This place reminds me of the best Afghani friends I used to know in my first college: kindly and ruminating like Rumi. They take joy in being sincere and singular about their natural affinity with people, and natural affinity for genuine hospitality with a flair. My cousin and my beloved used to come here as we would have their aloo roti Afghan style, with delicious yogurts, sauces, chutneys, and kebabs. They take joy bread is thinner than most places, and oval shaped --so, you'll be craving another round (pun intended) before the meal is done. The yellow, saffron rice is my preferred dish with kebabs --made succulent, spicy, and tender. The music is lively, but not loud. The lighting could be dimmed a bit --candlelight might be better. I started my meal off with Bolani (a flatbread stuffed with potatoes and leeks served with a fresh yogurt dipping sauce). For entrees, I enjoyed the Chopan kabob plate with rice and the combination kabob plate of Chapli kabob and Teka beef kabob served with a fresh, warm naan. My favorite were the Chapli and the Teka - super tasty and juicy! All the food is prepared 100% halal as well. The meat is very well seasoned, tender, and juicy. The rice are always nicely done, never raw, and the vinegar-y chutney they offer is fantastic to drizzle over the top. Oh my word.....To say this was delicious is an understatement! My fiancee and I came here at about 5pm last Saturday evening while we were in the area. There was literally only one other couple in the restaurant. I ordered the Teka Beef Kabob and he ordered the Chicken Kabob. Both were served with a very generous portion of rice and some grilled veggies. My steak was seasoned to absolute perfection, and his chicken was seasoned beautifully and was juicy, too. Saw this place on instagram and decided to try it out a few days ago. I ordered a bunch of items to try with a friend. We started with their naan, Bolani, and mantoo. The naan was like a slightly crispier version of indian Naan and went pretty will with the yogurt sauce that came with it. The bolani was a flatbread with potatos and leeks in it. It reminded me of chinese stuffed meat pancakes in terms of the texture, and it was probably my favorite appetizer. The mantoo are dumplings with ground beef and onions, and there's a sauce on top that kind of reminded me of Italian Bolognese sauce (ground meat and tomato sauce). Overall it was pretty good but I would stick with the bolani. For our main entree we split quabili pallow (lamb shank under rice) and chopan kabobs (lamb chops with rice). The lamb chops were smoky and flavorful and were pretty delicious with the rice. The lamb shank was tender but wasn't much different from lamb shank you would get at any other mediterranean restaurant. It did not stand out too much for me. Overall it was a decent meal, but at 26 dollars per person I felt there were better places in Houston that could give you the same kind of flavor. read more

Honestly, one would not expect much from the exterior. Located in the same strip center as the dollar theater, this interesting Afghan restaurant is definitely worth a visit. This establishment hasn't been here very long. It's always dead in here for dine in, and it's not hard to see why. Noise bounces around the dining room like crazy, and the ambiance is lacking. I think it use to be a karaoke place. However, this place churns out some pretty freaking amazing Afghani dishes, and it has definitely left me wanting more! The kabobs are always amazing. Get the lamb. It's cooked to a nice rosey medium, probably my favorite item on the menu, though it is all delish!. Chapli kabob is also delicious and full of flavor. What we got: Appetizer size "Mantu"- 5/5 I love love love Mantu and would definitely eat their entree size next time because this was delicious! So meaty, and comforting. Appetizer size "Bolani"- 4/5 We were shocked at the generous portion. There were quite a lot of pieces on there which we loved haha. Food: Ordered the Qualibi Pallow and appetizer portion of the Mantoo. The Pallow is lamb shank with rice - the meat was falling off the bone, but my rice needed more sauce and raisins. Mantoo are beef dumplings and are a must try! They are very hearty and would recommend an appetizer portion. Service left some to be desired: I ordered online at 11:30 am and they could not find my order at 12:10 pm. The wait, however, was only about 5-7 mins long, but the receptionist was not very friendly. The total cost was about $21 which was for a large portion. Would recommend coming back! read more

I decided to go to all you can eat buffet. There problem solved. The buffet selection was kind of limited when we went. Of course it was half hour before they shut down for their lunch break. The food was your typical Indian cousin. The setting was great and relaxing, but I think we wen at the wrong time, some of the food was dry, and some of the employees were grabbing food fro the buffet line. It kind make me feel I work in the restaurant, of course we had to paid for our meal. The service was decent, but they were getting ready for lunch for were lacking at the same time.
