Great customer service experience and a great pizza. I had to try this location in the District. I'm so glad I did. The place was packed but it should be since it's Saturday. I'd be worried if it wasn't. I got my pizza and Caesar salad to go. At checkout there is a big container of fresh squeezed lemonade. When I got home I had a feast! Well, a couple slices were eaten in my car but the rest made it home. The Caesar dressing was interesting as it had basil incorporated. Very fresh and delicious. First time I'd ever had basil in my Caesar salad dressing, have you? If not it's a must try. My first time trying this pizzeria and I loved it! They have excellent customer service and the pizzas and drinks were amazing too. The Viola pizza is their best seller, and I can see why. It's a unique combination of prosciutto, blackberries, basil, and mozzarella cheese that gives a delightful balance of sweet and savory, and a clean taste from the fresh basil. I highly recommend you get out of your comfort zone and try something new. Yes, blackberries on pizza! It's delish! The red sauce on the pizza was great, and so was the crust! The food was legit cold when it got here... no idea which delivery service he used... but I bring it up to say it was still amazing microwaved! I saw rave reviews for both the pera and viola and couldn't decide so we got both. If you're stuck and can only get one... I think viola wins. The prosciutto with the blackberries? Wow. I've visited this location on more than one occasion and you'd think I'd have learned to make better choices in life by this point. They are so so so so so so so sooooo slow. Waiting in line to order my pizza was slow. Paying for my pizza was slow. Getting my pizza was so slow I'm 95% sure they burned it and had to re-make it and then didn't tell me that so they wouldn't "need" to offer me any thing to make up for it. And when they brought my pizza to my table it wasn't made right, despite paying extra $$ for extra toppings, but when its so slow you think lunch time must now be dinner time you just take the pizza (still good because...its pizza?) and vow to write a Yelp review to help other consumers make better choices than you did this time. This place is on about 40% of the time. When they are they're great, but I have finally learned my lesson to go somewhere else. I'm going to pay $10+ for a personal pizza that I get home only to find a meagerly topped pizzas with limited sauce. They truly never let you down here. It's not upscale , but it's more than enough. The prices are moderate, there's more than enough seats if you'd like to bring a group. The pizza is made right there in front of you, and the wait is never long for you. My classic go to here is the caprese pizza and the crosta formaggi, and that's enough to keep me full for a meal. We ordered pizzas to go, they gave us our boxes when we left. Upon getting home, we realized the box was empty. I went back to the store and the first girl to greet me, when I told her what happened, said I don't speak English. Then they gave me the pizza and didn't offer to do anything for me. The store just has awful customer service people who don't care about their jobs or customers. Apparently they don't have people that speak English as well, so good luck getting pizza. Ordered a pizza with Pepperoni - paid with tip. Pizza came with no pepperoni. Had to pay extra for the add on. I also asked for a drink. Paid for it. Went to add sweet tea and lemonade (Arnold Palmer). Realized lemonade was extra but I already paid for a drink so I was told I needed to pay extra for a lemonade and throw out my cup that already had half sweet tea. Ended up swapping drinks and paying extra for a lemonade and throwing out the original cup. I drank half of the lemonade then just went and filled it with sweet tea. This is different than the average American pizza place. I would say their pizza is a little more Italian style with a thinner crust. I love the quality of ingredients! The Pera and the Caprese are both awesome and definitely my fave, though I have yet to try their Limone. TheBuongiorno is another fun one. Love their Italiana salad, but was surprisingly disappointed in the Tre Sorelle, which a lot of other people really like. My kids love the Formaggi. I wasn't impressed by the Margherita, Viola or the Verdure. They keep the place clean and all the staff have been friendly. Ok, we've been here multiple times over the past 4 years. Like A LOT! This is the first time we've been and I've been underwhelmed. First, I like to order their featured item. Usually they are great. Placed on order at 18.45h and the pizzas were delivered at 20h... Stonecold of course. We ordered online for delivery because we didn't want to go out after just having a shower and the ladies who delivered the food came to the wrong side of the premises. Not their fault, it's not all that clear, but after I texted back that we're living on the other side of the parking lot, I got dressed and walked over to where they had parked their car as they weren't moving from their spot... They were friendly and they apologized, but I do regret the lack of customer service. It would have been easier for them to just drive the few meters to come to the right entrance.
