If you would have told me you were gonna put SQUASH on my pizza I would have told you to gtf... ya know. My husband and I FINALLY made the trek out to Nomad after hearing about this place for weeks. First I want to start with saying that the food was good, but I am going to get nit-picky so that anyone reading can have accurate information and make their own decisions on this place. This place is fast casual meaning that you order your food and then sit down. I want to get a gut check on this because I found it odd that they ask for a tip (which in my mind is a tip for services rendered) but they don't provide a waiter, you grab your own water, silverware, and accompaniments, and seat yourself, and bus your own table once finished eating. Additionally, Im pre paying a tip before my food and services even have a chance to prove themselves? Something just isn't adding up. Someone please write me if I'm somehow confused on this topic. I asked the worker what he would order as "must haves" if it was our first time here. He highly recommended the chicken sandwich and the pistachi - ohh pizza. We upgraded our meal to poutine fries and had 2 drinks as well. Our bill with "tip" ended up being $60.00 + which again...I feel is extremely high for a fast-casual place and atmosphere. The chicken sandwich was good. Better than pretty bird?....... definitely not. You really need to switch up your bun as many other reviewers have mentioned as well. It's not doing the sandwich justice and is the wrong vessel for such a good piece of chicken. The pistachio pizza was also good. Crust was crispy and cooked well. We both felt it lacked a depth of flavor however and ended up drowning the pizza in chile oil, balsamic, and crushed red pepper. The poutine fries again were....good. I'm not sure about you but when I order poutine, I expect cheese curds. Instead, these fries simply had melted cheese to take it's place which I felt was a cop out. All in all, I'm giving a 4 because I think the food was tasty, atmosphere was nice, and staff was courteous, but with some slight alterations could be a home run. read more

This place is great! They make really yummy pizza. It has thin crust that is perfectly crispy around the edges and cooked through to the center. We ordered iced tea with lemon and they came out in a mason jars, freshly and I'm guessing individually brewed. It was a nice and unique touch. My friend ordered a salad and we both finished our meals. It was during lunch and the air quality was good so we sat outside. This is a great place for a quick bite to eat. Everything seems fresh and the atmosphere is very welcoming. There is no table service, you order at the counter and they bring you your food. The selection is not huge but from my point of view that's a good thing. Everything is made fresh including things like the farmers cheese and pickled beets, which I ordered and were fantastic. I also got the White BBQ chicken wings which were really good but next time I'll get them naked with sauce on the side. My buddy got the buffalo wings and they were a little over the top with heat. If you like "hot" wings then those are for you, me, not so much. All in all I'll definitely be back. They have some great healthy choices and the food is as fresh as can be. read more

Here's a quick TLDR. This place looks great, awesome service and the good is absolutely delicious So I had just gotten off a plane from the airport and found this place through Yelp. Got here 10 minutes before they opened and they were kind enough to open a few minutes early for me. Afterwards I ordered the Turkey Club, which was absolutely amazing. I don't typically order sandwiches because I feel like they taste average and not worth the cost. That was not the case with this sandwich. They have a small bar and lounging area where you can watch tv as well as the self seating area to dine. Peaked into the kitchen and it looked clean... always a plus. Cool vibe and atmosphere for a casual night with friends. The decorations are trendy and well appointed with both communal tables and some private tables. The atmosphere here is very chill (order and pay at the counter and they bring it out to you) The menu follows suit with handhelds (sandwiches and burgers) and pizzas. I got the hangover pizza which looked great ingredient wise but the crust didn't hold up to all the toppings. (Soggy pizzas make me sad.) My friend got the hot chicken sandwich which she inhaled (always a good sign) and a couple of others ordered the burger which they thought was pretty good. We also ordered some poutine, which can't be bad... so give that a whirl. But the one thing that sticks in my mind was there homemade salt and vinegar chips- they were AMAZE. The service was friendly and helpful with recommendations. We got the wedge salad. All the ingredients were fresh, the blue cheese was strong but not over powering. This place tries really hard, I'll give it that. The space inside is sort of modern/urban/trendy/kitschy, which is more or less the kind of place I would seek if I were staying at a hotel, so the wisdom of them putting it next to hotels is strong. This place has a bar, communal seating, non-communal setting and a very large tv screen. This suggests a decided lack of identity. It also gets incredibly noisy inside. However, whatever else, the food also has to deliver and despite this being one of the current darlings, it didn't quite live up to that for me. The olive bowl was probably the highlight for me, though that could have used a touch more of the crushed salt on it. I went with the Spicy Chicken, because that's the thing I've heard the most noise about. I would have put it at so-so, until I deconstructed it and re-assembled it, at which point it became much, much better. It never quite actually reached spicy, however. House made chips are fine, but the vinegar touch seemed excessive. This place kind of reminds me of the dude trying to impress a girl and throws tons and tons of effort at it, to the point where simply watching him, let alone experiencing it, is uncomfortable. This place is that dude, constantly struggling, when a bit of restraint would be welcome and probably more effective. I realize they're new and may stop back in a few months down the road, but for now, this place, while new darling enough to be busy now, needs to work out some jitters, in my view. Overall, solid, despite their incessant obsession with onions, but not spectacular. read more

You know a meal is good when you are continually talking about it weeks after it occurred. This has been the case with our experience at Nomad eatery. As a disclaimer, I eat out frequently, so I wouldn't consider myself a newbie at this. I don't say this in anyway to boast but to let you know that this review comes from experience + it comes from the heart. I can honestly say that this was one of the better experiences I have had at a restaurant in a very long time. From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left, we were treated like Kings, and the food was remarkable. For food we had the children of the corn pizza, and the fish tacos. Both were excellent. The pizza was full of flavor and was quite unique. Certainly not something you see everyday. Also, for all of you who dislike corn on pizza, trust me on this one. It's worth it. The service was truly phenomenal. If every restaurant treated their guests like nomad did, they would be in great shape. To start one of the waiters stated that there was a big order in front of us and that we would have to wait for a minute longer. He offered to bring us an appetizer while we waited!! How awesome. We were staying near the airport and wanted to get a quick bite to eat. Based on all the reviews, we gave it shot, The service was great and the staff were friendly. You order when you arrive and it was busy but it moved quickly. We decided to try the Kobe Tacos and co worker order the burger and loaded fries. All were cooked to our requests and delicious. My tacos had a great flavor to them and you received three of them. They were perfect in size for a lunch item and hit the spot. Since we were hitting the trade did not have an opportunity to order a drink...which they had a few good choices. We ate here over last weekend and you guys, IT IS SOOOOOOO GOOD!!! Thom had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and he couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was. He NEVER says this, but he probably said 20 times "This is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life." I could swear I saw a tear roll down his cheek at the last bite! I had the Double Burger and it was delicious. The salt and vinegar chips on it surprised me, I wasn't expecting them!! The french fries are freshly made and fantastic. We loved the entire aesthetic here, it is such a cool place. They have super friendly employees who checked on us often. I love how proud they are of their restaurant, and they should be!! It's kind of out of the way I guess, BUT SO WORTH IT. I can't neglect sharing the HOMEMADE CHOCO TACO we had for dessert at Nomad Eatery (and by we I mean me, Kathee, because I'm pretty sure I would have snarled at my husband if he even looked at this awesomeness ). Wow! What a delightful surprise Nomad was. We needed a dog-friendly patio for our pups while traveling through SLC. Assumed we'd have typical bar food, but Holy Smokes! Nomad was bar food elevated! Falafel salad was out of this world. You could taste every flavor. The carnitas tacos were some of the best tacos we've had. The burgers and sandwiches stand about six inches high and they scored with the buns - which made them even more delicious - if that's possible. Tangy and savory handmade chips.
