pack her lunch everyday (usually leftovers from the night before). I love her, I DO! Sorry honey! read more

I can't believe I've not rated this place before now. This summer, I moved to another side of town, but before then I lived wtihin a few blocks of the place for 8 years, so I've eaten in or carried out from there dozens of times. The real standout for me was always their buffet night, which is Mondays and Tuesdays. It's $16, and each dish is in its own container over a warmer, not served mass style. The selections change, but are ALWAYS good. They typically have a lamb dish, chicken tikka marsala, butter chicken, almond rice (or sometimes lemon saffron), sausage, lentils, spinach. The spinach is a standout, and the naan is crazy good. Their sauces are really the best on each dish, and I've never tried a vegetable there I didn't like - butternut squash, fried cauliflower, etc. When you get it to-go they give you a to-go container and you get to fill it yourself, plus a hot, fresh slab of naan - which makes about 3 meals for me for the price. The staff remembers you no matter how long it's been since you've been in there, and I've never had anything but top-notch service. I've probably had 5-6 indian places in town, and though I liked most of them, this one is hands-down my favorite flavors. read more

Nirvana catered an event yesterday for the OPEN Houston event and the food was without a doubt the best catered food I have tasted. The seafood in cream sauce was incredible. More than 24 hours later I keep hearing from other attendees how much they loved the food. The quality, freshness, and variety was superb. This review is for dinner service only: 1. After we were seated, the waitress didn't ask us for drinks, if we needed help with the menu, if we were ready to order, whether or not our food came out okay, or when we needed our check. We had to flag her down the entire time. 2. My baby was getting restless, so after waiting about 20 minutes for the complimentary papad, we asked for it so that she could munch on it. Afterward, the owner/manager and the guy (who was delivering the papad) walked to every single table to see who needed it, and they walked past our empty table. The guy noticed we didn't have one and the owner/manager did some weird "no no, not them, it's them" motion to the tables who clearly had it. That's when we felt our first uneasy feeling, as if we weren't paying customers or good service didn't matter to us (since we were a table of half Indians). His behavior was so off and rude because he did it a foot away from our table. 3. The owner went to every table to see how they were doing, except for ours. Again, he visited the "white" customers and catered to them. I never felt reverse discrimination until I dined here. We spent about $80 for dinner for three... $80 more than we should have! So my message to Nirvana: as good as your food was, and as badly we wanted to love you (being where we live and how much we love good Indian food), your service made us feel worthless and uncomfortable. read more
