We go here every time we go to ocean shores or westport. Best food we ever had. Place has old style taps on the walls. And the bartender every time remembers us and says to us welcome back good to see you again. We took a detour for gas and decided to have lunch at this local stop that touted its "Best Burger." An apparent regular customer arrived at the same time and opened the door for us. We stood inside and he nodded that we should seat ourselves. Felt sort of "Cheers" like - we could tell that the staff knew his name. Shortly after we were seated, our menus arrived - a LOT to choose from and it all looked delicious. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture to include. I can't believe I haven't reviewed our go-to place when we want pub grub close to home. Nisqually Bar & Grill serves the usual bar food options like burgers, wings, etc., which are will freshly prepared and tasty with generous servings. If you don't want a burger or appetizers, they also offer dinner options like steak, clams, pork chops, spaghetti, fish & chips, etc. We usually order the wings or burger & fries, which are really good. The fish & chips are pretty good, but some items are not prepared fresh - like the fish filets, shrimp, chicken strips, etc., which are your standard restaurant frozen fare. They are good quality & taste good, but I'm not really a fan of pre-breaded food and prepare hand-dipped fried foods. Service is usually pretty fast, with expected delays when they are crowded. We usually get seated with our drink order taken very quickly. They have a nice selection of beers on tap, so we start off with a cold brew. Food is served pretty quickly after it is ordered, and if you're starving you can always grab a basket of freshly popped popcorn to munch on while you wait. The atmosphere is pure pub decor with sports memorabilia and other interesting items hanging on the wall. They have pool tables and outdoor seating, which is handy for smokers if that's your thing. Well, how did I end up here!?! Doesn't matter because of the experience! Upon entry, you will see trinkets, signs, and other ornaments everywhere! This place wears its history and nostalgia on the wall. Personality as well just oozes off the wall. The waitresses bring just as much personality with their responsiveness and witty playful banter. The food is good old diner food! I had the top cut sirloin steak with eggs. I'm not a medium rare guy, and I stand firm on that stance. Stopped in on the way home from SeaTac a few weeks ago. Our two almost-adult sons had burgers while I ordered a club sandwich. It was the best in decades, just what used to be a classic club but seems to have disappeared. This one was nothing fancy, just perfect. Turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce & tomato on (in my case white toast). It was so good that I changed my airport drive routine from Pick-Quik in Fife for the past 20 years, which used to be fantastic but has slipped a bit, to Nisqually Bar & Grill, where I'll be stopping again tomorrow. Service has come down extremely last couple of months. Current servers are rude and appear to be disgruntled . Saw a server grab a handful of pull tabs twice and possibly gave it to a friend/boyfriend without even counting the tabs. Then when we ordered pull tabs we can clearly see her count each pull tab. Then heard a customer tell the same server they have more weed for her baby daddy. Then both stepped outside and actually did a drug deal. Then saw the customer place his hand under the servers shirt and start rubbing her...( blond heavy set women working sat 2/15 at 2100 hrs.) shortly after she returned inside and can smell the weed they were smoking outside..Wouldn't waste my time writing this but truth should be known as this use to be our favorite spot but is slowing being ruined by recent hires. Doing a short road to from Portland to Seattle and needed lunch- the best answer is not to get off the freeway and drive into Olympia - nope, stop here- quick on and off the freeway- the food is really good, the portions are large and well priced. It's Friday so, while the steamer clams looked great I went for the fish and chip special. Comes with a couple of pieces of fish, fries, slaw and a cup of clam chowder- all pretty great. Partner, also had a cup of chowder but, attempting to set a good example had a half salad and it was also good and a very ample portion. However he was casting an envious eye at my, probably less healthy but yummy plate. Being a more than amply serving I did share everything but the fish- nope all mine. With a good tip as yelpers always do- under $40.00- and, since it's a road trip enjoy the super clean bathrooms. An added benefit is the very short drive down the road to the Nisqually delta bird reserve. Even if you just drive in and take a short walk around the headquarters building it's a great way to get out of the car and stretch. So, a great meal and a visit to the bird reserve. Do yourself a solid, give these nice people your money - and say hello to the birds. read more

We had decided to come to this Bar and Grill on the way home from a baseball tournament in Centralia and heard this was a good spot to eat. The older waitress taking our order was rude and disrespectful when I tried to order food for my kids. I kept my composure when she was giving me attitude because I didn't want to ruin it for my kids and the team. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza, and it was straight up disgusting. Worst pizza I've ever had in my life, and it's pretty hard to mess up a simple pizza. I paid for the food, and she threw my receipt and pen on the table and walked off. This was one of my worst experiences at a restaurant. I will never go back here because of this waitress. read more

Unfortunately, management and/or owners prefer only one type of customer: petite, no mobility or stability issues (i.e. young), and no overweight customers. So, its a market they are not going to get. It was a nightmare getting into and out of booths and the table/chair option was a no-go as the chair were too low to maneuver up and down without help. Basically, bring a cane and friends to help you. And obese or overweight people, use order out and eat in your car. read more

Went in on a Wednesday @8pm after a long walk around the wildlife refuge. There were two badass ladies running the whole bar, tables, and patio, so understandably there was no time to bullshit with them. (It was surprisingly busy in there as you can see in the vid, folks sitting outside too.) I asked for a Pilsner rec and got a couple Deschutes for my friend & I. Dinner Special: 12oz steak & fries w/dinner salad. Ordered w/raspberry vinaigrette, medium-rare steak, came out a lil darker but I figured it may have sat a moment too long (again, these ladies were sprinting around to take care of everyone so no complaints from me). The fries are even thinner than McDonald's fries but surprisingly great. Can't remember the exact dinner price but was shocked, it was less than $16. The pints were cheap too. Music was going all night at a decent volume. This place has lots to offer with the decor, patio, pool tables, & pull tabs. Would for sure come out again. read more

This was our first time here. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for lots of reviews. I had a bacon burger and it was darn good. The bun was nicely grilled, tasty burger and lots of real cheese melted all over with good quality bacon and plenty of it. I would prefer more lettuce and onions would've been an additional charge so I skipped it. I'm not a fan of up charges although it's nice to have options. They had skinny fries that I should've salted. They were cooked to a perfect amount of crisp yet soft inside. The servers were nice and attentive. The restaurant looked clean which was surprising because there are a lot of decorations. It was fun to look around at all of it. They even have a popcorn machine which is normally my must-have guilty pleasure but I was able to resist it since I couldn't even finish my meal. I love that they have some booths besides tables and an outdoor seating area. I asked and it's not pet friendly. The location is very convenient off/on I-5 and a plus that there is parking across the highway for large vehicles. We lucked out and found parking for our parents''s motor coach right by the restaurant so they didn't have to dodge traffic. I had called ahead to ask where it would be ok to park and the pet question. My hubby had their house made chili and it was really good. He liked the meatloaf sandwich and said it had good seasoning. I enjoyed their zuppa Tuscana which was much like Olive Garden's soup. I appreciate that they brought those out first. If I had to rate on service alone, it would be a five+. Service was great. First time I was here. Had a hankering for some fish and chips. Heard they have good ones. Me and a friend sat down and were quickly waited on. I got a soda and ordered Fish and Chips...my friend ordered a Tea and Fish and chips. Soda/Tea promptly delivered. In short time the Fish and Chips came. I was extremely disappointed on the portion sizes. My friends order looked exactly like three (3) fish sticks (remember those from school?). I got one halfway decent size of fish and a fish stick looking thing. Not very generous on the fries either. Looked nothing like the picture in the menu. The previous day was all you can eat fish and chips, so maybe they sold out? Anywho, if I have a hankering for Fish and Chips, won't come back. read more
