Nick replaced our electrical panel and installed smoke detectors and LED lights when we moved into our house in Nov. 2021. Nick was good to work with but I was surprised that he didn't label the breakers (none of the 110 and not all the 220). We didn't call the inspectors as soon as he was done because I replaced the outlets in the kitchen and bathrooms myself. When it came time to call for the inspection to close the building permit, he totally ghosted me. I tried getting in touch by phone and text and he never got back in touch with me. Luckily, the city let us schedule it (company that did the work was supposed to do so) and it passed. I just needed to change two light bulbs in a decorative ceiling fixture. Numerous attempts by several individuals to remove the globe were unsuccessful. Finally I called Nisat Electric, explained my dilemma, and made an appointment for service. Nick came as scheduled and appraised the problem. It was necessary for him to actually break the globe as over time the heated glass had melted the plastic decorative ring and fused the entire fixture together. The project was handled with care. I called Nisat for a quote for replacing an electric panel. They asked me to send over pictures of the panel and I did so, and they quoted me $2400. They came over and did the job quickly in 3 hours, but then charged me $2640 for the job after it was done, stating copper grounding rods cost the extra $240. To me, this is deception. If you quote someone $2400, then charge $2400. If I would have known it would have cost more, I would have went with a electrician recommended by a family friend. It's not my fault the electrician did not get enough information from me to give me an accurate quote. Stay away from shady companies like this who charge more than they quote. read more

I was experiencing occasional "chirping" from one of my smoke detectors and googled for smoke detector maintenance as I could not check out the problem myself due to my high 12-15' ceilings. Nisat Electric's Plano location popped up as a firm that installs and services smoke detectors. My units came with my house and are probably 25 years old. I was told that they should be replaced every 10 years. I was quoted $90 per unit with 10 year lithium batteries, or a total of $540 for my six units. Two men came the next day. One appeared to be an assistant or trainee, not a certified electrician. The six units were replaced within about an hour. Later, out of curiosity I checked Lowe's and determined that the retail cost of new units (one of which also detects carbon monoxide) with lithium batteries was about $126. That left a labor charge of over $400 for the one hour. Seems high to me. I should have done better due diligence. read more

5th Time I've needed electrical work and as usual Nick the owner of Nisat Electric responds quicker than any other electrician in McKinney. Also always has the best price and equipment. I found that my home surge suppression unit I have had for a while was not UL approved and may cause fires. Unit was an up sell when my wife had ceiling fan replaced. It's a real POS. The unit is a SYCOM STC-120/240-TC. So once I learned it is suspect and not UL approved had to get it DE- installed immediately. So called Nick got quote quickly. He carries the Eaton CHSPT2ULTRA with 75k warranty from manufacture. So switched it out and done 1 day! Nick is the one who will be opening my house panel going forward. He also is adding one to my son's home. When you find quality work and great pricing you need to just stick with it. Nick is an owner that actually comes out and does the work. Nisat Electric has done 4 electrical projects for my wife and I so this review is long overdue! The first project was in April of 2012 and was to install three ceiling fans. As nervous first time home owners we called a few different electricians for quotes and to get an idea of the work they would do to install the fans. All three were priced pretty comparably but we went with Nisat Electric because of Nick. He took the time to explain the project including all the options for the installations, the work they would do, and the costs for the options. If you use them, better get a quote from another company. Recently I needed 4 plugs installed on the top of my kitchen cabinets. There were lights under the cabinets, but not on the top. I only wanted them to install the plugs, Not install the lights. He came out with a helper and after seeing the 4 cabinet locations, quotes me $1100 to do the job. Fortunately I had called several other companies for a quote, and everyone else was between $300 and $400 for the job. After escorting them out of the house, I called another electrician and he did the job for $370.00 total. Took him 3 hours to complete it. We also had a poor experience with regard to replacing smoke detectors. We inquired about having a wired smoke detector replaced and twice verifed total price for trip and the smoke detector. It was outrageous at $80 and they wanted $80 per smoke detector, no break on the 2nd or third one since they would already be here. They arrived on time and I told them we are only having one installed instead of multiples. So he proceeded to say, let me go to the truck to write up the invoice, I said we were given a price of $80 total. He said, "we have a $69.00 inspection fee." I was having problems with a the fuse box in my house. There were some breakers that were damaged and they were causing power outages in my house. I remember calling Nisat Electric early Saturday morning. They came in a very reasonable amount of time. They were able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed in 2 hours. We needed to have a breaker replaced and I called Nisat Electric as they service the area and had some good reviews. When I called I spoke with Sharon, who said that the service call will be $69.00, but this will be credited towards any repairs. Nick came to the house and after looking at the breaker box, confirmed that we indeed needed a new breaker. he quoted my wife $149.00. My wife asked if he would also take a look at a GFI outlet that had recently quit working. He quoted $89.00 for that repair. After the repairs were complete, my wife gave him our debit card for payment. It was not until after he left and I returned home from work that evening that I noticed on the receipt that he did not credit the service call charge into the repairs (repairs were not itemized). After speaking with Sharon, I was told that she would talk to Nick and get back to me to resolve the charge, I did not hear anything for a week. Called and said that she had yet to talk to Nick but she would and call me back later in the day....No call. Over the course of the last 2 weeks I have been trying to get in touch with Sharon. Just today I spoke with her again and she asked that i refresh her memory. She said, "oh yeah, I spoke with Nick and he said that he gave you guys a deal already, and the charges should have been $200 for the breaker and $189 for the outlet". Further he charged us a lot just remove the smoke detectors and did not even check the wiring nor discuss the price with us before removing them.
