My dog had an urgent urinary issue and when I called our regular vet, they told me they didn't have an available appointment for two weeks. I called Noah's Ark and they made arrangements to get Chancellor in immediately. The entire staff was amazingly caring and professional, and I was beyond impressed. While processes have been modified for Covid, Dr. Sparkman took the time to show me Chancellor's x-rays (he has stones in his bladder), explain today's procedure, the antibiotics he had prescribed (and why) and next steps in language a layman could understand. He answered all my questions and I can honestly say my expectations were definitely exceeded. When your furbaby is sick, they can't tell you what hurts, so you do whatever it takes to make them better. After today, it looks like Chancellor (and the cats) now have a new vet! If a veterinarian, boarding, all around animal care is what you need I strongly recommend Noah's Ark...We were visiting Williamsburg area and bought our dog with us. He wasn't doing well in the pet friendly hotel so we decided to take him to be boarded during our stay. It was so nice to not have to worry about our pet while on vacation. The cost was extremely reasonable. We ended up getting his shots updated and a couple more services. The office staff was very pleasant and helpful. We were very pleased and upon picking Chico up he was happy to see us and still playful with the staff. We even were given a report from the owner, Thanking us for leaving Chico in their care.... I drive from Newport News to Norge because I trust Dr. Sparkman with my "boys" - Rufus and Beauregard. Both of my boys saw Dr. Sparkman when he was at a local vet office in Newport News. After he moved his practice to Norge, my boys began seeing the other vet at the clinic. It wasn't the same; this vet was fine and I didn't have a problem but he wasn't Dr. Sparkman. Dr. Sparkman takes his time to explain treatment, medical concerns of the breed, and doesn't push for additional services. Choosing a doctor we trust is important for our healthcare and I believe it's just as important for our pets. So that 35 min. drive one way is worth the care and attention my boys get. read more

We needed to find Milo another vet and this place came highly recommended by our neighbor. Making an appointment was a breeze and painless (thank you Paige). Front desk staff was welcoming and inviting (thank you Stacie and Tammy). This was a great 1st appointment for Milo. His tech (thank you Sandra) handled him with care and Milo took to her quickly. We're new to the area and they have taken great care of my Lucky -- a lab/rott mix going on 14! I have used their boarding facilities several times. Lucky is happy to go and always happy when I pick him up. When Lucky had a minor stroke in January, Dr. Sparkman examined him and we discussed treatment options and quality of life issues. So far, several months later, Lucky seems to be doing fine with medications and a modified diet (lower protein.) The entire staff is sweet and caring toward Lucky and always helpful to me. read more

I had to unexpectedly put my cat down this week and Noah's Ark was amazing. We had never been to this practice before but it was an emergency situation and they were the only practice nearby open at an early hour. All of the staff were incredibly kind and compassionate. They gave my young daughter a coloring book, crayons and a book about cat heaven. They were very speedy yet also gave me all the time I needed. The lady that worked on Alpine was amazing. She was so very kind to him and considerate of his heart condition. She did exactly as I asked her to do, and stopped when he started getting a little anxious. I will be back very soon to get his full cut done. Alpine has never seen anyone but one groomer in almost 16 years and she passed away. I was so nervous for today but I couldn't be more pleased and happy with how he looks and how we were treated. We have been taking our Golden Retriever Willie Nelson there for almost 7 years. Everyone there is very friendly and very helpful. Dr. Sparkman always takes time to talk with you and listen to any concerns you have. Thankfully, we have not had any major issues with Willie but I know as he gets older and issues come up, Dr. Sparkman and his staff will be there to help and support us in his care. Dr. Sparkman is an excellent veterinarian who takes an interest in his pet clients and their families. He keeps on top of important tests and cases when a pet is severely ill. Just before Christmas in 2017 he sent us to Richmond for surgery for our dog,Jack, and it made all the difference. After surgery he did wonderful follow-up work with us and Jack is doing well. Noah's Ark has been wonderful to all of my cats. Dr. Sprenkel saved Frankie when she collapsed 5 years ago, and Dr. Sparkman and all of the staff have helped me manage her diabetes ever since.
