I will be giving a three‑star rating. I've tried both sizzling and regular sisig before somewhere else, so during my visit to Nogakes, I ordered their sisig expecting something similar. Unfortunately, it was a regular sisig--not sizzling--and the dish was disappointing. There were no pork cheek or pig's ear, only pork meat, which changed the overall texture and flavor. The sisig was also quite wet, with noticeable sauce underneath, making it feel unlike traditional sisig. There is definitely room for improvement. read more

Stopped by again because I try to support not only filipino restaurants (being a filipino myself) but on my last visit before this, the food didn't taste as good so I wanted to give them another try to see how consistent they are. I was so excited to try the Lechon Kare Kare. The lumpia was a hit but not the Kare Kare. It was too much peanut butter and not a well balanced dish. Also, the vegetables lacked. Omg this place is the bomb dot com. Recommended to me by all my Hawaiian-Filipino friends, the family handling this joint is making things consistent and with high quality. I have to go back and remember the camera eats first but so far not disappointed with lumpia, their classic is fire flame and I fell in love with the shrimp lumpia. I am yet to try the vegan but sig sig was on point. Can't wait to go back and actually sit down to eat. I have gotten take out thus far so not much to say about service. We've been here twice now, and it's decent. The issue we have is that the meat dishes lack meat, especially those dishes with bone. Or, if there is meat, it's tough. I normally order from GrubHub and provided a stellar review there, but recently went in with a friend who had never had Filipino food. Sofia/Sophia greeted me and provided instruction on how to order and provided me a menu to peruse while I waited for my friend. She was very informative and kind while providing exceptional professionalism. The food was like an elevated version of the traditional way of cooking. Normally the Filipino food restaurants are somewhat set up as cafeteria style, sitting in hot square warmers and who knows how long they were sitting there. And of course dishes like Kare Kare are done one way only. If you are not a fan of tripe and ox tail, Nogakes is the restaurant for you!! Food is made to order - at least I don't see that it is sitting in warmers and the way the Kare Kare was plated definitely looks to have been put together as opposed to sitting around for awhile. Food was hot and very tasty, the Crispy Pork Belly Kare Kare was exceptional!! I crave this dish already, but adding the Lechon Kawali style pork belly makes it addictive! We also had the bbq chicken that had the color of char siu, but had a great sweet savory taste. Their pork lumpia shanghai is also an addictive side dish. And I could go on and on about their garlic fried rice!!! I don't know if they sous vide the garlic and then fry the rice with the oil and add the finely chopped crispy fried (but not burnt) garlic bits, just know it is a must to order!! We also had the pancit, and it was cooked beautifully. My only laments - and they are extremely minor: Kare Kare: wish there were more bok choy and green beans Pancit: had I known there were chopped bell peppers I would have asked to omit those Otherwise, this restaurant was clean, no flied flying about or gnats like most of the small Filipino food restaurants I have been to in Las Vegas North of Cheyenne. I will definitely be returning and absolutely be ordering from them again and again. Keep up the wonderful food! read more

My wife wanted Filipino food so we wanted to try someplace new rather than our usual fare. When we walked in we were greeted right away by Sophia. The place was nice and clean and has a nice ambience. She sat us down and gave us the menus and explained how to order. My wife ordered the chicken adobo with lumpia and I ordered the pork belly adobo. It didn't take long for the food to come. When I dug into my pork adobo, it was the most tender pork adobo I had ever had. We've been to many Filipino restaurants around town and I have to say that this was the best by far; flavor and tenderness. I tried some of my wife's chicken adobo and it was just as good. For dessert, we tried their halo halo. Nothing fancy like others that have too many ingredients at the bottom. It was nonetheless very refreshing on a very hot Vegas afternoon.
