I was near the Brooklyn Bridge looking for a morning latte, saw the great reviews, and decided to check it out--now I completely understand the hype. This place smells like spa due to its location. They offer vast variety of bake goods and drinks from rose latte to dirty chai and pistachio latte. They also sell handmade potteries. The space itself is quite small, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot than a sit-down café. I ordered the matcha latte with almond milk, and it was just okay. The almond flavor overpowered the matcha, which could be improved with better quality matcha. Overall, it's a decent spot... maybe some of the other drinks are better. read more

I had MCM Coffee's Pistachio Milk Latte and Rose Alfajores, which cost $14.70 after tax and tip. Both the latte and cookie hit the spot for a quick snack and pick-me-up. The latte was well made. I enjoyed its distinct and nutty pistachio flavor. The cookie was terrific. Alfajores is a South American cookie sandwich filled with dulce de leche. There were rose petal flakes on top and I think rose flavor in the filling. The cookies themselves were buttery and scrumptious. I could tell these items were made with care. My wife found this place after doing a Yelp search for cafes near the hotel we stayed at, Gild Hall. MCM is only a couple blocks north (three-minute walk). They have a cute little basement space with a street-facing storefront and order/pickup window beneath a dry cleaning business. Along with coffee and alfajores, they offer tea, croissants, empanadas, and sandwiches. They also sell handmade ceramics like unique coffee mugs with interesting designs. Good service. This little store caught my eye while walking towards the Wall Street Pier 11 however it was closed so I made a mental note to come back last year and I am so glad I did! I've been back to enjoy their unique homemade alfajores. I love their Matcha alfajores but there are many other flavors to choose from. Another favorite; their empanadas are also not traditional but unique and deliciously good! Try the chimichurri sauce with them too. Every time I've visited, the staff is ready with a smile, patient and informative. Stop in and get a little something "to go" and enjoy something different. OMG... how have I not known about MCM before? Nestled in a shop on fulton street, this coffee shop/bakery has some delicious options! I was on my way to brunch so didn't get a chance to try their pastries (which all looked incredible) but their drinks were spot on. I enjoyed an iced pistachio latte (made with pistachio milk, a rare but fun option) and my partner enjoyed a flavorful cold brew. The service was really friendly, I enjoyed chatting with them. Keep in mind, it's a small shop without any seating, so more to grab a coffee and pastry to walk around the neighborhood with. Pretty cool how they put pistachio milk with the pistachio coffee, but you can barely taste the pistachio. I wished the flavor was stronger but it is still unique. Maicena was soft and tasty. Tight space with surprisingly strong coffee. Even amongst the narrow alleys of FIDI, this place feels a little too small for comfort. But what it lacks in size it makes ups for in substance. The walls are lined with hand crafted ceramics and the espresso bar sports respectable gear and beans. It's a very small to-go cafe, as there are no seating inside, and about 1-2 people can fit inside at a time! I stopped by in the early morning, and tried their Dulce de Leche cold brew - it was creamy and tasty, but I wished the dulce de leche was mixed in a bit more or were drizzled on the side of the cup - it was all the way in the bottom, and with the flimsy straw, it was just hard to mix everything together. I was looking forward to trying out their empanadas, but they didn't have them available - maybe next time! Service was super friendly and welcoming! Awesome tiny coffee shop in FiDi. The shop is so small that it's easy to miss from street level, especially since you go downstairs to access it. Do not plan on spending any more time than necessary in the store. It's big enough for maybe 5 people to stand and there's no seating. I have now visited here 3 times and have tried their lemon, nut and coconut alfajores! My favorite one is definitely the lemon, but they are all truly delicious. If you can grab them the day they are made, the dulce de leche is so soft and gooey, but even if they aren't fresh, you can't beat how great they taste. I highly recommend MCM coffee. Came in to try it out, I purchased 2 empanadas and then instead of just grabbing my food item that was pre-made and handing it to me, another customer came in after me, ordered a coffee, and the staff started her coffee order before grabbing my food. I thought maybe the empanadas were being heated and I asked and they said no, and the empanada was served cold. $5 each. There were 3 employees in this tiny shop. Poor service and high cost for a cold empanada.
