Mango sorbet and cold brew coffee ice cream.
Elvira D.

Holy flavor. Im a big ice cream aficionado. I'll eat it on a sunny day, a stormy day, in the middle of winter, you name it. With that said, i am so glad I only bought one small scoop for myself because it was already so rich with each bite. I got the coffee bean flavored one and it was so yummy and different than usual ice cream spots. This is the beauty of mom and pop shops. Can't wait to be back! It was a little pricey though, keep that in mind.

In front of Whole Foods in Tarzana

Driving by I saw this truck parked in front of Whole Foods on Ventura Blvd in Tarzana. I'm a big fan of nitrogen ice cream and even though it was freezing outside I just had to stop and try it. I was greeted right away by a nice man named Scott. I was craving a peanut butter flavor but unfortunately he didn't have any tonight. So I got hot chocolate and red velvet. For these 2 scoops I paid $6. As far as the nitrogen ice cream goes, the texture was different than I'm used to. When I think of nitrogen ice cream I think of thick and creamy. Here the nitrogen ice cream felt watered down. Maybe it's because they offer organic, vegan, & kosher certified flavors? It's a healthier option but I like to feel like I'm digging into a guilty indulgent treat when I have ice cream lol. The hot chocolate flavor was spot on and did taste like hot chocolate. However the red velvet tasted more like strawberry. Almost as if I was eating Napoleon ice cream without the Vanilla. I'm still rating NitroPod 5 stars because it's healthy, tasted good, and I received awesome customer service and that's always appreciated. I saw they had an avocado flavor and I love avocado so maybe I'll try that next time if I see them around again! Oh and they have alcohol infused flavors! :)

Catering event for our company

My coworker and I have been thinking about a fun event to host at our job and we found the best truck! Was walking around the food trucks on Friday nights in Granada Hills, took their card and voila! Scot, who I was coordinating with, was extremely responsive with questions, quotes & addressed all concerns quickly. Today, we welcomed them with open arms & the guys in the truck were fast, efficient, accommodating and extremely friendly. When "renting" the truck, we are offered a wide range of flavors which included Avocado-Lime (amazing & zesty!), spicy Mayan chocolate to good ol' Vanilla Bean. They also had a bunch of cool toppings which included bacon for the adventurous. All 60+ of my coworkers loved every bite & fell in love with how unique the whole process is. Highly recommended for catering or to stop by. Delicious and amazing customer service. Double win!

Pumpkin ice cream

Nice ice cream. I was a little nervous because I got pumpkin flavor (you know holiday season and all) and the color of the ice cream was very light. I was thinking there wouldn't be much pumpkin flavoring but boy was I wrong. This ice cream was great. Tasted just like pumpkin and not that artifical pumpkin flavoring.

Just had Nitropod come to my 40th birthday party! We had about 300 guests there so they were very busy making fresh ice cream. This was a hit! Everyone loved the flavors and the experience. Highly recommend them.

My family and I went to go to an Uber meet where there's free ice cream, but I felt sad that I can't really have ice cream since I'm lactose intolerant. However, they have a vegan flavor, mango, which is so refreshing on a hot day or actually just any day. If you're ever around them, definitely check them out because they have lots of interesting flavors!!

The people running this are very sweet! My mom accidentally got a vegan chocolate ice cream made out of coconut cream when she thought she was getting a coconut ice cream. She did not like it and asked him to throw it away. Instead he insisted on my mom picking out another flavor as an exchange. He told her he wants to make sure she is very happy with whatever ice cream flavor she picks. She then got strawberry and loved it!! I ordered the vanilla bean with cherry and chocolate chunks, a special on their menu. It was so delicious!!! Everyone was stealing bites from my ice cream cup! Scott is very professional and prompt in returning emails regarding price quotes for private parties. He insisted that we all come out and try as many free samples as we like. He was willing to work with my budget.

I am especially thankful to Scot for working with our nonconventional event space (getting married on a yacht).

Upon entering the place is clean, sleek, and modern. We were greeted right away. I already knew I was leaving with 2 drinks for the drive back home. I ordered: 1. Cold brew vanilla: Delicious, I love that tou can see the vanilla cream on top. This was definitely what I needed to wake me up. 2. Matcha einspener: I tasted this and immediately loved it when leaving the store. I saved it for last. It was so light and refreshing. I could easily drink it all day if they had a bigger size lol. I was hoping to try the seasonal mango cream matcha, but sadly it was gone. 3. Pastries: I wanted to try the sampler but I don't thinking they had it yet. I tried one of the cinnamon pastries. It was soft and very cinnamony. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll be back soon.

I did share other items selected by my friend who was with me and did not get to taste them. The baristas were fun and friendly as they prepared our coffee. Here's a helpful tip: The bank next door allows 10 minutes of parking if you use their ATM and keep your receipt. There is security in the lot, so be sure to have your receipt as proof of the time. It's more than enough time to run next door and grab your treats. I ordered a slice of the lemon loaf, a gluten-free cookie, and the classic chocolate chip cookie. The lemon loaf slice is huge, I'd say it's the equivalent of two slices, so it's definitely big enough to share. As for the cookies, Levain is known for making them thick and rich. A small piece goes a long way, making them perfect for savoring over a couple of days (if you have that much self-control!). The moment you walk inside, you're greeted by the incredible aroma of freshly baked pastries, and the service was warm and welcoming. I truly think everyone should experience a Levain cookie or pastry at least once. It's worth the visit!

But let me tell you... the oatmeal cookie is on another level. It's rich, buttery, and packed with so much aroma. The chocolate chip cookie was rich and crispy. Pro tip: microwave it for at least 30 seconds. It completely transforms the cookie--warm, melty, and almost like it just came fresh out of the oven. The oats were warm and satisfying. Definitely one of the best cookies I've had in LA. Worth the hype!

We've seen all the viral fruit pastries online, and were so excited to try them. When we got in, we were able to see all of the options on display and they had a big menu telling you exactly what was in each one. You order off of a kiosk, which makes it incredibly easy to order. Almost all of our pastries were ready before we had even left the kiosk, which was great! I went with the mango and the peach, both of which were fantastic! The shortbread cookie underneath both was delicious, the mango mousse and filling tasted so fresh and amazing. The peach had an Earl Grey cream and fresh peach chunks as well. Both were in the classic white chocolate shell. These are so cute, fun to eat, very refreshing, and not overly sweet. The shop itself is adorable, plenty of seating, great decor and the staff was super friendly and very nice! These fruit pastries have absolutely gone viral, and there's many shops that do them, but Tu Cha is hands-down, the best!

It's just tiktok hype, save the time and get dessert somewhere else…read more What I ate: - Lemon shaped was probably the best of the flavors I tried. I also like the mango shaped one. The peach shaped and was forgettable Pros: - The cakes are very very cute and amazing to look at - Shop inside had a few tables. It seemed like most were just couples or a few friends sharing - Kiosk ordering do no need for human interaction if you don't want it Cons: - I really hated that the flavors did not match up to the cake shapes. I think I liked the lemon shaped one the best because it has the most citrusy passionfruit flavor. But when I break into the mango shaped cake, I expect a strong mango flavor. If the flavors were not going to match, I would've much rather like it if the cakes were in different shapes like a cute cartoonish animal, or smiley face, or a daisy. Some shape that I wouldn't associate with flavor - I also wasn't a huge fan of the flavor combos. I feel like they were really trying to go out there but often times the fruit flavors used didn't really match up with the tea or nut flavors. The flavors were not balanced at all, often just very muddled with one flavor either being too strong or not strong enough, or interfering with a fruits flavor. Some of the cakes were floral tasting from tea or almost slightly savory. The cakes are not sweet at all. Maybe I was just unlucky and tried the worst flavors. Again the lemon shaped one was the best because passionfruit flavor was sharp enough to cut through the other flavors - Parking is street and can be hit or miss - Expensive - I ordered a drink and I don't see it on the menu, or I just can't remember it. That's how different it was. I do remember thinking it was so sweet Would I go again? Absolutely not
