My friend and I ordered takeout so I can't speak to the service or the ambiance, but the food certainly was good. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich and we split fries and Brussels sprouts. First the good - I loved my turkey sandwich. The meat, unsurprisingly, was delicious and the avocado and melted Swiss gave a nice creaminess to counter the crispiness of the bread. My only small complaint was that I don't love lettuce on a grilled sandwich since it tends to get kind of soggy. The fries were good. Nothing exceptional but tasty. The bad - the fried Brussels sprouts were beyond fried. They were literally black. Burnt to a crisp. I like my food a little charred typically but this was well beyond a light char. We ended up throwing them away. It was a shame because otherwise this would have been a five star review. After spending the afternoon checking out a few breweries nearby, Noble Barbecue was just what we needed for dinner. The restaurant is fairly small (several tables and seating along the bar) and there's a few parking spots just outside. Service is friendly, with our waiter being very knowledgeable on the menu. Their menu changes seasonally, so don't come expecting to eat some items you see on Yelp (I wanted some wings because they looked good in the pictures, but sadly they weren't being served the time I went). We decided on ordering the brisket meat platter, as well as an order of the buttermilk fried chicken and a side of the pimento mac and cheese. The platter came with fries, mini corn muffins, and pickles. This was definitely more than enough for two adults and two kids to enjoy. We had left stuffed and had leftovers to bring back to our hotel room. Everything was delicious! The brisket was super tender and had lots of flavor. The buttermilk fried chicken was also good and seasoned well, but preference was for the smoked meat. Our sides were all good. I like how the fries were cut a little thicker. I devoured those mini corn muffins! So good. Pimento mac & cheese was tasty, but the little ones weren't a fan. Another great find! Just recently re-opened. The staff was warm, friendly and inviting. The food was delicious. The scrappy fries were superb!! Fries stayed crispy and they were perfectly fried! The first time we ate here it was because it was near Allagash, where we were meeting family. The second time we ate here was because it was so amazing the first time, we made a point to stop here for lunch on our way to Acadia National Park. We have tried the following and loved loved loved all of it: fried chicken, pulled pork sandwich, tacos, cole slaw, scrappy fries, pimento Mac and cheese, reuben sandwich, and the Rachel, a special sandwich with smoked turkey, cole slaw, Swiss, and thousand island dressing. Their cocktails are also delicious, especially the strawberry margarita and blueberry lemonade. So, my son heard about Noble from an Uber driver. Told him they had the best burgers, so we stopped by to checK it out. You can imagine our surprise wHen we discovered it was a BBQ place. They do have a meatloaf cheeseburger but the rest is BBQ. We spent time poking at the menu and watching the cooks prepare plates for customers. I am not a huge red meat eater, however the brisket looked great. They have a pretty good menu and side options to your liking. Prices are reasonable, though my son thought they were high. Of course I was buying. He ordered the turkey sandwich and I added cornbread to give something a try. The space is nice and offers table and bar seating by the front windows. After you order you sit and they call your name, but still delivered it to our table. The sandwich looked awesome and my son offered me a bite. It was really good. The bbq combined with the seasonings were right on. The cornbread muffin with the special butter was good too. It was a very cold day so every time the front door opened, it was cold. But heated up pretty fast. They must be doing good advertising because it was busy the entire time we were there. Online, in person take out and GrubHub delivery are your options. So, anyway you want it. My only complaint is with their music. Most people did not seem to acknowledge it, but they were not playing the radio edits of songs A father did come in with his 8 year old (guess) and they left thinking there might be more options for the son. No sooner did they leave the song playing dropped a few expletives and more than once. Hey I am open to music choices, but maybe a warning for those who might bring younger kIds. Noble, you are a gem. I could eat their smoked meatloaf cheeseburger daily and never tire of it. I've made my way through about half of their sandwiches and they've all been delicious. I love that every now and then they have done collaborations as well - one of the pizza crossovers they did haunts me to this day as I desperately want them to do it again. Absolutely delicious sides as well. This is in a neck and neck race in my top 2 barbecue restaurants in town, and if I make myself choose, admittedly it is the winner. Oh how I wish I didn't live nearly 400 miles away from Noble BBQ. We paid Noble a visit for dinner upon arriving in Maine for Labor Day weekend. Their outdoor dining set up was awesome. Everything we ordered was incredible. Smoked Chicken Wings with buffalo sauce were meaty, smokey and saucy. Chicken fried style cauliflower bites, damn these were fantastic. Lastly, Smoked Spaghetti Squash Sandwich with pimento cheese praise the lord what a spectacular creative vegetarian option. Our meal was fantastic and memorable. Service by all was top notch and attentive. We still think about our dinner here and will surly dine here again on future trips to Maine. read more

I do enjoy barbecue however I love Noble. Noble is tiny and a little off the beaten path on Forest Ave, but this place is a tiny powerhouse. The smells and flavors are just blasting from this place, but keep in mind only M-F :( That's my only wish, is that they were open at least one of the Weekend days. But that's ok, I have seen how hard they work during the week with a small but energetic staff and friendly staff they do need a break and rest. They should also be able to enjoy the food and beers they serve. :) My favorites, the meatloaf cheeseburger, the fried chicken sandwich and their french fries!!! The mac and cheese when it's good it is GOOD, the last time it was a bit bland and tasted very little cheese. But it was one time, and I won't hold it against them. I will certainly give it another try. The brisket is delicious as it the chopped pork. But the meatloaf cheeseburger will always have my heart :) If you like craft beer and hand crafted barbecue, I highly recommend this place. The food is fantastic!! Their catering company catered our wedding a few years ago and the food was amazing but we hadn't been into the restaurant to eat. The food did not disappoint. We ordered a brisket dinner. It came with fries and a cornbread muffin but we also ordered a side of the pimento macaroni and cheese. The brisket melted like butter in your mouth, fries were cooked the way I like them (a little crispy), the muffin was not too sweet (just right) and the macaroni and cheese was cooked perfectly (not mushy stuff). A big plus was everything was seasoned perfectly, no need for adding salt, pepper etc. The menu is very limited (it does have a vegetarian option) but every element of the food was detailed, including the sides. I tried the enormous spaghetti squash sandwich - it came with tomato compote, pimento cheese, fried bread & butter pickles, and swiss chard on buttered brioche." I thought it was going to have a smokier flavor, but it was much, much sweeter. Sweet BBQ isn't really my personal preference, unfortunately (side note [just because this stood out]: there was also A LOT of golden raisins in my sandwich). I do wanna shout-out the pimento cheese that was on it, though: that stuff was mouthwatering. I was scraping it off the bun with my fork - could they just make me a sandwich with this? Yum. Also, I was a little disappointed with my sides: the slaw was tasty, but my mac and cheese wasn't at all what I was expecting based on photos I've seen. Really good bbq meats here! The menu isn't as large and there weren't any vegetables on the menu. Free filtered water as well because there was no water bottles for sale. They only had seltzer. The service is a bit slow but the meats and sides are really good and made up for it. I got the half pound brisket and it was delicious! I did not end up using a lot of bbq sauce. The Red one was my favorite. I am not a fan of mustard so the Yellow one was not for me. My friend however used it with her steak and cheese sandwich and loved it. I love how this is a local spot and not a chain. The prices are fair as well. Lack of seating may be difficult if you go at peak times. Went here with our sons who recommended the place. Greeted upon entering. Our waitress was extremely friendly and joyful. The establishment isn't very large, yet we seen quite a few orders taken out. It was very clean and we were able to have a conversation without talking loudly. The food was prepared in a fair amount of time. I needed a quick bite to eat on my way through the area. I called in the order ahead of time for a chopped pork sandwich. The pickup was quick and easy, as the counter had signage directing me so I didn't have to wait in the same line as those ordering. The cashier was attentive and took care of me promptly. Noble is your friendly neighborhood barbecue joint. They have all the staples and have taken the time to smoke all the meats to perfection. In fact, you can see the smoker sitting in the parking lot. Many times, I'll need to add extra sauce to my pulled pork sandwiches because they may be dry or under seasoned. Not here! It honestly never crossed my mind! The slow smoking process becomes evident as soon as your mouth nears the bun. You can literally taste the smokiness in your mouth. The sandwiches are plentiful. This is the place. Noble BBQ. I was surprised how small it was based on the reviews it makes it seem like a big operation. There are just a handful of table and some barstool seating. The food is DIVINE! They toast the bun to a crispy crunch that I will never forget. The meat is melty and tender. They have beers on tap. I recently came to Noble, and it certainly took me away from the frigid temperatures, if only for a moment. Noble is located on the outskirts of Portland on Forest Ave, which makes it a perfect spot to grab food after some tastings from local breweries in the area. Though quaint and small on the inside, Noble has a charm with limited table seating and hightop bar seating outlooking the windows. The wooden accents of the counters, the modern lighting fixtures, and the casual aesthetic of Noble gives it a warmth and coolness factor. Also, kudos for parking spots! The food that Noble offers is fairly limited, but what they do have, they do well. They have a variety of sandwich options, meat by the pound, side options, and they even have a few vegetarian options. On my recent trip, I ended up ordering the chopped pork sandwich with a side of fries. Noble also offers alcohol beverage options with beer and wine. For their beer options, they feature a great deal of local selections on draft, and some can options as well. My food came out within ten minutes, and my sandwich was piled with pork pieces and coleslaw, and the side of fries was large enough for my friend and I to share. Noble makes two of it's own barbecue sauces to choose from. A yellow sauce and a red sauce. I opted for the yellow sauce which had a strong mustard flavor to it, which was really tangy and good. The pork pieces were nicely cooked and had a nice smoky flavor to it, and the bread for the sandwich was nice and soft. And the fries surprisingly were a huge highlight. They were cooked perfectly crispy and had a nice dusting of salt. I could eat those fries on the daily. I definitely became an instant fan of Noble for a quick, casual eatery. Sometimes I just don't want to eat downtown and deal with the hustle and bustle, we decided upon Noble last night as it's closer to our home and I'm thankful that we did. Upon entry it was quiet only one other couple in the joint. We checked out the menu and I was pleasantly surprised they had a vegetarian option for the main course so I opted for that, ordered Mac n cheese, corn bread and fries. The young girl at the register had to put her phone away before we could place our order (girl, you are at work...PHONE BE GONE!). The food arrived very quickly. The sandwich was delightful, the spaghetti squash had a nice Smokey flavor, the red sauce was sweet perfection, the fried pickles were yummy (wish I had a side of those) the pimento cheese was heaven in my mouth. It was a nice Smokey sweet sandwich. I tried the yellow sauce and that was of sweet mustard scrumptious consistency. The sides were not as good as mu sandwich. The fries were very salty-this may just be a person thing for me I really do not enjoy to much salt. They had a great crunch and the serving size was more the plentiful. They should really think about switching up their mac n cheese recipe to something creamier and more cheesy, that was very much a disappointment for me.
