I cannot rave about this restaurant and my experience enough! The atmosphere is cute and modern with a ton of plants and great decoration details. It's an inviting space with a lot of booths (always a plus). Our sever Sierra M was an exceptional representative of this spot. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and the restaurant's strong commitment to gluten free, vegan, and allergy menu offerings. She was also spot on about her drink suggestions--they have a pineapple and jalapeño infused tequila! Sierra was attentive without being overbearing, friendly without be fake (!), and really just took our experience over the top. Everyone at my table had a delicious meal. We got the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, the Cobb salad with GF crispy chicken (that was fabulous!), and the ribs (created as the GF option). There are a great deal of GF options on this menu and they have GFO (gluten free option) designations on the menu as well to adjust some meals to be GF. It is clear that the restaurant takes allergies and food accommodations seriously. We were so excited about of food that we forgot to take pictures. I will definitely be back! read more

NOCO has turned into one of my favorite places to hang out with my friends. The servers are kind and professional, reservations are easy, and the food is good. My favorite gluten free dish is the Hoppin' Jane. It's a mix of rice, black eyed peas, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, and other favorite items served under a drizzle of green goddess dressing. I always add chicken for an extra punch of protein, but it would be fine without. I eat about half and save the rest for lunch the next day (if I can make it that long! Sometimes it's breakfast!). My friends have enjoyed their hamburger specials and their great beverage selection. I have two critiques of this place: 1. Parking can be a hassle. The front lot is small, but there is ample parking behind the building. 2. Prices. I know...inflation. But for one person to have one dish and water runs about $30 with tip. read more

They can make fully gluten-free options. They are very careful for food allergies. Our daughter is vegetarian and always find something to rotate through. The servers are friendly and the ambiance is cosy and relaxed. We go weekly during happy hour for a family meal. I wasn't a fan the first year Noco opened, so if you felt the same way GIVE IT ANOTHER SHOT! The menu has enough options for the foodie or the basic meat & potatoes kinda guy. Came here for dinner this is a dine in review. The service was incredible our server was very patience with our talkative/joking table and was very attentive. Funniest thing was someone ordered nachos for their entree and this massive nacho platter comes out. They said it was amazing The chips here are some of the best chips I have ever eaten. This has been one of our favorite restaurants that we've been going to over the summer months. They also have happy hour on Saturday until 6pm, an added bonus that we didn't even know about. I walked inside, and it is all exposed brick, beautiful open space and decor. We've made reservations on OpenTable, so that is amazing for us because we just don't like to wait. The service we've received here has just been excellent. They've let us move tables, so we can have more intimate conversations with friends and have allowed us to add to our reservations with no problems! Now, the food. It's just different and really great for the area. Several of the appetizers are on happy hour, but our favorites are the calamari and fried pickles. As far as entrees we've had a pretty wide variety and all have been wonderful. My favorite has been the pork chop! My husband's favorite was the salmon. My MIL works near Noco and said it's one of her go-to's, so we stopped here for lunch after a morning of shopping. We got a table outside to enjoy the warmth and sunshine. They had sun shade canopies which was nice and cute greenery along the railing. This was my first time at Noco. I tried the Noco Taco Salad with Ka-boom shrimp. The salad came inside a fried tortilla bowl, which was fun! I really enjoyed that salad. The shrimp was crispy and flavorful..I think it was just the perfect addition to the salad. I recently discovered Noco Provisions. I had driven by it a few times and thought, "I should stop in there." I'm glad I finally did! The interior is quite elegant without feeling stuffy. The staff there have all been super friendly and the service has been nothing but spectacular! Start with the NOCO Nachos! Thier chips are made in house and you can taste the freshness! They don't skimp on toppings either! I was in the mood for a good cheeseburger and boy do they have a good burger! It's actually a double cheeseburger, but the patties are thin enough that it's not too much of a burger. It had a great ratio of meat to bun. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries that were nice and crispy and came with a mustard aioli that was a perfect match. This is going to be a regular place to dine for me. We had a great time here. Beautiful interior decor, lights weren't too bright and it had a vintage - yet - modern vibe. We came around 130 on a Saturday. We were able to pick our table and the host told us the server would be a minute before she could greet us. She gave us waters and we appreciated the heads up! We ordered a round of cocktails, the French 75 was great! Not too sweet and the right amount of alcohol. Then for lunch we got the Nashville hot sandwich (which I believe was actually a wrap) and the Calistoga cobb with shrimp. The shrimp were charred which I love, unfortunately they were not hot or even lukewarm. The Nashville hot chicken was delicious, definitely not too spicy! Fries were good too. I'm finally posting a review with pictures, I'm usually too excited to demolish my food ‍ I decided to order something different as I always get the same thing. This time I got the Noco Chopped salad and OMG where has it been all my life?! My taste buds are seriously obsessed. It's everything I love in my salad! The basil vinaigrette dressing is just the perfect finishing touch. If you want protein you absolutely need to order a side of chicken. Their chicken is seasoned to perfection and I love that it's pulled! Finally, let's talk about the peas and carrots! Carrots still had that crunch to them, peas and pesto were the perfect match. Clean restaurant and staff seem to be pretty welcoming. The food I ordered which was a steak had to be one of the worst steaks I've ever had out of my life. Wasn't seasoned and restaurant did not have any steak sauce. I would definitely not recommend getting $36 steak no thicker than .25 of a inch thick. If you selling a steak for $36 at least season it well if you don't have steak sauce. Disappointed with the meal. read more

Came here for my Birthday lunch. We were seated right away but in the same place we've sat before, in a dark corner, when a window booth was open. We waited for some time for service but no one came, not even to drop off waters. We decided leave and passed two hostesses standing around. This isn't the first time we've experienced this level of service from Nocos over the past few years. The food is ok but not worth being treated that way. The restaurant itself is cozy and chairs are positioned closely together. The decor reminds me of an antique shop - yet modern. The bar has really nice lights around it and looks fun to sit at - although today there was only one bartender and the customers weren't super engaged with. We sat just to the side of the bar. We had, what appeared to be the bartender, serve us drinks and after we waited a good 5-10 minutes, a man came over and asked if we had any questions and he took our order. The food took about 20 minutes to come out, I can't remember if our server brought it to us or if it was someone else. After we completed our meal, we waited a bit before the gentleman that took our order came back to clear our plates and tell us to "have a great day". We waited some more for someone to bring us a bill so we could pay and leave...the bartender then appeared again with the bill. I will say that the food was decent but it wasn't worth the unusual service. I would say, invest in some more employees and you will have a great set up! The buttermilk chicken sandwich had a great toasted bun, crunchy slaw, a pickle and a jalapeño for a little spice. I would've given this review a 3.5 star response if possible. My primary grip is the menu. Just didn't work for me as far as options go. Beat burger? Ack. However... My wife and I both ordered the beef burger and it was delicious. We both loved it and enjoyed every bite. Fries were fine. The atmosphere on a weeknight was good. Pretty full and a good vibe. The bar was full in the center of the restaurant. Good feel. Our server was excellent, as well. Stopped by when needed. Didn't over do it. A+ on service. Price was satisfactory, too. Not crazy. Not impressed by Sunday brunch. Service was slow, explained by our waiter as having to take care of "two large parties" first. So the four of us waited some 30 minutes for our food, which, unfortunately, wasn't worth the wait My dish -- the day's "special" blueberry pancakes were dry and served cold, with a bare drizzle of blueberry sauce as a decoration. I had to request butter and syrup, which was treated as if I'd requested incense and myrrh. The butter was grudgingly brought 10 minutes later, but, alas, no syrup. By the time the butter actually showed up the pancakes were stone cold, so the butter just sat there on top in a big glob. The bacon, too, was cold and greasy - as the perfect complement to the truly inferior breakfast. My spouse ordered an omelette and toast,but the place is much too fancy for toast. Instead she was served a dry, unbuttered biscuit about the size of a small cow patty. No butter was provided, even when requested, and a request for grape jelly was also treated as if it were insulting to the restaurant's culinary standards. Advertised as "elegant dining," NoCo is a no-go for us. read more

Definitely a great dining addition to the area near Cascade and Forest HIlls Ave. Noco is supposed to stand for "northern comfort food" and they definitely have that but in a hip, upscale environment. We didn't find that it was too loud, but it wasn't quiet. The service was great and price point was quite reasonable. My wife and I ate here recently and we started off with the avocado mash toast, which was a fantastic meld of avocado, lime, chiles and cilantro. For dinner, I got the Heritage Fried Chicken. If fried chicken, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots isn't comfort food, I don't know what is. This was a great example of buttermilk batter and was covered in chorizo gravy. I literally could not get enough of it. My wife got a chopped salad with chicken added to it. To drink, I had coconut water - in an actual, whole coconut. It was great and there was more in there than I would have thought. My wife got a milk jar pudding for dessert while I got the fried donut holes (I liked my dessert better, but her's tasted pretty good too.) We decided we really liked this place and would love to come back soon to try more. read more

When you sit at the bar - you expect great service right? Whelp - didn't get that at Noco. Really, no service at all took place during my dinner there with only 1 other person. After the male bartender made our drinks (shit ones, mind you), he never returned with menus, never asked if we wanted dinner (after 25 min had gone by). I had to ask the people next to me to look at their menu, then pull a waitress from the floor to order food. Neither bartender working asked if we ever wanted more want more water, never asked if we wanted another drink, never asked if our food was ok (it wasn't). Never took our dishes away. Mind you- the bar was NOT full, and eye contact was made several times. What in the actual hell? I never write bad reviews because I worked in the service industry and I get it! But this was unexplainable. My first experience was great, but after tonight I'll never return. read more

As we drive down Cascade road the energy happening at Noco was palpable through the air. You could see, sense and smell that something fun was happening. It was noco's opening weekend. The overall concept is northern comfort food in a slightly upscale but very family friendly environment. The touches of upscale dining are a great fit for the area that the restaurant is in. Even as you pull up to the parking lot you can choose to valet your car for added convenience. The place- including the outside patio was absolutely packed when we walked in. It was a mix of reservations and people like us who came in because the parking lot was so full and wanted to be a part of the action. We waited 20 minutes while having drinks at the bar- and I have to say the manager helping the new hostess was especially helpful in getting us a table that would suit a 3 month old baby. The service as friendly but a bit slow- likely because it was opening weekend and the place was packed. That being said- since they were so friendly it didn't affect our experience. Food wise we all ordered different items. They have lots of classic dishes with a twist. I had a dish similar to poutine that was filled with fries, gravy and a fried egg. It was comfort food at its best and only $7. Another honorable mention was the fried chicken with country gravy and vegetables. Definitely not a light dish but it was tasty- a tad spicy which was a nice surprise. The burgers were pretty good- and they did have a vegetarian beet burger as an option that we ordered. Flavor wise it was very good but the side of potatoes must have weighed 2lbs. Not to complain about too much food but if you order the side of potatoes you can probably split it with 2-3 others. Finally the tuna tArtar was great! It was served in a small jar with marinated chunks of pineapple. Great flavor and very light. I would come back and order this for a power lunch. They really need to do something about the noise here. We had a reservation for 7:00. The place was full and conversation was impossible. That said, everything else was lovely. We started with cocktails (of course). Patti and I had the Q Coin, a tequila drink, Mark had a draft IPA, and Jim had a mule, all very drinkable. We enjoyed the tuna poke with that - nice pineapple flavor which is richer than the typical lime. Mark and I shared the tri tip steak, Patti had the fish stew and Jim had the walleye. Each was will prepared, although Patti would have liked some zip in her stew. The servings were ample and the flavors good. We ended our evening with a peach gallet and their milk pots - little jars of custard. Both were delectable. The service was great. The servers were there when we wanted them and not when we didn't need them. We will come back. We'll just sit outside. read more

On Father's Day, ~12:30pm, we arrived. 2A/3K, 1 infant. The parking lot was empty, the restaurant half full. See pictures I took while waiting ~15/20min to get seated. Granted, maybe their seating couldn't accommodate our party. HOWEVER, the real issue was waiting +45 minutes to receive food after we ordered. Not 45 from seated, but from when we ORDERED. Again looking at the pic, on Fathers Day, how are you not staffed to handle orders in a timely manner. Needless to say, my son and I had to leave at 1:25 to catch a movie, so I asked to cancel the two of our orders, the rest were finally served at 1:40. They did not cancel my order and charged us for it -- no reconciliation of any sorts offered. I cancelled 15 minutes before the meal was served!!! Eggs.. how long do eggs take to cook!!! Owner and management needs to get their act together, I am in full boycott mode. And by the looks of how "busy" it was on Fathers Day..other see the problem as well. This restaurant won't survive, despite a good/well needed location to have this type of restaurant. Patrons should not have to accommodate such poor management - like the concept, like the location, and food. Underwhelmed by the lack of execution and that is on management/ownership. Noco is a restaurant I drive by a lot! It's located at cascade and forest hills. The parking lot is always packed with cars, and I assume they stay busy because of the central location to many residential areas around the E/NE side of town. I used to come into this restaurant more when they first opened up, but things have gone a bit downhill in my opinion. I would come in for lunch on my day off, order a champagne cocktail and either the burrata toast or Caesar salad. The Caesar salad used to be made with delicious Parmesan crisps, they've subbed these out for plain croutons recently. The dressing has also seemed way too fishy the last couple of times. Bummer, because it used to be delicious. The burrata toast is really a perfect lunch as well. Think of it as an open faced sandwich. I used to love the seasonal preparations they would do. My favorite was the "pea pesto" it was so flavorful with the burrata, though I did add salt and pepper. They stopped changing it up and now it's "tomatoes 3 ways" I like the tomatoes, but really miss the pesto. They also took my favorite drink, the Eiffel Tower, off of the menu. I tried to order it last time I was in anyways and it didn't taste quite right. I would have a hard time ordering off the dinner menu here. Personally, there's a lot of items the "almost" look good. Not really a stand out selection. I'm disappointed that my favorite menu items have taken a turn for the worse, but the restaurant must be doing something right because they're always busy. read more

Argh...no gluten free bloody mary mix here! There is likely a bit of cross-contamination here, too - for those with food allergies. Alas, they have a gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan menu. And the options for those with food allergy are deep and wide rather than the typical salad or side of blah. Diverse seating available from high top to low-top tables, booths, yet mostly wooden chairs for tables. Lighting is dim and the sound is appropriately tamed with the necessary architectural features to do so. Staff is AMAZING! Friendly and knowledgable. Stop by here for dinner or lunch. I haven't tried the food here, so this may get upgraded in the near future. I love the decor and ambiance. I especially enjoyed sitting in their lounge area with the comfortable chairs and the polished stump end tables for drinks! The service was quick and helpful. Sadly on the morning I went for brunch 2 of the 3 drinks I wanted were sold out. It's tough to give a good rating to a place that runs out of Bloody Marys during Sunday morning brunch. It's kind of like a sports bar running out of beer during the super bowl and asking customers if they wouldn't mind switching to merlot. That said, the drink the waitress recommended was very good. I recommend the Rice and Beans ( boozed up coffee drink). It's dangerously good. My friends got mimosas, they didn't have the type advertised on the menu, but the staff managed to creat some pretty good traditional mimosas instead. This place is a trendy new spot in GR. The menu has some of the newest trendy foods like avocado toast (see picture). I was on a date with my girlfriend and she loved the atmosphere and so did I. The prices before 6pm (happy hour) were very reasonable. Rum punch $5 Red wine $6 Chicken sandwich $8 Avocado toast $4 We also had the carrot cake. It was delicious!!
