I love Pete's!!! Chicken tenders are always crispy and juicy. One of my all time favorite chicken restaurants

Thought I'd give Pete's a try after the other locations have closed and suddenly I get it. I get the three piece meal and drive 5 minutes back to my office with cold fries, a weak Dr. Pepper and three mystery pieces of chicken. The best I can say about the pieces is that they were difficult to navigate in attempts to get the meat off the bones. The batter was very dry and pretty bland. The fries...tasteless. Went to the drive thru at the Pete's on port. They told me to wait in lane 2. 20 mins later they still had not brought our food. I went inside they said they did not know what happened to my food they had to remake it 20 mins later they finally give me my food did not even apologize just shoved the bag at me. I went home and found a piece of sharp plastic in my burger. I called the store the manager Ross was very rude told me I can't have corporate number. Then hung up on me. And block my number. Very rude people I do not recommend at all. read more

Normally Love Pete's chicken. Waited 20 minutes for our basket order. Seven cars after us got their orders. Had to inquire about our order. Ended up getting our money back. Well, they lost our order ticket. So disappointed! Gave us our money back. Two weeks ago went to Pete's on Saratoga, food was so greasy it leaked from the bag and got all over our clothes. read more

Food is great but sometimes they forget my gravy or run out on food. I highly recommend the food it's delicious, but the time waiting for your order is beyond ridiculous. The location on S. Port Ave. is horrible right by the expressway which makes it difficult to drive to the restaurant or even leave. Especially when you are asked to leave the drive thru and wait then gotta move to another spot in the crowded parking lot. This location needs a bigger spot, maybe more help to get the food out faster. Too much traffic at this tiny location. read more

We moved back to TX after 20 years. We had been spoiled with incredible fried chicken in FL and VA. We got here and couldn't find ANYTHING. Until my SIL told me they liked Pete's Chicken. We ordered 8 meals today. Absolutely disappointed. With restrictions due to Covid-19, dining in isn't an option at any restaurant. It's fair to believe take out service would be top notch any place you order. This chicken was below average and cold the fries were old, Mashed potatoes instant and garbage, missing several items (all sides) and they did not pay attention to the 'notes' section of the order in which instructions like 'no mustard, no tomato' were written. Overall: I feel ripped off ordering from this 'local company' a $60 dollar order = 60 reasons to feel like this was a bad decision. Two enthusiastic thumbs down. Disgraceful really. If you don't want to excel at your position, just quit. There are people who will do a much better job : that's for management and the people who took care of our order today. read more

Delicious chicken. The yellow gravy is a must. I crave it. When in Corpus it's a small little spot with a drive through and good food. Fries are good. The burgers are great. Drink the sweet tea it's so so good, they even sell it by the jug. read more

Ordered a dozen gizzards. I recieved 5 gizzards, 6 half gizzards and a fried pickle. I think everyone knows what a gizzard looks like. It is basically two round pieces usually attached to each other. Sometimes they separate and at that point it is one round piece,not a full gizzard. So my order had a total of 8 gizzards and a fried pickle, clearly not a dozen. They made the order right by adding four gizzards. Upon leaving, I showed the manager a pic of a gizzard, and asked if they would be counting a half gizzard as one. And he told me thats the way they come now and he was counting each piece as one, regardless if it was a half gizzard or a full gizzard. I am very disappointed as gizzards and tea was the only reason i came to Pete's. I told him I would not be returning. I also pointed out that he buys the product in a box by weight, not per piece. To be fair the gizzards are delicous, but I can not pay for 12 if Im not gonna get 12. He did say he was sad that I would not return, but failed to recognize how he is shorting his customers. read more

The chicken is decent, specially the chicken tenders with gravy, you can add some Pete's spicy seasoning to the gravy and BAM! You got yourself a nice flavorful piece of chicken. There was this one lady who works there she was very nice. The only thing is that the place in general is like a fast food type of place. read more

Very disappointed I order their fish tacos being it was Good Friday. But when I got home and open the box the tortilla was over toasted and the fish was over cooked . It look like they just threw it all together. I was looking forward to their fish tacos unfortunately I will never again order fish tacos from them again . read more

I have started eating here on a regular basis. Cause every day I can get something different. Not only do they got the best chicken in town, they got better burgers and fries than whataburger. They buffalo wings are just right, not to spicy buy good. Also got chicken tenders, chicken sandwich, chicken tacos, steak sandwich, steak fingers, fish, shrimp, ect. Every time i eat here i get something different and it's all good. The staff always be nice to me. I feel like a person not just another customer. Service was good, but the food was not!! Cost over $31 for 3 chicken fried chicken meals, only to get home to find out that the food was so salty that it was not edible. The tea was like sugar water, a very disappointing dinner. The dinners went in the garbage, and I will not be returning to spend my money there. read more
