Delicious food. I ordered the flank steak salad though very tempted by several other items on the menu making my ultimate choice difficult. Clearly, I have to return to try everything else on the menu. The salad has fresh cut romaine lettuce. It is NOT a salad mix. Very flavorful, roasted corn, perfectly cooked flank steak, exactly the right amount of blue cheese crumbles so they didn't overtake the flavor of the salad. The roasted tomato vinaigrette has a smoky flavor to it that was delicious. The dressing was tossed with the salad, not in the side. Another great decision. You can tell they carefully put together their salads and it is a high quality meal. I got the large size, not the kite version and it was perfect. I ate all of it because it was so good. Our pretzel and beer cheese appetizer was hot and fresh, and my kids loved the Hangover Burger (ham, egg and American on a burger) and the Hungry Soldier (fully loaded double cheeseburger). We had a choice of fries or tots served in little single serving mini fry baskets - super cute. Our server accidentally ordered us buffalo chicken wings instead of chicken tenders, and he fixed it immediately with no charge - we were able to bring home the wings too. The tenders were huge when they came - we got five and they were like slabs of chicken breast. Very delicious! Bottomless drinks were awesome. It was a bit loud in there, but it is a pub. Our server, guy with long pony tail was not. Took our order and only came back once to get us boxes, that he placed on top of the food we weee taking... really?!? We never got refills, or asked if we needed anything. It took us over 20mins to just get his attention to get our bill, then he told us it was a crazy night. Dinner with friends at McNamara's Pub hit the mark. We were seated right away, which was a great start, and our server was friendly and efficient without hovering. Drinks came out quickly. The gin and tonic was delicious. Food followed fast and hot. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie. Comfort food done right, hearty, well seasoned, and filling. The portion was generous and I took half of it home. One friend had the stroganoff, which was rich, satisfying, and served in a solid portion. Another ordered the fish and chips with crispy batter, flaky fish, and a portion that felt fair for the price. We split the triple berry dessert to finish. Sweet without being over the top and perfect for sharing. The place was clean, well kept, and easy to get in and out of. Plenty of parking, which honestly matters. Prices felt reasonable across the board, especially for the portion sizes. We were so busy chatting that I got lost in conversation and forgot to take photos. read more

This is an awesome little pub. I'm in town at JBLM for training for a few weeks and I have stayed up late every night doing projects and McNamara's Pub never disappoints. I've tried the spicy chicken pasta 10/10 with garlic bread, the hangover burger was absolutely amazing (must try) and bartenders are top notch and fast with drink refills. Came here after the DuPont bazaar on a Sunday, midday. The restaurant wasn't too busy, maybe 3-4 other tables full in the main dining area. It's your typical pub, the bar side is 21+ only. Ordered Irish onion soup which was pretty good and the corned beef and cabbage. Portion was nice, my cabbage was very peppery which was a bit unexpected but not too bad. The corned beef was nice and tender and had lovely flavor. Services was quite slow and there were only two other tables seated, we did not get refills for our drinks after asking, I think I server got side tracked with other responsibilities. Got the pulled pork Mac and cheese and the noodles were over cooked and broke every time I went to pick up a bite and were very squishy. Had them take it back and make me a new one but had the same problem because they're the same batch of noodles that were already cooked from this morning. They decided to comp my food and give me new food at half the cost. So I ordered a bacon cheese burger with only ketchup and mayonnaise. They came back with a bacon cheese burger with everything on it. ‍ At that point I just gave up got it to go, paid, and left. read more

Since we were going to be in the area, we decided to look for a last minute place for St. Patty's food and we weren't disappointed. Luckily we arrived before the dinner rush. Apparently they don't take reservations this weekend because there's live music and the place fills quickly. The servers were great! Highly recommend the pastrami egg rolls. Even our kiddo liked it. But seriously, from the Guinness options to the food, we would've ordered everything if we could, except the jalapeno poppers. They're good but you need to prepare yourself. They're huge and pack a kick. I took them to go and threw them into a stir fry . Would have preferred some cool Irish music to a top 40s playlist. Decided to give this place a try despite the mediocre reviews and the reviews don't lie! The pros, this place has a good vibe / decor and they have a good selection of drinks available at the bar. Our server wasn't very friendly and the happy hour nachos left a lot to the imagination. The nachos looked good but didn't taste all that great. I ordered the garlic and parmesan wings. My daughter and I ate here because it was in walking distance from our hotel. She liked her kids butter noodles and fries and I really enjoyed the totchos with bacon! This place was recommended by the clerk where we were staying but we were in the mood for steak but the Texas Roadhouse nearby was only for the military. In short the places we went to were closing for the evening and McNamara's was open till late and so we ended up at this place which turned out to be great. I had their (mocktail) Bloody Mary and it was soooo good; actually excellent. Although my wife enjoyed her beer she ended up ordering the Bloody Mary mocktail as well. We paired it with the Nachos appetizer which was a generous portion and it was delicious. Service was good; it seemed he was the only there that evening. Not really sure who's fault it was, but we ordered on Door Dash and the order was to have been delivered in 40 minutes. After about 50 minutes I called the restaurant and apparently our food had been sitting in a warmer waiting to be picked up. I walked down to the restaurant and picked it up myself. Eaten here a couple times, first time was ok but pricey. This second time made me not want to go back at all. I ordered the Rueben Rolls as an appetizer and some corn beef and cabbage for the main. The main plate came out quick, before the appetizer, it was obviously old, the corn beef was dry and so was the sauce on the potatoes. I got through 1/3rd of the plate before dropping my fork because I started to feel sick over it. The Rueben rolls tasted fine but they were very greasy which added to my sudden stomach ache. I left quickly after, leaving most of the food untouched. After just the main, an appetizer and a few drinks the tab was over $60. Not worth it at all. read more

They have a Happy Hour menu from 2-5 and 9-close. The bar area is pretty spacious. The service is okay, sometimes a little lacking. The pretzels and beer cheese as well as the totchos are good snacks. The onion rings were mediocre and the cheese on the truffles fries was not even melted. It is decent enough that I would return, just not sure that it would be my "go-to" spot for Happy Hour. I have eaten in the restaurant several times over the years. I got the burger of the month this time and I am disappointed It was the Bacon Confit Caprese I normally don't like bacon or pork of any type . But thought I would give it a try I got Tots with my burger and a mug of beer. The beer got here and I started swigging it down. When the food got here the tots were crispy The burger is were I was disappointed It didn't have the same pop or wow like others I had before. St. Patrick's Day was so much fun here! The happiness was contagious and everyone was in a fun mood even though it was busy and probably more crowded than usual. Luckily they have tons of seating inside, outside and at the bar so for 3 people we waited less than 10 minutes. Our waitress was also very sweet and friendly and made the experience so much better by being attentive to our little ones needs from the second we sat down. First, I have to talk about my Guinness and Cider. If you haven't tried this combo, it is a match made in heaven! The creaminess of the Guinness adds a rich smoothness to the cider that I didn't know it needed but now I'm obsessed! The fish & chips were a 5/5. 3 pieces, pretty good sizes, and crisped to golden perfection. I must shout-out the delicious homemade ranch too, it is so so good! The fries were also perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. My sister ordered the braised beef and cabbage and this is an impressive looking dish! Smells and tastes like comfort and love. 5/5 for hers as well! As for my toddler friend she had the Mac and cheese and I think by the way she was shoveling it into her mouth it is definitely kid approved! read more

Show up at 7:15 on a Tuesday looking for some dinner. Opening greeting from a friendly server asking for my drink order. Guinness delivered- American pour (not great, but too fast, at least it's in a proper glass.) Then... nothing. No further staff interaction. Completely forgot about. Left $10 on the table for my now empty pint, and walked out. Hungry. Went across the street for some pizza, bummed about my lost hour. So I can't really say that this place was bad, so much as not really my style. We went on the night that the freeway was shut down, so the place was pretty packed and we had to sit in the bar, which was fine, but service was kind of slow, which again I guess could be expected considering how busy they were. So one of the things I didn't really understand, was if they were trying to go with the Irish theme, or a sports bar. The two different things didn't really feel like they lined up really well. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the beef and gravy, both were average nothing to write home about but solid I suppose. I wish that I had gone with the corned beef and cabbage cuz I felt like that would have been better, I'll have to try it if I ever go back. That being said I'm not opposed to giving it a second chance, there just wasn't really anything that made me go heck yeah let's go there again. read more
