This also means a lot being a young woman and first time car owner. Every time I've been here, I walked in and the service that I wanted was done within 30 minutes. They have a comfortable waiting room with waters, coffee, armchairs, etc. They also updated me about the state of my vehicle and performed extra services as needed, for instance they filled my tires with air and refilled my windshield wiper fluid (without me asking) and free of charge! MD Automotive goes the extra mile to make sure I can keep on rocking and rolling, and as a relative newbie to Houston and vehicle ownership, they really make me feel like my car is being well taken care of. I cannot speak on the quality of their repair services which I noticed make up most of their poor reviews, but for oil changes and regular service, I will definitely be coming back here!

They have snacks like chips, trailmix, and candy along with sodas and waters for guests to have, free wifi and a clean public restroom. While delays can happen, my real concern is the accuracy and honesty of the information I was given. After their inspection, I was told my vehicle needed a new A/C compressor, condenser, and expansion valve, bringing the total repair cost to $6,411.07, including labor. That is a major expense, so I declined the service and sought a second opinion. I then took my car to Alpine Motor Works, where they identified the actual issue: a leaking Freon valve. They replaced the valve and recharged the A/C system, fully resolving the problem for $205.65 total. There is no reasonable explanation for being told I needed over $6,000 in repairs when the real issue was a minor leak. This feels extremely misleading and unprofessional. I was even encouraged to finance the repair and pay off the balance within 90 days, which now feels even more concerning given how unnecessary those repairs turned out to be. Being given such drastically incorrect information after a diagnostic is unacceptable. Customers rely on shops to provide honest assessments, not inflated repair recommendations. Unfortunately, my experience matches what other reviewers have described. Also, this company has a few unresolved BBB complaints recently. In May 2022, they installed a throttle body on my 2007 Ford Explorer. Shortly afterward, the vehicle began having intermittent stalling, and it has steadily worsened. A throttle body should last 100,000 miles or the life of the vehicle, so this kind of failure this soon after installation is unacceptable. Last week, a second mechanic at a Yelp four-star shop inspected it and said the throttle body was "faulty out of the box" and not a Motorcraft or Original Equipment Supplier part. When I brought the vehicle back to Eric's, they kept it for three full days, then told me "nothing is wrong" and attempted to charge me $125 to "look into it" -- exactly the kind of delay and added fees others have warned about. The manager blamed the delay on having only one mechanic and my vehicle being "in line." To make it worse, they claimed the warranty had expired, but when I asked for the signed warranty documentation, they couldn't produce it. If you're going to deny coverage, you should be able to provide the paperwork you say I agreed to. Run -- don't walk -- away from this shop.

(#1) 10 minutes into the wait, my vehicle was ready. Michael was helpful in explainig the process to me and the total cost was $18.50. He provided the paperwork that I needed for proof and I was out of the door. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star? They left my car running outside of the garage unattended for at least several minutes while I was chatting with them in the office. Anyone could've walked up from the street and taken the vehicle. I was prepared to wait an hour so I went for a walk down the street, and then 10-15min I got a call. They were working on my car and wanted to check and make sure they were using my preferred synthetic oil. They also wanted to make me aware that my coolant was very low, they used a flashlight to show how shallow. They also showed me that there was corrosion on my battery and that my engine block air filter needed replacing. I told them that I actually had a filter in the car, and since the screws were stripped I asked if I could just put in the filter myself. They went ahead and installed it for me feee of charge. They also rang me up while they were finishing up instead of after they were 100% completed, which o appreciated. The price was more expensive that I remembered in the past, but the employees were kind, helpful, and they got me in and out in a timely manner. Some tips: Always look online to see if you can find jiffy lube coupons. I just googled "jiffy lube coupons," there was a jiffy lube site coupon that I could email to myself and use at checkout. Also, being that it was towards the end of the day I think the crew worked quicker so they didn't have to hang around longer. I would recommend showing up with plenty of time, but more towards the end of the day. Don't show up 5-10min before! That's just rude lol Cheers!!
