This place completely caught me off guard in the best way. Walked in on a whim and now I can't stop thinking about it. The space is super clean and minimal, but not in a cold way--it just feels very intentional. You can tell a lot of thought went into everything, from the setup to the little details like color choices and incredibly cute cups/caps. The coffee is seriously good. Not just aesthetically pleasing, but actually well-made. As someone who grew up around good coffee (I'm Colombian), I can tell when it's done right--and this is it. The texture of the milk alone says a lot. Also worth calling out: the pastries. We tried the croissant and the matcha cookies and both were SO good. Simple, but done really well. There's also a second floor with seating, which I was not expecting and honestly makes a big difference if you want to stay a bit. Feels like a low-key hidden spot. The team there is also very kind and surprisingly good remembering faces. Came in just to check it out and now it's part of my regular rotation. read more

I popped in here for a quick coffee to go, not sure if this would be gimmicky based on the number of speciality desserts and coffees with unusual flavors. I was impressed as the flat white was smooth and creamy and the coffee was well balanced. The staff were very nice and despite what seemed to be a long line, service was fast. Further inside there is a seating area upstairs which is quiet, good for a little conversation or doing some work. Looking forward to returning to try some of the cookies ($6 lotus and pistachio raspberry) and the dessert cups which other reviews have raved about. read more

No Plates Coffee is a tiny elongated cafe with seats on the second floor. The coffee machine is state of the art futuristic from Australia which George mans. Pastries from Balthazar Bakery are in the display case. I came for the layered dessert jars and took home one with mango and passion fruit. I also couldn't resist two of the Grandma's cookies that were toothsome. It feels more like a grab and go place on the ground floor. This cafe is clean, bright and pretty. read more

Cute coffee shop with coffee, matcha, pastries, salads, sandwiches and desserts! It's small but very sleek and clean with a standing counter and some seats in the back. I liked their iced latte with oat milk. It came in a cute clear plastic container that mimics a can. The latte was great! The espresso machine they use is legit and it was nice that they don't upcharge for the oatmilk. I also like that they have French vanilla syrup and brown sugar syrup at a self-serve station so you can sweeten to your liking. Great place to stop in for a quick pick me up! read more

Was waiting for my friend and I's bagels next door when I wanted something to drink. So, I dropped into this cute spot! I didn't get a pastry but they looked SO good. I also didn't catch the name of the man working (he had a beard and an accent I couldn't quite place) but he was so kind and passionate about the drinks. We chatted about the open espresso bar set up a bit, too. I got the hot citrus green tea and it was so refreshing (he was right, it did warm my soul) after a long flight to NYC and on a cold morning. Friendly counter service! i got a honey burrata sandwich on a toasted focaccia piece -- the honey wasn't really necessary which defeats half of the appeal but that's 100% on me because I, in my rush, read it as "hot honey" from outside the store and immediately walked in and got one. Needed some kind of punch--maybe some balsamic glaze. i don't think there was any salt or pepper either. Just a little tooo plain. Burrata was on point! + it was all wrapped perfectly to go/to easily unwrap. I humbly suggest adding hot honey (or the momofuku hot chili crunch) instead. No Plates was close to our hotel, so we stopped in for a drink on a Sunday morning. I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk. They made the drinks right in front of you. They have a very nice espresso machine and they mix the matcha by hand. They also have some house made sweeteners by the straws in case you want to add some sweetness to your drink. They also have baked goods and a cooler section with bottled drinks, some food options, and desserts. I liked the cups the drinks came in and the staff were great! One of my favorite coffee spots in nyc! I grind my own beans and make my own espresso every morning so I don't stop by many coffee shops anymore. However, this is a coffee shop I'd come by for even if I got my morning fix already! So good. They even add some honey and cinnamon to my latte which was such an amazing touch. No Plates = No Bueno! The space is very minimal with good air conditioning to hang out in for those NYC heat waves. There's a loft area to sit towards the back and a long standing only counter downstairs. I Went here today because it was recommended to me and I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and an iced flat white with almond milk. First thing that had me nervous was that the order screen said Iced latte and I corrected the order with the barista but he just left it as an iced latte. When I got back to my place with both coffee's and took a sip out of my "iced flat white" I spit it out as the espresso was not extracted correctly. It was really bitter and tasted like the scent of tobacco. There was also quite a bit of coffee grounds in my "iced flat white". The barista had made an iced latte and not an iced flat white. I'm not sure if he doesn't know how to make a flat white but If he didn't I wished he would've said so. The cappuccino was also off as the espresso didn't taste right and was over extracted. Both drinks ended up being poured out as we could not drink them and I wasted $14 I won't be going back to No Plates with as many amazing coffee shops there are in NYC. I gave 2 stars because the barista was super nice. Otherwise, just based on the coffee alone I would give them 1 star. read more

I popped in to get some coffee or matcha while waiting for bagels and found this super cute shop! I usually never write reviews but this shop exceeded any expectations for New York matcha. The matcha is ceremonial grade and they let you add your own amount of sweetener. Coming from Orange County in California -- I've been disappointed with every matcha I've had in New York, but this store was quick and had great matcha and desserts. The matcha and pistachio tiramisu was also so delicious and even my boyfriend who doesn't like matcha enjoyed both items. Although their menu is very simple, this is the best spot for drinks or desserts in the area and I would definitely come back again!! read more

The drinks are good, but the staff is uncomfortable to interact with. All of the men who work here make inappropriate comments and attempt to flirt, which creates an unsettling environment. For example, when I asked one of them to ensure I received my reward points after a purchase, he responded, "I'll give you one point, for one smile." Not only was that comment inappropriate and sexist, but it was also unprofessional and unwelcome. That is not how one should speak to a customer, or to a woman. read more
