    Tori tantan ramen
    Andrew T.

The service here is great and the workers are friendly. This place is modern, clean and has a decent amount of seating. There's an upstairs and downstairs floor. I recommend making reservations. The tori tantan ramen was flavorful and had a strong nutty flavor. The skewers were delicious, especially the short rib. The cod roe cream udon was really saucy and enjoyable. The Suishingen tasted light and wasn't too sweet. Definitely would come back here.

Honestly more of a 2.5 if I'm being frank so this is me being generous. It's usually a wait with no resy but that's fine. The last time we were here prob 6 months ago, food and service was p good. But this time...things went downhill. The cod roe pasta was bland and nothing outstanding. The skewers were fine but took forever to come out. In fact, our food came so slow that 2 different servers including our own assigned waitress asked if they could clear our table and one time she took away all our utensils and napkins before learning from us that we are stil missing 3 items! Crazy...I have no words but other than I kmow you're busy but please find a way to fix this service. Lastly we tried to order dessert. We asked for a regular hokkaido milk soft serve and within 5 min asked to change to matcha parfait (which uses hokkaido milk soft serve as a base). Server said too late. They make it v fast but lol the dessert took some time to come out so I suspect they def could've changed it. Would NOT be coming back in a while! The icecream was tasty though - best part of the meal!

Super dope Japanese ambience. They have the yakitori grills out in the front which is cool to see. Stellar pricing for the quality of food. Great place to bring friends for a family style feast. Drinks A+. Get the salmon tataki, zuke maguro, kinoko, sukiyaki udon, and chicken oyster.

it was good! The ambience was really nice. It's great for brunch or a quick lunch. The seafood is fresh and the chicken wasn't dry at all. I also got the tuna pickle roll (not pictured here) that was probably one of my favorites.

    Sashimi Teishoku 29

This was a somewhat casual Japanese restaurant, a stone's throw away from the chaos of Herald Square. We popped in for lunch. It's a two floor joint but the most scenic seating is on the bottom level. For mains, we ordered the Cod Cream Ramen and the Sashimi Teishoku. The Cod Cream Ramen is the dish that keeps me from giving this place five stars. It was texturally great with heavy cream galore but did not have the punch from similar versions of this I've had in the past. The Sashimi Teishoku was truly a five star dish. The fish quality was MUCH higher than expected. For dessert, our only choice was the Suishingen, a "rain drop pudding served with soy bean powder and brown sugar sauce." Sometimes less choice is better. The look was unique. It was firmer compared to something like jello and the brown sugar sauce and soy bean powder made for a familiar yet welcome Asian flavor. Service was appropriate to the casual nature of the restaurant. Would I come here again? if I was in neighborhood, absolutely.

Service was very good when we were there for dinner, but we made a reservation for 6:30 and were not told there's a time limit at any time, until when we tried to order a second round of drinks and food. It was then we were told there's another reservation for our table in 40 minutes so we would have to finish and pack and go within that time frame. It messed up our plans and we ended up not being able to order desserts.

Nono NYC seriously exceeded expectations. The sushi was SO fresh and flavorful, and the ramen broth was rich without being too heavy. Everything tasted high quality and made with care. The staff was super sweet and attentive, and the whole restaurant had such a cozy vibe. Perfect spot for a casual dinner that still feels special. Already craving the ramen again

A solid place! Came here on a Friday evening with family for the very first time. We were seated upstairs towards the back - it was a nice and cosy spot. Ordered a bunch of yakitoris. The chicken ones were very good. The kids loved the DiY hand roll - it was tasty and also fun for them! They had matcha parfait on the menu for dessert. It came with their own home made matcha jellies which was very good. Glad I was able to check out this restaurant after all these years.

In Korean town! Honestly, I don't remember ever being called that back in the days for me kinda was part of the fashion district. Anyway, we planned on going to a restaurant just on that block but while waiting "online" & our turn to get in, we couldn't for it was 3 of us yes that's right! So we walk down to the corner & came across 'nonono'. Didn't disappoint even as we already were from before. Food, service excellent thank you Hein and the ambiance so cool!

Finally affordable yakitori place is here! Love the atmosphere here, it's like izakaya but fancy. The service was amazing and food is delicious! Definitely recommend!

A large group of us came here for dinner. We were seated downstairs and there are hooks on the wall to hang up our jackets. The area was a little cold but upstairs was a lot warmer. The bathrooms are also upstairs. There is a lot of seating. Decor was also good! The creamy udon was a bit too creamy/cheesy for my liking. The pumpkin tempera app and eggplant was really good.

Pretty good tan tan noodle around $20.69 after tax.. noodle was very bouncy and the minched pork was very flavorful!! 7/10!!

YesYesYes Without a doubt, this place has some great quality food. No corners are cut to deliver these dishes. I ordered the chicken thigh and the chicken oyster yakitori. Don't bother with the thigh. The chicken oyster just tastes so much more moist. My kid ate two skewers on her own, so we had to order another dish. I also did not think the angus prime kalbi for $17 was worth it. I would have just gotten more chicken oyster. COD CREAM UDON $18 - this was very creamy, but not my favorite. Great for those who like creamy pastas. Sukiyaki Udon $24 - good umami flavor, especially with the runny egg, I would definitely order this again. Yasai Udon (VT) $16 - this one is more of a soup, more mild than the sukyaki udon, but still very flavorful and tasty. PUMPKIN TEMPURA $8 - fried very well I would definitely come back to try their other dishes. Probably would order less. I over-ordered and over-ate at this meal!

Do you offer takeout and/or delivery?

    Yes they do

Trying to make a reservation online and was asked to choose my preferred seating. What is the difference between "indoor dining" and "dining table" - the only two options provided?

Hi, thank you for the inquiry. You can choose "dining table", that's the only option we have at this time.

Will you have new items coming soon?

Their menus look extremely old, so I wouldn't bank on it.

Does this restaurant accept walk-in seating or is it reservation-only?

They accept walk-ins. Probably make a reservation if you don't want to wait though, especially during busy hours.

    Is there outdoor seating?

There has been during COVID and not in the winter.

Are there gluten free options? If so, is there a GF menu?

I don't think there are gluten free options as far as I know. To confirm you'll have to call the restaurant.

Is it open seating at the bar?

    Yes.

    Are there vegetarian options here?

Yes they have vegetarian options available.

Are there a lot of gluten options? Is there a gluten free menu?

There was not a separate GF menu when I went but there were many, many GF options. Careful with the sauces but not a hard issue if you've been around the block before and/or have a knowledgeable server.

What kind of attire should I wear? Can I dress up to go here?

It's a casual joint. If you want to dress up you won't stick out per say. I saw a table of women dressed up for GNO and a table clearly on a date. It's not like dressing up and going to a dive bar. You'll be fine however you dress. Hope that helps.

    When is the happy hour?

Not sure what time it starts but it ends at 7pm

There was nothing on that menu that let us down. We started with two Calpico sodas, which are always a solid choice. My wife had the Omu Soba and loved it. I went with the Tonkatsu Ramen and that dish was everything. Rich, satisfying, the kind of bowl you do not want to end. We also shared the Kalbi, which are Korean short ribs, and they were outstanding. All three of us were on the same page about those. My son added two salmon tacos to the mix. He enjoyed them but said they did not hit quite as hard as his Mew Special Roll, which was clearly the standout of his night. It features raw tuna and what I believe is a combination of salmon and seared salmon on top. Either way, that sear flavor is really good. Worth trying if you get the chance. The space was lively and busy, which gave it a great energy. We ended up at a long communal table with another couple, but it never felt cramped or uncomfortable. There was enough room to breathe and enjoy the meal. My son mentioned his back felt a little tight from the seating, but that was a minor thing in an otherwise great night. Izakaya Mew delivered on every level. Great food, great atmosphere, and a dinner I am already looking forward to repeating

At the time, I thought that seemed fair enough, but looking back, I'm not so sure. For what was left in the bowl, $30 still felt overpriced. The fish slices were cut extremely thin, and there was really only a single layer of fish, so overall it just wasn't very satisfying. That said, there are still quite a few items on the menu that caught my eye and that I'd like to try. I'm going to chalk this one up to ordering the wrong dish rather than writing the place off completely. One thing that did leave a bad impression, though, was the interaction at the end of the meal. The girl who brought our check wasn't exactly rude, but she seemed visibly annoyed when we asked about using Apple Pay but ended up putting the charge on my card and it felt like asking her to bring over the Apple Pay machine was somehow inconveniencing her. She also didn't bother asking whether I wanted my receipt. Maybe none of it was intentional, but her overall demeanor came across that way and left us ending the meal with a bad taste in our mouths.

Half of their menu is vegan-friendly. Spoiler alert: they will open a permanent location in June/July! *Chicken Karaage*** This chicken karaage was TO DIE FOR -- the caramelized sugar lemon on the side took it to a whole new level. The boneless chicken was so tender and juicy with a thin deep-fried batter. The meat was extremely refreshing after squeezing the lemon and dipping in honey mustard sauce. * Handrolls - Salmon Yuzu, Tuna, Yellowtail** Y'all need to order their handrolls! The sashimi piece was thick and long enough to cover the vinegar rice. It would be a pain to pick which handroll I like more. They layered up the flavors of each piece with house sauces, shiso leaf, fried leek, avocado etc. Wish they would add a handroll set in the future. *Pork Cutlet Curry The curry was a blend of shredded meat, mashed potatoes, tomatoes and grapes (yes grapes!). The pork loin cutlets were crispy and not heavily breaded. The meat was a bit dry, yet it was cut in thin slices so it didn't bother me much. I found the multigrain rice even more enjoyable than white rice with its crunchiness. *Matcha Crème Brûlée** WE LOVED THIS. Matcha flavor is strong. The caramelized top and creamy matcha custard complemented really well. Trust me, their crème brûlée is the best dessert to finish off your meal. *Vegan Matcha Cheesecake This cheesecake was homey and light. Matcha flavor was tasteable but not very strong. The raspberry compote added a nice touch to it. I liked the crunchy biscuit layer on the bottom. *Yuzu White Peach Sparkling *Virgin Green Tea Mojito Their Japanese-inspired mocktails were great and not too sweet (very rare for mocktails). Very refreshing to drink along with your meal.

Starting off with the Agedashi Tofu: Three pieces of tofu in tsuyu sauce. Light and crispy, with a savory but not too salty broth. It came with fried enoki mushrooms. Some grated radish would've been a nice touch. Chicken Karaage: This was my personal favorite. The chicken pieces were tender and juicy, while crispy on the outside. The portion came with a decent amount of chicken which was shareable between three. Shoyu Ramen: Not a standout dish, but seeing as it's not specifically a ramen restaurant, it was standard! Not amazing but not bad. Pork Cutlet Curry: As someone who loves Japanese curry, this hit the spot! Warm flavorful curry with crispy tonkatsu. However, I think it would taste better served with fluffy white rice! Also I think it was served with a side of grapes which was seemed odd unless it's a new food trend I'm unaware of. Overall, would definitely come back! They seem to do fried foods well, hopefully they can introduce tempura or a katsu sando would be amazing.

And I never understood this either. We ordered 3 omakases to share amongst 2 people, and then a ton of a la carte dishes to share. Which were such a beautiful compliment to our omakase dishes. We got the "O" which was a 9 course meal with some cooked and raw options. From the a la carte menu, we ordered the chicken karaage, agedashi tofu, hamachi kama, clay pot rice with salmon and roe, sukiyaki noodles, 2 different rolls (tuna and salmon) and of course the uni taster (which were 3 different kinds of sushi from California and 2 from Hokkaido). The agedashi tofu was the worst amongst our group for a weird texture, definitely did not feel like tofu. The best dishes were the uni taster, chicken karraage, and hamachi kama all from the a la carte menu. And from the omakase, definitely the sushi platter (which were 10 pieces of sushi) and the soba noodles were so amazing! The sushi rice here were so delicious!
