I do not do this often however this was one of the most disappointing meals, especially after reading all of the great reviews about this place. The only redeeming quality is it has a nice ambiance wine bar esc vibes. The food was cold, bland, the spicing was off , and it took forever. It just really wasn't that good. I understand this is South Bend Indiana and there's not a lot of options, but don't make this one of your options.

I was privileged to take part in one of their last brunches at the beginning of the summer. The food, drinks, and service were all top notch. The parking lot is a lovely perk as well, but you need to arrive early. It is a peaceful, calm atmosphere, perfect for socializing!

Our waitress was great. Explained everything to us and took her time even though we had a ton of questions. Food was delicious and my filet was solid choice. Dessert have first as it was delicious.

No6 was fine. It was pricy, like the way Corn dance is. The hubs said that he thinks the restaurant is really trying to use local ingredients (so maybe that's why some items we had were out of season so It made the dish kind of bland at the end, though it starts off flavorable at first). I thought it was decent, but it was super busy on this random Thursday night that we went. I didn't make a reservation because I didn't know what was on the menu ( they post on FB right before opening and I wasn't committed until I saw the menu which meant you don't get a soft comfy seat if you do a walk in since everyone has already been seated before you. They have a beer and wine license so all of their cocktails are made with pretty much Prosecco, but it was still very tasty, The one that I had with the basil lemongrass. We also opted to order a bottle of wine, and there was a large selection, the most of them I've never heard of. The server Robin was able to give us samples of a couple of different wines and I found one that I liked that the bartender recommended. We are hoping to come back in the summer when all of the veggies are in season so that we can really get a taste of what no6 has to offer. We ordered the brussels sprouts with bacon, which was a very tasty dish but we definitely want more bacon in there! We also got baked Brie with blueberries, which was very tasty. I ordered the duck which was good but I wish there was more duck since I wasn't able to eat the skin since it was very tough. The hubs got the ribeye, which was a good size and tasted flavorful, but then became kind of very salty towards the middle since it was sitting on top of the potatoes, which was probably very well seasoned. They didn't overcook the steak which was appreciated. We didn't get any desserts since the peanut butter cheesecake I was interested in was sold out and oh they actually sold out of the Brussels and bacon appetizer a little bit after we ordered and got our dish. The soup appetizer looked really good but didn't understand how it could be shared but It made sense when the table next to us got it. It just came in two bowls, so I kind of wish we got that as well. Our pre tip bill was a little over 200 and we got two starters, two entrées, one cocktail and a bottle of wine.

So I took it a little out of town this weekend when I visited South Bend. I was introduced to this restaurant by my dearest. This place is has and amazing patio and the the inside is beautiful. They have wines and beers and lots of variety too. The food is delicious, I ordered a pork chop and grits and this just blew my taste buds out the roof. Definitely visiting again - Thanks to the chef

This was phenomenal. Sake and Dine Thank you Robin and Devon you made our first visit here a great one with this pairing.

Love this place! We've been here for pairing dining and this time we just wanted to try out their daily menu. Robin was so pleasant and the chefs came out to greet us and make sure we enjoyed our dinner. A great last night in South Bend! Thank you :-)

AMAZING! My wife says it's the best restaurant meal she's enjoyed (we're from Los Angeles and had just visited Chicago) and I have to agree. Creative, inventive scratch menu, open kitchen concept, no deep fryer, no microwaves, just great food! Warm, cozy environment, tastefully decorated in the former Historic South Bend Number 6 Firehouse. We visited in early August with our two adult sons, we came hungry and were not disappointed. We started with the garlic zucchini bites, roasted beets, and brisket biscuit. The menu is divided, sea, land, farm, and we all stuck to the farm. I had the rack of lamb which was prepared with a tasty rub and served over a smoked blueberry sauce, my wife had the filet and our sons had the veal tomahawk and New York strip. All of the meats were cooked to perfection, were super flavorful and were beautifully presented with awesome accompaniments. We shared a bottle of wine from their extensive, fairly priced collection and finished by sharing a serving of the house made pecan caramel cake which was served warm and topped with house made whipped cream. Our server was phenomenal and really made us feel at home. Our younger son is an aspiring chef and when we told the server this, she brought him to meet the chef, pretty cool! We'll definitely return next time we visit Indiana and maybe we'll be able to try Sunday brunch as well.

    They are not playing around.

I have not yet had the pleasure of trying anything off of Fatbird's normal menu. I'll try to keep this review quick since it is pretty specific but long story short, we loved the unique and well made food and the service and vibes were great! So while Fatbird is known for their chicken sandwiches, my bf and I ordered the $40 lunch for two from this special 2026 menu, which was heavily indigenous Latin American-inspired in the ingredients. For the starter, we shared 8 sweet plantains slices which were yummy but we wish we had more. Then for our main, we split one grilled jerk chicken sandwich with VERY unique ingredients like a pickled green tomato as well as two creative tacos with tender shredded pork and more pickled veg. The tacos were spicy as heck and definitely not for the faint of heart! Lastly, we split a small bowl of arrow con leche brule, which helped bring the heat down from the tacos. While we didn't leave full, we had fun trying a curated and very unique set of dishes with interesting flavors, textures, and spices. The other 4 people we ate lunch with ordered a variety of stuff from the normal menu, some of which are in my attached pictures. My bf also ordered himself a pineapple tepache to sip on, which was $8, and I got myself a diet coke with lemon ($3). Our waitress was on top of her game and was very friendly. The interior is cute and spacious and the bathroom is cute and clean. I love a clean bathroom! Their normal menu has 8000 things I want to try next time! As for this special menu lunch, we paid, after tax, tip, and a credit card surcharge, a total of $67. A bit high for lunch, but good vibes all around!

We sat on their beautiful patio with a perfect view of the St. Joseph River- what a treat! There are opportunities to sit in so many places it felt a bit like a maze in the best way- so much to see! And with all of these places to sit, on a lovely Friday night- this place was poppin'! So we'd likely recommend a reservation if you think of it, but I'm certain the wonderful staff would be able to fit you in as they can! We waited a moment for our food, but with our large group, we were happy to do so as the food was worth the wait! Many of our group got OG Burgers while others opted for chicken wings and brisket sandwiches, or even tacos! They really had it all! The food had a bit of a kick with the spice, but as someone with not a high spice tolerance, it was not too much at all! I didn't get a chance to snap a pic of our dishes because we just scarfed them down- Ha! The service was attentive, but also really independent and relaxed! Cared for, but not micromanaged in the slightest! Free to laugh loud and make memories with no rush out! Worth the stop if you can make it! What a joy!!

This place was bustling!! It seems like a very popular spot! We just had the two of us and were seated at a small two person table between two other close tables - located alongside a long booth bench against the wall that breaks up into individual seating spots. This was totally fine for our breakfast that morning but it's not something I'd prefer if you like your privacy in conversation or otherwise. ;) The service was slow to start but after our waitress came she was mostly attentive the rest of our meal. We ordered 2 coffees. These were stronger and much more delicious than your average "diner cup"!! The staff offered a couple of refills throughout our time. I really loved the simplicity of the menu! There are options with a great variety, but it's still concise and not overwhelming!! Our dishes came out within 10 minutes of ordering, extremely fast and was surprising! My husband ordered the Huevos Rancheros with chorizo and he enjoyed it! The flavors were bold and the plate was pleasing to the eyes except for the avocado which was looked like it was quickly turning. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and had super high expectations for this entree!! It looked so beautiful upon arrival but when I began eating I quickly realized the dish was quite cool! My first half came with a well done poached egg which was disappointing. The second piece was cooked perfectly but was also just not very warm. The hollandaise sauce had wonderful flavor, but again, just wasn't warm - it seemed like the dish had maybe been sitting. I think this dish could be outstanding at the right temperature!! The potatoes that accompany this entree were a little dry for my liking but my husband thought they were good!! :) We noticed other tables with special lattes and several parties being served decadent looking sweet breakfast options - those all looked delicious!! There was a super kind and outgoing waitress serving nearby tables, explaining all kinds of special choices, like lovely latte options that were being offered that morning. The way she so kindly described everything sounded delicious but unfortunately our waitress didn't welcome our table with that same level of hospitality. What we saw being ordered by those nearby was met with great happiness when it arrived to them!! :)
