Noelle gave me my reflection back. I came to her after a year of medical hair loss and was starting over with about three inches of regrowth that was in bad shape. If I could give zero stars I would. This salon is only looking to pad their profit and cares very little, if at all about clients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I started emailing Noelle regarding how to best help my 12 year old daughter. She seemed to have a good understanding of what was needed[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I drove three hours for mesh integration for my daughter. This was the only place that I could get to without a very long wait, but was desperate and the photos and reviews looked promising. They offer a consult and install the same day. We ended up getting stuck with Aurora, who seemed nice, but clearly has no clue how to do mesh integration. We were offered a private room, but for some reason we were ushered out after about 20 minutes. We worked together to select a topper for my daughter. It seemed bulky to me, but I'm not the expert. From the get go, we were told my daughter's hair was too short to have the topper placed along the hairline and eventually they could move it forward. We were told that the piece would relax and eventually it would conform to her head and look more natural. Neither of these things happened. I paid $1200 for a topper plus an additional $200 for the install. We returned 4 weeks later, still hopeful more growth and more settling of the piece would make it look better. It did not. I booked this second appointment with Diane, again hoping a different stylist would do a better job. Also, Aurora wasn't available on this date. Entered the salon only to see Aurora, and was quickly dumped by Diane so she could finish someone else. Again, Aurora did a terrible job. Shame on me for going a third time, but was willing to try mesh-less install for more comfort. Again, Aurora did a horrible job. I couldn't believe I could get worse than the first two times. I'm glad I was able to finally get an appointment with someone who actually knows what they were doing. But appointment number 3 was right before Easter and we were hoping for a miracle. This salon preyed on a desperate mother trying to help her daughter. They should be ashamed. We are so thrilled to find someone else. She was quoted $1,100 but these girls in this salon are hustlers !! They will tell you one price then once they have you in the chair they'll up charge you once the job is practically done !! Second , they cannot dye hair !! Whatever type of dye they use turns your hair orange. The stylists dye hair with keratin bonds in the hair which destroys your natural hair! it is almost two weeks later now. Although I was told that by the stylist that the salon owner will give me a call, I haven't got any calls from the salon. Meanwhile, I found a new place to do my extensions. I have to say, it is so much better. Last time I got my extensions moved up at Noelle's, the stylist was peeling the tapes off carelessly and caused a lot of pain and my hair falling out. I was told that was part of the what tape in involves and if I switch to Noelle's own extension product, it won't be like that. When I got my extensions taken out by another salon, there was no pain. The stylist told me that it is simply putting enough alcohol on the tape. there was also a lot of cross hair form loops on the tape as they showed me. Be careful with many things there: 1. The actually price can come in twice as much as the quote price. By then, you already got the extension in your hair, there is nothing you can do about it but pay. 2. who you choose to be your stylist. The experience can be terrible and no one cares about you as a customer, either the owner or the stylist. 3. poor customer service in general 4. I have been seeing Yodit for tape-in extensions which are great and last a long time but heard about the veil extensions and wanted to try it. I tried a sample before the pandemic shut down and they lasted all the way from March to June without twisting. No glue. No damage to my hair. I received a Nift card for $30 off a cut and color and Noelle's. I'm not always a fan of the choices Nift offers but Noelle's has been on my radar for a while as my step mom used to rent a chair there after she and my father sold their salon. I came in around 5 on a tuesday night and Tseday helped me decide on a nice color. I didn't want anything drastic, just wanted to lighten my face up a little. I told her in the past I've done red highlights so she went and mixed a gorgeous color for me. It came out as a red-ish/auburn hue which is just what I was looking for. I went to Noelle's years ago and had a great experience. I went back mid March 2021 to get bonded extensions for my wedding. I immediately loved them but about a week or two later I noticed something was wrong. It looked like I had lice or dandruff and the bonds were showing. I thought it was normal until my hair artist for the wedding day began doing my hair. She was HORRIFIED to say the least. We talked the next day and she advised me to call Noelle salon back ASAP and get them taken out. You can clearly see the "bulbs" or follicles that are white and pulled out of my hair. That should never happen and can lead to permanent hair loss. I reached out to Aurora and showed her the pictures and she said that was "natural hair fall." Bull shit. I'm not dumb. After getting this response I decided to not go back to Noelle's to get them taken out purely because I was afraid of them doing MORE damage and charging me for their mistake. Not to mention I was quoted about $500 dollars by the owner when I initially reached out about an estimate. The day of I was charged $1200 which is quite a difference. When you are new in town and color your hair on a regular basis, its always a bit difficult to find a hair stylist who would understand your hair and do a great job. I went to experimenting at several places before someone mentioned Noelle Salon. My initial experience was good. I became their regular client. But the best happened when my regular stylist suddenly left and I was introduced to Yodith on an emergency basis. She's the best hair stylist I have ever worked with. I leave the salon happy and elated after each recurring experience. She takes her work very seriously and as an art. She's instilled a personality into my hair. She suggested brazilian blow dry for my hair which could be very unmanageable at times. I was a bit skeptical before getting it done as I have had Keratin treatment done earlier and it didn't help much. Yodith was certain that it would help. It has work wonders. Edit: received a call from the owner of this salon who had wonderful customer service. I really do appreciate the resolution and will go back for my next haircut. I went to this salon last year on a whim to get a pixie cut. I was a bit scared because I've had terrible haircuts since i moved to Boston (almost 6 years ago) but surprisingly I had a great experience and cut. So naturally when I was ready for another cut I would return. I don't know what happen this time. I saw the same stylist and right off the bat it was a different experience because she didn't talk to me and mostly cut my hair away from the mirror so I faced the person next to me. I figured it was probably a long day for her so I didn't think much of it. I came in for some shape in my hair since when my hair grew out it was starting to appear mullet like in the back and my bangs had grown out. I was suffering from such significant hair thinning and loss after losing weight and a thyroid problem that I had cut it super-short. I went from ugly short to traffic-stopping bombshell hair in one day. It was a real privilege for me to have Noelle do my hair, it is obvious that she is the best person around for extensions (both for quality and price). All the stylists there are nice, fun to talk to, and professional. After the extensions were in, I received detailed written instructions on how to take care of them, and a "check-up" was scheduled about a week later to make sure everything was ok (it was great). I decided to get a Brazillion blowout by Yodite at Noelle's Salon yesterday. I had never even heard of it, but she recommended it because I have naturally curly hair and when I straighten it it takes me too long. I usually only have my hair straightened when Yodite colors it. My hair is so shiny and healthy now and this procedure cuts the time in half when you straighten it. Today I did not even have to use hairspray because i had no fly away hairs like I usually do. I have been coloring my hair black for many years now so attempting to add in fantasy colors at this point would be near impossible and highly damaging. By far one of the best salons I've been to, Europe included. Go. Just go and book an appointment. Noelle is sweet as a button and is not like a typical owner. This is my initial review after just the consultation. The owner Noelle was very nice and attentive; she came over and introduced herself and asked if I had any general questions about the salon. She was on her way out for the day so I continued on my my consultation for my micro-lock/loop/band hair extensions. I had an extensions consultation with Brenda. Brenda seemed, sloppy, uninterested and I felt like I was wasting her time. She leaned on the counter and answered my questions with pleasent, but simple one word answers. She kept saying how tired she was and couldn't wait until she could go home. She explained that if I wanted my hair colored to match the extensions another girl would have to do because she was pregnant. TMI. But I guess that explains all the complaing at work??? She seemed knowledgeable about the different extension types, but not like Noelle. Noelle was much more confident. She explained about dying after installing or before to match. They didn't have any curly hair in stock so I would have to buy/bring my own, or have them order in the color(s) of my choice. After all this information I was very confused and not sure what to do. When I expressed this, all I got was an oh, which made me even more furstrated and wanting to throw my hands up and just forget the whole thing. I supposed my expectation was for them to say, this is what you need, this is the best for your hair type, this is what we need to do to your hair first, this is what you need to buy for extensions, make and appt. on this date and voila! But no, it was a lot of, well you could do this, or that or both, or neither. Too many options for someone who's never had extensions and doesn't no where to begin. The price they quoted was the same as I received on the phone, an hourly rate, if you bring your own hair, and about 4+ hours for the whole head. They did honor the Yelp 'check-in' freebee of one item and they suggested a conditioner for me. To schedule the appointment there was a $100 non-refundable deposit required. I understand this is necessary since you're going to be in there for 4-6 hours and they have to block off the time. You can reschedule, but can't get it back if you change your mind to not go. This is my second review for this place. After I left a bad review several month ago I was contacted by the owner and offered free hair cut or a blow out. I did not respond because I want to be treated fairly and respectfully the first time I do business. However I did appreciate the offer. I went back today. I did not have an appointment, but the receptionist was very helpful and found a stylist that was available at the moment and Tseday took me in right away. The first time I went there one year ago I purchased their extensions and they applied them and the cost was $550, The second time I went there , I brought in my own extensions and then the stylist told me I didn't have enough hair and the cost would be $550 for 3 rows of their hair. I just had to write this review. I have been a long time customer of Noelle Salon and Spa. I started visiting Noelle in 2010 and have stayed faithful ever since. My first experience was not the best. I too had some nuances that annoyed me enough to contact Noelle and share them with her. Noelle stepped up to the challenge and offered to work on resolving my initial concerns. To this day, I am grateful for her patience . . . and mine. I have VERY DIFFICULT hair. It is hard to work with - so why should I expect a stranger to work miracles when I have not figured it out myself after 42 years? My hair is extremely straight and it stops growing at a length that I consider too short. So after relocating to Boston from Maryland, I decided to try hair extensions with Noelle Salon - which are definitely the MOST AFFORDABLE on the entire East Coast. (I have had hair extensions in DC - nightmare, on Boston's Newbury Street - expensive nightmare, and in Southern Maryland - horrific). That all being said . . . clearly, hair extensions are an art form and it is honestly hit or miss. Therefore, when considering hair extensions, realize that you should go to a place like Noelle Salon that has been doing them for more than 18 years! At Noelle Salon, I have invested the least amount of money to get just that look I wanted! We have tried the fusion method, the clip method, and now most recently the tape-in (aka seamless hair extensions). Despite the method used at Noelle Salon - the quality of the hair has always been top-notch. It is very much the responsibility of the person sporting the hair extensions to take care of them. I workout a lot . . . so sweat is an issue for me. It took me losing a few strands to realize that dry shampoo can work WONDERS for hair extensions. Spray it in before a workout and my extensions do well. I have also learned that it is EXTREMELY important to wash my hair and scalp really well and not leave shampoo residue. Sounds simple, but you would be amazed how many of us rush through and do not properly massage in our shampoo and then rinse sufficiently enough to remove the residue. How do I know all of this? Noelle has taught me this and so much more. Noelle is a genuine person who truly cares about the happiness of her clients and wants to share her knowledge of hair care. Her commitment to beautifying the State of Mass and beyond, one woman or man at a time, is commendable! I am so happy with the tape-in extensions. They work for me and my hair type. I have been going to see Iyonna since the fall of 2019. And even now I have moved 2000 miles away and she is still the only person I trust to do my hair. Not only does she do a phenomenal job the prices set by the salon are fair. I had a guy charge me 3x what I pay here and he also used really cheap hair and did a really poor job and it took a really long time like 9 hours for him to do. Iyonna works fast and my hair looks fly as fuck. She also will point you in the right direction of where to get hair if the type of hair you need is not in the salon. No matter what I ask for(extensions, not to dye my hair, trim it, take out extensions, dying my extensions, Brazilian blow out etc.)she gets it done. Emery is a dream come true. I came in with fine short hair and a few hours emerged with long thick hair due to his great extension work. He is very experienced and knows what he is doing and is a master at what he does. He takes great pride in his work and is a great hairstylist and finisher. I returned to dye my hair, as I am a big fan of dark hair. The black that was used to color my hair was an amazing shade. I would highly recommend him for extensions along with hair color. After a few very expensive haircuts and colors at "Boston's Best" salons on Newbury Street (one of which basically ruined my hair for a year), I emailed Noelle about extensions. She responded in a timely matter, was very nice, gave me a reasonable quote and I was able to make an appointment to get my dream extensions within a week. My appointment was with Yodit, who I must say, was a breath of fresh air after all the snoody hairdressers I had encountered on Newbury. Yodit did a FABULOUS job with my extensions, they matched perfectly, were the perfect length, and I left feeling gorgeous. My extensions stayed in for three months, my only complaint was I spent a ton of time conditioning and brushing my hair on a daily basis, but I suppose that can be expected when you have long locks! When I went in to get them taken out, Yodit was great. She took them out and despite what everyone told me, my hair was healthy and had grown since I had gotten them put in. She gave me a trim, and I left again pleased that I didn't have to break my bank to get a decent haircut. If I could afford it, I would get extensions more often, but until then, I will keep coming to Noelle Salon to see Yodit for any hair related needs. No more Newbury Street for me. read more
