Cool bar with cheap beer and chill people.

Good spot. Good beers on tap, solid wines and drinks. Nice bartenders. Love the dark atmosphere with purple and fun lights, interesting vibe. I come here sometimes when I'm on my way to the Love n Haight deli next door. This is quintessential Haight St. loveliness. read more

The only appeal of Noc Noc, as far as I can see, is that they don't card. And they probably don't bother carding because they don't have hard liquor. They don't have anything on tap, either (I think.) They just sell beer and bad sake and sugary hard ciders and stuff. Perhaps they have no liquor license. They do have an interior that looks molded out of a cave, if that cave were in a hipster Disneyland, but is that worth not getting hard liquor for? To me, the answer is no, but Noc Noc is usually pretty crowded. And not just with eighteen year olds, but with older people too. If all this sounds appealing (which I don't quite get why it should) than Noc Noc is for you. I would prefer to go to the sausage place next door. read more

Ok I must admit I am really surprised by the 4/4 review. The owner of this bar is one of the nicest and most open people I know and I have been coming to this bar off and on for years. yes there is no hard alcohol but it is a good beer selection and i totally disagree the prices are outrageous. there is a 2.50 happy hour for chrissakes and the prices are only higher for imports and inline with everywhere else. as for the person who was a "regular" who was homophobic i can't think of any of the regulars who would be and believe me I don't stand for that nonesense. read more

This establishment has to be designed by Fred Flinstone himself. It's dark , it's dreamy. Prevous reviews debate if this place qualifies as a 'dive bar', i say not. It commands its own label - this is a dino bar, that has a killer selection of beer, especially begian, READ - STRONG. Also they have this organic beer, i kid you not. No hard liquor, but you can just go across the street for that. And on thursdays - this place has cool music, electronic and shoegaze, and garage stuff, lots of nooks and crannies to hide out in fro privacy. read more

this place is like walking into a scene from beetlejuice or something else equally as bizarre. it's a fantastic place to go, especially because they let people bring their dogs in. and the "no bud, no miller, no coors" thing makes me really happy. my recommendation: try a p&p - half pear cider, half pyramid hefeweizen read more

Cool spot! I'm a sucker for the underground UK vibe, and this place has it. Noc Noc stands for "Nocturnal Nocturne", appropriate for a bar that plays a healthy amount of drum and bass and jungle. Dark, black light, zebra stripes kinda place. Reasonably priced brew too! read more

It's certainly an interesting setup. Basically its a bar based on the Flintstones decor. I felt like I was in some 80s movie with the neon signs over the cave paintings. Beer is good and cheap but seating is difficult and the bar itself is tiny which can make it difficult to get the bartender's attention. The music is loud but you can shout over it. Noc Noc is a wonderful place for locals and visitors! Locals can enjoy lots of familiar faces and friendly staff, while visitors can gawk at the wild imagery everywhere. The design of the space is intentional, but looks like a mash-up of dreams and nightmares: Lots of dark spaces, walls and furniture covered with (generally tasteful) graffiti, comfy couches, wooden chairs. The barstools are carved, tall, wooden pieces that are fixed to the floor, so it can be a challenge to get in and out of your seat. But it's worth it, because the taps and cooler always have great beers (local and exotic) to try. It's a small space that can get crowded, but I've never seen it so crowded that a seat wasn't available. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Lower Haight! read more

Cool little bar, decent beer selection(obviously overshadowed by Tornado next door), but it's definitely a great spot to grab a few drinks. Interesting intimate seating arrangements allow you to get some privacy if you wish, or be out in the open and mingle. read more

This place is really cool, they took the time and put the effort into making the inside look real cool. They only have beer and wine so don't go looking for mixed drinks. 'talk about some sweet fuckin ambiance! this place is a haunted house without annoying rattling chains and people trying to scare you (although the hipsters scare me anyway). this is a psychedelic scene the likes of which Tim Burton would sit rapt in awe, beer in hand. you should totally check this place out if you are bored with sports bars & bland ass watering holes-- and the bartenders here are top notch. read more

some of the best times i've ever had in a bar happened here, so i'm a bit biased. that said... i like that they only serve beer, wine, and sake. no overpriced cosmos == no yuppie douchebags who drink them. i love the decor. it's been described as "a plane crash in Zaire". the dj on tuesday evenings, Toddot, always plays good tunes. again, i'm biased (he's a friend of mine), so take my opinion with grains of salt. the bartenders are friendly. and if you get the munchies, there are plenty of cheap eats within a short stumble. the lower haight wouldn't be the same without the Noc-Noc. read more

Love this bar! One of my favorites in the city. It's a gem. Decor is so original and unique, like no other place anywhere. Beer is delicious, and I'm not even a big beer drinker. Black and tan is good, and the apple cider ale or whichever, OMG fucking amazing! I miss Noc Noc, it has been too long. I'll be back I promise. Bartenders are nice and talkative. Tip them well bc they're cool. The new bathrooms are good, they old ones were cool but I'm liking the cleanliness of the new ones. I love you, Noc Noc!! read more

The interior has a funky Beetle Juice feel, the seating is totally unconventional and the music is a little too loud but none of that really matters because Noc Noc serves TWO GLUTEN-FREE beers! So awesome. read more

Ive been told to come here cuz Im an unfiltered sake nut. They do serve a couple good brands and have a decent selection of others. We came on a cold slow day so we had the place to ourselves. Kinda nice (and slightly creepy due to the decor) The whole place is shrouded in black-light and all of the walls glow and have florescent artwork. Some even 3d. all said Id come back here, maybe on a busier night to check the vibe full. Minus a star for cleanliness. The glowing ambiance is cool, but you still should dust it. read more

The overall atmosphere was great nice and dark and alot of different things to pay attention too, the prices were a bit high but what do you expect its san fransisco (and i am from ohio). The bartender was very friendly and it was his birthday at the time and his dad brought in cake for everyone and it was very delicious and a nice gesture. read more
