Can't believe I'm writing a review of a grocery store but they deserve it. Ever since Zanotto's sold out more than a decade ago we switched to Nob Hill and never looked back. It isn't perfect -- could use a better meat dept -- but the service and selection are generally pretty great, even through the pandemic and supply chain challenges. Entitled woman enters the store with two dogs in tow. Clearly not trained service dogs. No employee confronts her. CA health code violation - these aren't service dogs. Emotional support animals do not qualify. C'mon Nob Hill - put a big sign out so people can't pretend ignorance. I like this store but the employees are pretty apathetic. Checkout clerks today were very slow. One in particular had a full line and was stopping complete service to chat the customer even though there was 3 people with full carts waiting. Checking out could be quicker, especially when there are people waiting. read more

Your alcohol sample guy shouldn't be pouring shots for people who state they've been sober for a year. He clearly stated it was "pre-mix." All mixers are a pre mix before you add alcohol. He should have told me "this has alcohol in it." Take, an ABC course.‍ WTF I'd the store doing giving out free alcohol anyway? I drove there!!!!!!! read more

Came in just to grab milk but it was nice and easy to get. Grabbed a few frozen mochis on the way out as a little and they were so tasty! They have a good selection here. read more

Extremely deceptive with their specials. Example: large sign saying Raley's Large Eggs $1.98/dozen. Cash register rang up $7.98 because they were brown not white. Sign said nothing about color. Another example: sign advertising special price. Cash register rings up much higher price. Why? Because special price requires clipped coupon. Sign says nothing about coupon. Hard not to feel this is intentional deception. read more

Worst customer service.I've ever had in my life. I simply wanted a case of yerba, mate. Haley said shes the main mannager and its on isle 13. I said i checked and its not. She argued and wouldn't get a manager. Worst customer service ive had in 50 years. Wont be to your store ever. read more

The folks at Nob Hill Scotts Valley deserve a WAY better rating than 3 stars, they are friendly, professional and the store is clean with good signage and pricing and well stocked shelves, as grocery stores go they are great. Unlike other grocery stores when the lines get long they actually bring out checkers to take the load, Safeway and Scotts Valley Market both leave like one checker and let long lines form. It may not be the best Grocery store in the world, but its by FAR the best in Scotts Valley, 5 stars! read more

It is apparent that this store mgr does not have the ability to make sure ADD items are in stock. the store mgr compensation is based on profitability. Therefore, by making sure the sales items are not available increases the store profits and in turn her bonus, She/He wins, customers lose!!! look at the reviews 3.2 is very low, so I am not the only one that believes this store is not meeting customers expectations and it All starts at the top! read more

The Deli- Every time I go in there to pick up deli items I do not have confidence. Now I need to leave a review. Today I bought the preciutto and pea pasta - after eating three bites it's ...gaaak... two seconds from spoiled. $7.00 I also bought a pie, on sale, 8.00 it says. Then I get to the register it's actually 10.00. switch and fake-aroo. Dang. In a county dominated by Safeways and their shenanigans I just expect more from Nob Hill. read more

I have worked in customer service industry for the past 20 years and have never experienced what I have experienced with the manager Haley. I never leave a review but signed up to leave one here today because I was so flabbergasted. She was rascist in her remarks to me and would refused to grab another employee to diffuse the situation. Good values, not everything but many items are less than similar stores. Good selection of items. Produce is adequate. Meat & Seafood. Normal. Checkout staff are friendly. This is not a gourmet grocery nor a bargain basement. But you will find many high end items and low prices here. read more

Great grocery store a couple blocks from the hotel I stayed at. Lots of grab and go options and a great deli. Silverware available if you ask. Good deals on produce. Lots of beverage options available on the shelf and chilled. Stocked up on snacks and premade salads for a short weekend conference. Was very pleased with the options. The meatball in the deli was delicious! Parking is plentiful. Bring your own bag if you can. They're open late!!! read more

Today is the last day I will ever shop at Nob Hill in Scotts Valley. There are many reasons why. Shelves are in a disarray. Items are always out (especially distilled water). Meat department is very small and very unappealing. Basically it looks gross. Today I had to wait over 15 min for a deli clerk to come back from his break. He came out with hair down to his waist , not pulled back, no hair net. I asked him where his hair net was and he says "Oh they didn't give one to me this morning". As he scooped my selections his hair was actually going into the salads. I got upset and his response was to slam my order down on the counter. I told the manager, will this help? I'm now taking my business across the street to Safeway. You have lost my business Nob Hill. read more

I want to like this store but the HORRIBLE customer service from Lino will make me shop at Safeway across the street. I was at self checkout and ask Lino if he could scan my cases of waters, it wasn't busy and I had them all lines up with the barcodes facing up so I was really shocked when he said "NO we don't do that". Well they do do that and then another customer came up and he scanned their stuff. Much more then my 4 cases of water. I thought he was just an ass. We have other options in the area so you would think customer service was something they would strive to have. To be fair they do have a few long time employees who are great but not worth risking the chance at this guy or some of the others. read more

BRAVO! Long story, but for a client, I stopped here instead of my preferred markets. It's a little fancy for my taste, but nice anyway. While making the purchases, a Krazy Karen started yelling loudly at a young gentleman at another register because, on an earlier visit, she misread a label and mistakenly bought something that was different from what she wanted. The young gentleman handled it very professionally and without drama on his part, and offered her a free replacement. Krazy Karen predictably demanded to speak to a manager, flipped out, and was then told to leave with nothing. Shoppers stuck in line for all this cheered as Krazy Karen left. It was good to see a young person with such tact and professionalism. read more

This place is so incredibly unprofessional. I walked in asking for protein drinks, and the young man at the self check out says oh they're over there on aisle 13 I knew he was just lying because,he just didn't want to check and then another checker came up and said no they're not they're they're actually over here. And aseptically ,The male checkers look so unprofessional. Their hair is all over the place. They look like they put on the worst clothes to come to work and they're so apathetic. So I go to operator #717177,Store #620,Term #6TodayMarch3,2023. The checker just ignores me, doesn't greet me, same with the bagger they're just screwing around talking among themselves like I'm not even there, charge me a fortune in groceries $70.22 which I don't mind paying for if someone is kind and a little more professional, I asked for $60 back and he just hands me the cash, doesn't count it out. He doesn't say goodbye, no "thank you", and I finally just looked at him and said hey man, can you at least count it back to me to make sure you gave me the right amount of money ? He looked like I asked him to do something impossible he was so put off by the fact that I would ask him to count $60 back. I might as well have gone grocery shopping at Kentucky fried chicken. This place is a joke and it's such a great corporation but their staff is so unprofessional. I'm going back to Safeway. My biggest concern, though, is if my 91 year old mother or 87-year-old aunt from Montevalle retirement community come here that they will be miss treated and disrespected. It's really frightening to know their staff just doesn't care. I want to hear back from the manager of the store. I may escalate this to the corporate office. I'm really worried about senior citizens coming in here. Re the made-to-order deli sandwiches, great the first visit, lousy the second. Also second time in a row they're out of ciabatta. You would think the employee would know her own (limited) menu, like the difference between a panini sandwich and a regular one. I shouldn't have to supervise the sandwich maker to make sure it's grilled which is what makes it a panini. Instead I get limp sandwich on sponge bread. Better choices for lunch in the area, Nob Hill Scott's Valley is scratched off my list. read more

Interesting times in the grocery world. Definitely not good for seniors, a disabled person or any person who does not have a smart phone. This store no longer prints weekly sales or coupons. Now the consumer MUST download the app, search for a sale,clip the coupon, and hope that they will save a few cents at the register. In my opinion it is meant to increase the profits of the corporation with no actual care for its customers. Shame on you. read more

I decided to give this Nob Hill another try and boy was I sorry. The Chicken Alfredo I picked up from the deli aisle was spoiled! The broccoli and noodles had a very odd brown tone and odor on them. Ii threw ot out at work. Now that I know they are selling spoiled items here, I will not return ever again. What a rip off for $9. read more

Curbside pick up is a complete shit show 1st time, I received duplicates of items, items I did not order, and some missing. I tried a 2nd time, thought maybe secret shopper was having a bad day. Big Mistake The website is not user friendly. Do not even bother attempting, as this was very frustrating and staff is either to busy to help or blatantly ignorant. Today was the last straw with this place. I asked the butcher counter for a course grind on a pork shoulder and they refused stating they don't grind pork. That seams crazy since they make Pork sausage but even if it's true at least offer something. Offer the pork sausage! Or anything instead of saying No and walking off. This is a decent grocery store... as grocery stores go.. mostly for a small selection of locally baked breads and a decently sized organic section that takes up about 3 small aisles and has not just frozen goods but good dairy, canned goods, pastas/rice/etc, salad dressings, soaps and other toiletries etc... The nice thing is that they're all in one spot so you don't have to running around all over the store looking for this or that mixed in with other brands. I do wish they were open later... they close at 10, I beleive.. on weekdays and I'd rather shop here than the big, albeit nicely remodeled, 24 hour Safeway on the other side of the street. I dunno why I feel that way, I just do. Maybe I'm lazy and it's because the Nob Hill is on the same side of the street as I am when I drive home? I don't want to make a left turn? LOL... Price is good, parking spaces are wide to avoid door dings, baggers can be a bit few and far between. the meat and fish choices are not the best but the veggies are always fresh and stay for a satisfactory period. we've been going there for more than 10yrs, a tip is to find rick on the checkout and enjoy some movie banter, just brilliant. read more

I like this store a lot. It's very convenient since it has some things that other grocery stores don't carry, like goat yogurt. I like the selection of organic products and the raley's products are less expensive and good quality. read more
