This place is basically a hole in the wall in the very best way. It's in a converted Pizza Hut and in all honesty I have driven past this place and had no clue what it was. It's across from the Chase Bank in the same area of Walmart and Giant Eagle. My husband and I decided to give this spot a whirl and I am glad we did. The inside is tidy, tables and banquet tables. The color scheme is muted tones of burgundy? Black and brown. It's obvious they do a stellar take out business. Staff when you enter and leave a re very pleasant and it was not hard to get a table. Service was pleasant and efficient. The menu is a mash up of Chinese favorites, Sushi and some Thai dishes. I got a cup of the hot and sour soup a much needed elixir after a grueling day. It was the right amount of heat and all the vegetables and pieces of pork. I than got the Hunan Beef lordy it was a HUGE portion. Filled with carrots, baby corn, green and red peppers, mushrooms and zucchini. It. Came with a side of rice. It was really tasty. My husband got the Sashimi Platter, mixed thick slices of salmon, tuna and other fish. He said it was nicely done and the fish was fresh. All in all it was a nice experience and the good was tasty. The service is extremely friendly. Rice inn has been my local go to for years. It is located right off of library road and has plenty of parking. The atmosphere is super laid back and casual (it used to be a Pizza Hut!). The sushi and Chinese food is amazing and the service is always top notch. My favorite time to go is during lunch for the sushi lunch special where you get two or three rolls with a soup or salad at an affordable price. The size of the rolls are very generous and the taste is great. I would highly recommend Rice inn for takeout and dine in! read more

9/22/23 I got some takeout from Rice Inn Bethel Park, location, fried rice, two eggrolls, California roll. Took food home me and the wife ate dinner, after dinner putting away the leftovers, we found a dead cockroach in the fried rice. After digging around, we found two dead cockroaches in the fried rice. It was too late that evening, to take it back, Saturday, I return to the store with the food, ask for the manager said we had a problem, I open the lid of the fried rice, and she immediately noticed it. Apologetic yes, surprised no . She immediately took the food away to the back kitchen. I got a refund, she asked me if I wanted new food I politely declined. I'm writing this so people can be very conscious if they want to eat at this restaurant. Me and my wife both got sick that evening. I don't want this happening to anyone else. Health department is now investigating. read more

Wife was craving Chinese food and the place across the street from our hotel is closed on Sundays, so, we found ourselves at Rice Inn after a day of being in the city. I've never been a huge fan of places that offer several different cultural dishes--Sushi, Thai, and Chinese are all solid enough to warrant their own restaurants. But, seeing how we are just visiting we left it up to Yelp. This place had pretty solid reviews, and the food looked good in pictures. It didn't disappoint. Decent sushi, and the entree dishes were pretty good as well. Good Portion sizes and plenty for leftovers. Nice staff and quick service. Would go again if we were locals. read more

We dined at Rice Inn on Christmas Day. We were greeted by a friendly young man at the front desk and were seated promptly. Our server was a very enthusiastic young lady with a great smile. The menu was extensive with various options of sushi, Chinese and Thai. Two of the dinners we ordered were shrimp fried rice and tofu Pad Thai. Since COVID, I have done pickup here many times. The food has always been fantastic, and always has been packed very well. Their only technology is the telephone and when they're busy . . . getting a busy signal is not uncommon. But otherwise the service has been great. The restaurant was very easy to find. I was at the Walmart making some returns and I wanted a quick lunch. I walked in and there were not a lot of people. There were maybe 3 customers . I was seated rather quickly. However, I waited about 10 minutes before someone even noticed I was seated. By then I was ready to order. I order two rolls that came out pretty fast. This has got to be the friendliest place to eat dinner. I was really impressed by the welcoming smiles and fantastic service. I am usually a fan of authentic ethnic cuisine, and you can get a little of that here, but what I experienced was great food at a very reasonable price. My wife and I ordered takeout from here recently. Overall it was a good experience. My favorite part was the egg rolls. We had a veggie and a chicken egg roll. These are massive egg rolls. One would have been enough to split. They are probably the best I have had at a Chinese place. For our meal we had the general tsos chicken. While it was good, I would not say it was anything special. The sauce was sweeter than most and did not have any heat to it. Update: dined in and the food served were huge portions and good service! I'll admit I'm pretty picky about Asian food and there's nothing worse than being disappointed! I was hesitant to try Rice Inn because I already had a go to Chinese place, but many friends liked it and I was craving Pad Thai and they had a lunch special that included Pad Thai. I threw caution to the wind and went for it one afternoon for lunch. I ordered both Pad Thai with chicken and a Szechuan Chicken with steamed rice so my dining partner and I could try a little each. The portion size was really generous on both. The Pad Thai was a little more saucy than I'm used to and was a different color than I'm accustomed, but it was pretty good and satisfied a craving. The meat was very good. Thinly sliced chicken breast was cooked perfectly. The dish had a pleasant spice level, too. I could have used a little more bean sprouts in the dish, but the snow peas were an interesting addition. The Szechuan chicken was also good. Again, great quality meat- no gristle and mystery pieces here! I should have asked about the vegetables that were included because this one had a lot of bell pepper which I don't really care for. That's not their fault, I forgot to ask. There were bamboo shoots and carrots, too. All in all, a good dish. I'd definitely go back to try a few other things. They have sushi and a few other Thai offerings, mostly curries. The place is a converted Pizza Hut building, and nothing fancy, but it was clean, bustling like you'd hope at lunch time, and very pleasant staff. One of my top Chinese restaurants in the area. They have such a large, diverse menu that is sure to please everyone in the family. Chinese, Japanese and Thai. To start you have to get a ginger salad and egg rolls. They are 100% hand made and the best egg rolls I have ever had. They have vegetarian, chicken or shrimp. They are so doughy but still so full of the ingredients as well. YUMMM! I've only ever had the General tsos and it is very tasty. A little sweeter than spicey sauce. The chicken is always breaded perfectly. This time we also got a side of the Udon noodles. They were alright. Everyone that works here is so friendly. This is the place to order oriental food for take out or dine in. The quality is very good and the chicken is chicken. Some other local Chinese places I believe use chicken knees and lips and everything is dark meat and cartilage. Rice Inn uses select cuts and trimmed meats. Crazy to see this place is still open. A few weeks ago I ordered takeout and found a German cockroach in my bag of food. I called them and they credited me but then offered for me to come back in and get another order as if they just missed what I mentioned to them. It's sad that this used to be my favorite place for Chinese food but after that whole experience, I will never order from them again.
