If a customer makes an unusual request. You don't have to agree. You can just say "Sorry, no." But if you politely agree to the request, then you should honor it. If you don't, and the customer complains, you shouldn't be surprised and respond with rude, sarcastic comments. We placed a large takeout order. My nephew requested that his square pizza slices not be "corner or edge pieces" because he doesn't like the crusts. I fully realize this is an unusual request for a busy restaurant during the post-Covid rush. But I politely asked if they could make it happen. The person taking the order by phone agreed. "No crusts, middle pieces only, got it!" she repeated back. It was a busy night. The food took twice as long as promised. So when we got home and saw they had given us only corner pieces, we weren't happy. I called the manager. He was rude and dismissive. "It still tastes the same, doesn't it? You can just cut the crusts off." He then explained that he doesn't allow his own kids be picky like that. I didn't call for a snarky lesson in child-rearing, I called because I am the customer, I politely made a reasonable special request, they politely promised to honor it, and they failed to do so. This is my favorite Italian spot. It's very casual, comfortable, friendly, and is a great spot to catch up with old friends. It's so easy to pop in an have a giant meal. I love their pastas and devour it all! Tastes homemade and full of flavor. It's definitely not the most fancy/uppity, but it's affordable and tasty and easy. Came here for lunch with a bunch of colleagues, and they had set up a large row of tables for us in the back. Upon entering, we were greeted by the pie makers with lots of energy, but the hostess was not on par. From what I saw on display, the pizza selection looked like any other pizza place. The dining area in the back was large and clean, with some tables up in front by the windows as well. As soon as we got the majority of the people there, we ordered. The menu was standard Italian faire with a specials tags. After we ordered, the food took so long to come out. A couple people ordered panninis and pastas; it doesn't take much time to slide a pannini in a toaster and drop some pre-cooked pasta into boiling water! The one guy who got his food first was his calzone; obviously it was up front. We must have waited 20+ minutes for our food. The calzone guy was even waiting for us; I felt bad and told him to start first. Anyway, I got the Farfalle with sausage and broccoli rabe with garlic and olive oil. This came with a side salad with a standard Italian style dressing that seemed to be not homemade. The pasta portion is large but finishable for lunch. The pasta and broccoli was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, and the garlic was not overpowering. As we left, we were sent off with a high energy goodbye from the pizza makers, but not the hostess! Nonna's is a great find. I pass through that neighborhood on long drives reasonably often and have stopped at nearby restaurants for lunch or dinner a number of times... On my most recent trip, my intended destination wound up being closed and I stumbled upon Nonna's. I plan to be back. If I could give out a "best value" award to restaurants, Nonna's would definitely be in the running. The food is excellent, made with good ingredients and prepared nicely. They use quality cheese that tastes fresh and isn't at all greasy, their tomato sauce is delicious, their greens are fresh and crisp. Among a pizza, a stromboli, a caesar salad, a club sandwich and an order of meatballs, everything turned out great. And the portion sizes are generous, too! The service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was nice. For a nice summer night, the outdoor seating area was perfect: it's nicely arranged, and while the parking lot is on one side, the other side has a pleasant view off the side of the mountain. The inside looked pretty nice, too... Not highly decorated, but it was clean and was adorned in a way that makes it feel like a feel like you're in a decent restaurant. And, since I often judge restaurants by the cleanliness of their bathrooms, I'll note that Nonna's scores points there, too. And the prices were very reasonable. For less than $9, you can get a delicious, large meal. I don't know when I last found a place that had the quality of food and service that Nonna's offers in a pleasantly appointed environment at their prices. read more

You can't get a decent veal parm hero back where I live now in the SF Bay Area (veal is not commonly on menus) and w all the solid reviews on Yelp I figured this was a slam dunk. Sadly not so much. The pizzas looked fine coming outta the oven and the guy calling the shots behind the take out and pizza counter was old school for sure - but the Sammie I got was nothing to write home about. Little pieces of what was supposed to be veal in a bland red sauce and way too much melted rubbery mozzarella. It needed help. Sorry I took it out I could have saved it w a few shakes of oregano, chili flakes and salt. Meh. I've had better. I came to this place a couple times when I used to doordash never had time to stop but always told myself I would try it one day. Today was that lol I no longer dash and I do not live near it had to order on uber eats because it's like 35 mins away. I agree it is pricey but was very surprised my food arrived hot not because of the restraunt but because it's a distance from my home. The pizza is great and so is the pasta. I ordered a grandma pie and a Bianca I added pepperoni. Also shrimp scampi and penn vodka with chicken. I don't mind pricy everything has gone up as long as it tastes good. The location is in a strip mall you wouldn't expect much if you we're in the parking lot but once inside it's cozy and welcoming no one was ever rude when I did deliveries and no one was ever rude when I ordered for delivery they listened to my notes and called me when they needed to charge more again I had no issue with this. read more

This is a solid pizza joint. I used to work close by and we would often snag a few pies for "Pizza Friday." The guys who work there are no-nonsense down to earth pizza cranking out machines, and they always took care of us. The way to do is with what's called the "Grandmas" pizza, which is like a plain cheese pizza but so much better with a medium to thin crust, chunky but light tomato sauce and topped with cheese. They cut the slices into squares unlike the other pies they churn out, and you get 12 squares per pie ($1.50/slice when splitting the cost with your colleagues). Long story short, my description doesn't do it justice, so just trust me and order it. I also like to mix it up with their pepperoni pizza once in a while as it contrasts really well with the grandmas. The other pizza combos are more heavily topped and I usually steer away from them as they are less unique and harder to eat without losing your toppings. I have been going here since moving to Florham Park in May of 2021. Last night I ordered a special veal dish and their Caesar Salad. Food tonight was bad, The salad which usually was excellent was just iceberg lettuce with a container of dressing, not the excellent salad they usually serve. I just picked up my cold pizza. On a Friday night I expect to wait BUT....this was pandemonium! One line to both order and pick up. No dedicated person at the register to take care of the ever increasing line. Confused patron's jumping ahead in the unsupervised line creating turmoil. Guy's behind the counter scrambling over each other between taking food orders and getting food out of the ovens. Half the time no one was at the register. Not only do they NOT tell the truth about there extended delivery times, last time I ordered, after waiting an hour and fifteen minutes, when i went to the door to grab my food the bag felt light, after opening it, I found out of the three items i ordered was MISSING. I told the driver to wait and called the restaurant, i got a guy named JARRET on the phone, after telling him what happened he offered NO APOLOGY, but instead told me he would deliver the item when the next driver returned. He said we usually take 45 minutes to deliver but he would see what he could do to get it to get it to me sooner. I told him to keep the item and credit my charge. He refused to do this. A half hour later the missing item showed up. So now Im up to 2 hours. (45 minutes, REALLY!!!) I was hesitant to try write this review, however THIS WAS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. This was actually the third time i had an issue. One time it took so long they gave me the food for free. To sum it up, if you are hungry, BEWARE/DO NOT ORDER FOOD TO BE DELIVERED. Pizza is a huge need in my life and there are TONS of decent places to get it around town... but Nonnas is HANDS DOWN my favorite spot in the area!! I have my best friend to thank for referring me here after I moved to Morristown as she orders from them often for lunch. We usually get the house special pie, which is basically a supreme pizza on steroids... SOO AMAZINGLY GOOD. It's a must try. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are, and I especially love their mushrooms and white onions. Their grandma/"Nonnas" pie is also a popular choice, with their rich tomato sauce making it just as flavorful. A more recent discovery for us is their buffalo chicken wings. We first gave it a try while dining in with friends for lunch earlier this month. Had a slice of grandma's as appetizer. Tomatoes were so bland. The pizza was bland something i'd avoid. I had the mussels appetizer and the sauce was so bad. I had to order a side of marinara. Truly tasteless marinara. Tomatoes are very acidic, lack of good olive oil or basil. And the watery wine made this one of worst mussels i've ever had. I should have left then. I am in town for a few months and was referred to this place by a few Italian and Sicilian co-workers as a place where you can have fresh, homemade, authentic Italian food. I haven't sprung for the pizza yet, but based off of the formal dining experience, I'm sure I will sometime soon. We had Calamari and Garlic bread as appetizers...and it was hands down the best Calamari I've ever had in my life (and I don't say that lightly). The breading was just perfect, it was cooked for just the perfect amount of time, and it was a very large portion size for the price. Definitely an A+ on the appetizers. Not to mention the complimentary Bruschetta adds a nice touch to the dining experience. For the main course, I had Chicken Parmigiana and my friend had Veal Parmigiana. It was amazing, just the right amount of mozzarella and not over sauced. I enjoyed the food so much, even with the huge portions, we cleaned house. Not impressed at all! I went there with my father, brother and boyfriend. We walked in and waited to be seated. The waitress that was there asked if we wanted a booth or table? We said a table. She told us to just sit anywhere. So, we went to a table that seated 6. We wanted some room since there were 3 guys in our party. The waitress got real nasty and said what it's just 4 of you?? My brother and I said we could go to a different table ( there was hardly anyone in the restaurant). She said no don't bother. And walked away. I made a remark that I would be leaving the tip! I guess she got another waitress to wait on us since she didn't want her tip as a reflect of her crappy attitude! Our waitress we wound up with was nice. I was relieved that she wasn't our waitress, she probably would have spit on the food with her attitude. We ordered a mushroom and black olive pizza. I didn't enjoy it at all. I enjoy eating Nonna's pizza because my daughter loves their cheese pizza but their service is terrible.. It always seems like they're short staffed and one of the waitresses is pretty rude. unbelievable waitress acts as if she's doing you a favor and she's miserable. they do a hell of a business but will not get one more dime from me. l could only imagine she is a relative of the owner. maybe it was one of those prank shows or something. My salad had one single olive in it..thought I had irritable bowel syndrome after the escarole and bean soup. Pizza was your typical jersey pizza nothing special. The CHICKEN in the CHICKEN PARMESAN SUBS OR DINNERS IS CONSISTENTLY AWFUL. In the hopes that my initial order was just an off night for the Chef I've ordered some version of it ~ 10 times. Each time I've been disappointed.... small pieces, over cooked, very chewy ('not pounded' which I've seen at other Restaurants) to make the chicken more tender. I really enjoy Nonas.
