The Sicilian Pizza was so good. The sauce taste like fresh picked tomatoes . I went in for a slice of spinach pizza but rather than have someone throw a few pieces of spinach on a pizza, I got a spinach pinwheel which was absolutely scrumptious as was the pizza. Favorite dishes are the Pompeii salad and the penne Sofia: super fresh and tasty, every time! Since 2011 Nonna's was my go-to place for pizza and Italian dishes. In the past 12 months the quality has dipped considerably to the point that we won't be returning. Our Pizza was not only not hot, it was barely warm, the panini didn't have anything to it and the fries were cold and wet. the combination hero had a lot of meat on it, but it also had a piece of plastic inside it that appeared to be part of a kitchen glove or clear plastic in it. This truly is the best pizza you'll find in Morris County. Sicilian-style thin crust pizza with the perfect sauce to cheese ratio. As soon as you sit down they serve you with a bread basket along with some bruschetta. The meatlovers pizza was delicious, and heavy on the meat (sausage, meatballs, ham, pepperoni and salami). The entrees and appetizers also look incredible and I can't wait to get a chance to try them next time I come in. The place is always packed and filled with life. I am an original customer of Nonna's going back many years. The original owners were absolute perfectionists who took the time to acknowledge the regulars, even during the most insane busiest nights [FRI & SAT]. And the food was always consistently excellent. Their red sauce was legendarily great. But the new management either must not understand the restaurant business, or just not care, since the food now is terrible. The red sauce [if you can call it that] has an unpleasant odd taste that makes it virtually inedible. And never order the Shrimp Parm dinner, unless you like the taste of copy machine paper. Not very happy with Nonna's today. I work on Hanover Road, so we tend to order from here often. I order a Venician panini and it literally had one piece of Prosciutto on it! Really good pizza but my favorite is the Margarita 1st and gramdma 2nd, best around the area for sure. Personally like of all their food specifically their pasta dishes however the fried calamari has been a disappointment both times I've tried it and for that reason I won't try it again. read more

Disturbing. Sister & brother in law picked up a takeout order yesterday, brought it home (local), then received a call from Nonna's telling them they had given them the wrong order by mistake and to bring it back to the restaurant, which they did and then was given their correct order after having to wait to pay for the difference between the two orders. How does a restaurant get away with this way of operating during Covid? Not exactly what I would call safe. Most, if not all, restaurants would have told them to keep it, then delivered them the correct meal, instead of making them come back, AND make them pay the difference in their meal cost. Not exactly good customer service, and certainly not what I would call safe food handling during this time of Covid. Won't be ordering from here again. read more

Holy Pizza!! I have been here a few times and the pizza is awesome! Not only do they have a wide variety of types of slice pies, but they also have a lot of entree choices from chicken, beef, eggplant, and pastas! There is a delicious salad with roasted pears and balsamic dressing. The wait staff is incredibly pleasant and the guys in the front who do the pizza and slices are really friendly and polite! I've heard rumors for quite some time that there was an awesome pizza place in Florham Park, but being the skeptic I shied away. Stupid, Stupid me. Had to drop my daughter off at a friend's house so my wife convinced my son and I to finally try Nonna's since we were in the area. "Ok" I said, even though I think the owner of our normal pizza joint felt a little twitch-like something was wrong in the universe. Anyway, we walk in the door and it's simply contained mayhem-there must have been 30 people waiting just inside the door either picking up or ordering take-out. The dining area was also packed - every single table packed with people smiling and eating pizza and Italian goodness...Why did we do this on a Friday night? We put in our name and were told 15-20 minutes...it was about 25, but here's a secret - it's worth the wait. While waiting I took a stroll through the dining area to see what looked good...and it ALL looked good-appetizers, salads, soups, pizza, entrees - it ALL looked great. When we got to our booth, my wife pulled out a bottle of wine (yep, BYOB) and after a quick review of the menu we placed our order. My son kept it simple - a Sicilian slice and a slice of penne vodka pizza. I was allowed a small bite of each and we agreed that while the Sicilian was delicious (tasty sauce that wasn't too overwhelming or too sweet and the right amount of cheese) we did like our normal pizza place a little better - mostly because the Sicilian was a little thin here at Nonna's and not as crispy. The Penne slice however...a far superior taste-read why below. My wife ordered Penne Vodka with chicken...Let's just say this - the vodka sauce here...could be the best vodka sauce I've had anywhere...and I've eaten my fair share of vodka sauce all over the country and this was excellent. Thicker than most places I've had it (they CLEARLY use more cream) it had a taste that made me want to not leave a single drop on the plate. And my meal?? I almost don't want to tell you because it was so good! I ordered Nonna's Sunday Gravy - a huge portion of penne in their homemade sauce with two meatballs, a sweet Italian sausage and pork braciole (absolutely the last thing you want to order if you are dieting-portion size gets thrown out the window with this meal). After tasting the sauce, the meatball and the braciole, I was almost unwilling to give my wife and son a taste...because when something is this good you don't need a second opinion. Now I will say that the texture of the meatball seemed a little odd, but I think it was because they grind the meat up pretty fine...no matter, I got past it quickly because they TASTED delicious. And the braciole??? TO.DIE.FOR. Enough said. Yeah, I cheated on my regular pizza place, and Nonna's isn't close enough to me to become my go-to place, but I WILL be back here (maybe not on a Friday night) because there are so many other items I want to try. Now, let's hope I can keep this a secret from my regular pizza guy. If you haven't been to Nonna's and you live in the area...YOU ARE MISSING OUT! read more

What a find! Although it appears the secret is out as we showed up early @6pm to people already waiting for a table! Luckily they gave us glasses & we opened our wine as my friend & I couldn't wait 20 minutes! This is a pizza place with a very nice attached large dining room that churns out pizza & delicious italian food for a good value - fresh seafood & the veal was able to be cut w/a fork! This is a crazy busy local italian restaurant which is jam packed by 5:30pm on weekdays. Now, I understand why. It's an awesome byob that gives a great bang for the buck. Upon being seated, we had complimentary bruschetta and bread dropped off at the table. Next, we ordered 3 chicken entrées. Included with the meals was a nice green salad to start. Chicken dishes were the saltimboca, francese, and savoy. All were generous portions served with potatoes, mixed zucchini and squash. Service was very attentive and the waitstaff was great. Came here for lunch with a bunch of colleagues, and they had set up a large row of tables for us in the back. Upon entering, we were greeted by the pie makers with lots of energy, but the hostess was not on par. From what I saw on display, the pizza selection looked like any other pizza place. The dining area in the back was large and clean, with some tables up in front by the windows as well. As soon as we got the majority of the people there, we ordered. The menu was standard Italian faire with a specials tags. After we ordered, the food took so long to come out. A couple people ordered panninis and pastas; it doesn't take much time to slide a pannini in a toaster and drop some pre-cooked pasta into boiling water! The one guy who got his food first was his calzone; obviously it was up front. We must have waited 20+ minutes for our food. The calzone guy was even waiting for us; I felt bad and told him to start first. Anyway, I got the Farfalle with sausage and broccoli rabe with garlic and olive oil. This came with a side salad with a standard Italian style dressing that seemed to be not homemade. The pasta portion is large but finishable for lunch. The pasta and broccoli was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, and the garlic was not overpowering. As we left, we were sent off with a high energy goodbye from the pizza makers, but not the hostess! This is a solid pizza joint. I used to work close by and we would often snag a few pies for "Pizza Friday." The guys who work there are no-nonsense down to earth pizza cranking out machines, and they always took care of us. The way to do is with what's called the "Grandmas" pizza, which is like a plain cheese pizza but so much better with a medium to thin crust, chunky but light tomato sauce and topped with cheese. They cut the slices into squares unlike the other pies they churn out, and you get 12 squares per pie ($1.50/slice when splitting the cost with your colleagues). Long story short, my description doesn't do it justice, so just trust me and order it. I also like to mix it up with their pepperoni pizza once in a while as it contrasts really well with the grandmas. The other pizza combos are more heavily topped and I usually steer away from them as they are less unique and harder to eat without losing your toppings. I ordered the prosciutto and fresh mozzarella hero. I asked to get half at the table and for them to wrap half because I wasn't that hungry. In a state like New Jersey where Italian places are known for sandwiches with the meat piled high, this was a real disappointment. There were one or two very thin slices of meat on this sandwich - it was mostly arugula with a fair amount of mozzarella. I think if I had taken a plain slice of bread, clicked my heels together three times and said "Prosciutto", I would have had more prosciutto than what they gave me. I told the waitress I was disappointed, she said she told the owner, but I guess the owner didn't care a whole lot because she didn't say he gave any response, she just said she "told the owner". That's too bad because they could have made things right by putting a little extra meat on the half that was wrapped. For over a year I've been taking someone there for outings at least once a month sometimes more, and this is how they treat loyal customers. read more
