Every time I have a day off, I know exactly where I'm going for lunch, this place has quickly become my favorite pizza restaurant. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and it just has a cozy environment. I've tried to make it a point for myself to try out the many different restaurants in West Reading, but I keep getting distracted, as I just keep wanting to go back to Nonno Alby's. Excellent, excellent restaurant. The one word I will stress when it comes to Nonno Alby's is CONSISTENCY. My girlfriend and I eat here at least once a week, and the quality, presentation and taste of Nonno Alby's food never wavers. The restaurant is BYOB (UPDATE: beer and wine are now on tap, no longer BYOB). You can pick up cold craft beers two doors down at The Barley Mow, or a block away in the other direction at The West Reading Tavern. The former has a larger selection but both stock good beer. This is simple, wood-fired pizza. Toppings are top quality and used somewhat sparingly, but to great effect. There are currently 17 different pizzas offered on the menu, each in the $10 to $13 range. You can also add toppings to create your own, but this tends to get pricey. The pizzas are billed as personal sized, but we find a shared appetizer and a pizza (and dessert!) usually fits the bill. They also have a smaller but equally excellent selection of burgers, ranging from black angus beef with smoked provolone and smoked bacon, to bison and buffalo burger offerings. Recently, in what I imagine is a nod to the nearby Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza franchise in nearby Wyomissing, Nonno Alby's added wood-fired chicken wings to the menu. TRY THEM. They are excellent. Appetizers include a grilled eggplant dish (our favorite), tilapia bruchetta, and a variety of salads. They also have a nice rotating dessert menu, and espresso. Nonno Alby's has a great staff! The waitresses are always friendly, chatty, and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant is a bit small, but if there's a wait it's generally not a long one. They also have outdoor seating over the summer. You can't go wrong with this place. They do what they do extremely well. We will continue to be regulars at Nonno Alby's, and encourage you to do the same! read more

It's a very unassuming place from the outside, looks more like a bar than a pizzeria. You walk in and see abstract art, checkered table cloth and a large oven in the back and you know what you're in for! We ordered one margarita and one tuna with red onions - it was called the Tonne something, I can't remember ( I know it sounds gross but I enjoyed it). I've never been to a high-end pizzeria so I really can't measure the quality of ingredients used. Everything came out in 15 minutes! Margarita garnished with basil and the Tonne came with thin slices of tuna! Fresh, friendly service and good music! I don't sea a reason to give them less than 5 stars. read more

Over rated. The pizzia is dedigned for hipstersThin crisp crust, suace is not anything special. Service is nice, but when we ordered the wings we askef for 2 different suaces. We were told no this can't be done unless we order 2 - one half orders. When the wings were brought out it can with 2 servings of the same suace, petty dumb. I am fron NYC, where the best pizxa is made IMHO, like st marks or rays on bway and 12th. This is not pizza, but saltines with chese and some sauce. The best wings that I have ever had (oven cooked to perfection and the home made buffalo sauce was perfect). Everything about the pizza was perfection! The quality of the cheese, the slight crisp of the dough, the fresh ingredients you can taste. Crab cake was super good and not bready. The sweet potato fries are the best I have ever had. Went here on a Sunday evening with my wife and daughter. We shared two pizzas. Their pizzas are personal size but with a salad one pizza could serve 2 people. They are tossing the crust in the open kitchen and the ingredients are all very fresh and taste high end. But the prices are super fair. They also have a really nice selection of beer (4-6 on tap) and they were showing NFL Sunday Ticket on the two televisions in the dining room. The server was friendly and attentive.
