Solid place with great food. A little bit on the expensive side, so definitely reserve it for a special night out. The salted egg yolk shrimp was my favorite dish, and I commend them for making lotus root (something I personally don't have a taste for) so delicious!

Cute little shop serving Hangzhou-style cuisine. The decor in here is cool (little period pieces on the walls and cute zodiac chopstick holders, etc.), reminds you of stepping into some of the old-school movie sets. The appetizer of soup dumplings (4) was good, the chili chicken (fried, not that spiced) was just ok. The mains - crispy eggplant was good, a little spicy and crisp outside to soft eggplant inside. The scallion oil noodles lacked enough flavor. Dessert was sesame balls (good), and the guava coconut shaved ice (wish it had more toppings but it was also good!). Service was a little hesitant but present. Some happy hour specials.

Came here for dinner around 6pm and there were plenty of seats. Got the crispy skin chicken and tomato fish stew. The chicken was flavorful although some pieces were a little dry. It came with a sweet chili sauce that had honey mixed in making it a little too viscous. The tomato fish stew was just okay. It was $3 for a bowl of rice ..... unfortunate. The guava coconut shaved ice came out rock solid. It was an experience chipping away at it. The smalls mochis were my favorite part, very colorful and fun to eat. The portion size was huge, was more than two people could handle hahah. Service was lackluster, they did not check on us after serving the food. The inside is clean and warmly lighted. It's not reminiscent of a grandma's home however.

What a vibe! Love everything about this spot from the decor to the service to the food! A+. I also ordered a veg dish and upon noticing they brought me out the eggplant as well and omgggg it's my new favorite. My family loves Chinese food and this is going to the top of our list. Very reasonable price and good portions as well. Can't go wrong here!

Came here for lunch with some friends and we split a bunch of dishes. Everything was very good! -prosperity dumplings were good, but far from the best dumplings I've had -dandan noodles were amazing and I love the chili crisp they added. Good portion of meat too -hong shao rou was alright, the pork was a bit too fatty for my liking but I liked that it came with buns. -Chili pepper chicken was amazing, best dish IMO -kung pao shrimp were so flavorful but I wish they chopped up the shrimp a bit more Overall solid food at a reasonable price. Service was also good. Would recommend!

Overall: 4 stars Elevated Asian restaurant with the classic comfort of Chinese flavors. The restaurant does run at the NYC premium, but the quality of food is quite good. (Braised Pork Belly: B) - Masterful preparation of the pork with perfect layers of alternating fat and meat. The flavors are a bit demure for the dish, but the technique is there. (Black Pepper Beef: B) - Masterfully cooked beef that melts in your mouth tender. Smart utilization of oyster mushrooms prepared like a tofu stir fry thats absorbant yet springy and refreshing. Dish runs pricey for the minimalistic presentation over $40. (Loofah Melon: A) - I enjoy the elevated authenticity of the dish, preparing some difficult ingredients in a tender way while removing all of the unpleasant fibers. The broth is rich in comfort and powers the melon well. (West Lake Potion: B) - Simply delightful cocktail with a fruit-forward acidic palette. Food: +1 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: +1 Menu: +1 Insta/Yelp/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

Grandma's Home was a really enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and the service was great throughout our visit. I wish I could remember the exact name of the dish I ordered, but it was a spicy beef dish that was fantastic, and we also had the vegetable fried rice which was very good as well. We ordered a couple of cocktails too, though the ones I'm seeing online don't look exactly like what we had, so the menu may have changed. The space itself isn't huge, but it's not tiny either. It feels comfortable and relaxed, especially if the restaurant isn't completely full. One thing to be mindful of is that there are quite a few pork options on the menu, and some dishes didn't clearly specify that until we asked while ordering. If you don't eat pork like I do, it's a good idea to double check the ingredients with your server before ordering. In short, I'd definitely return. Good food, friendly service, and a comfortable spot for a meal.

I had a delivery order from this Hangzhou restaurant. I ordered Soy Glazed Crispy Fish, Golden Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp, Chili Pepper Chicken, Confit Duck Fried Rice and Snow Pea Shoots with XO sauce. I am unfamiliar with this style of food, but, apparently, the food leans towards fish in this region of China. I enjoyed the meal. Spicing and preparation were different than other types of Chinese food that I have had. Of course, we know that there are innumerable different provinces in China, and as many styles of food. The stand out for me was the Golden Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp, a soft eggy shrimp mildly cooked jumbo sized juicy goodness. It was very "eggy" and will not appeal to everyone but I liked it. The Chili Pepper Chicken was a fairly standard stir fry with a little heat and not much sauce...tasty and went well with the white rice (an extra $3). The Duck Fried Rice was a little on the dry side...but very flavorful. The Snow Pea Sprouts were delicious, mildly cooked with a lot of flavor. The Soy Glazed Crispy Fish was totally dry but delicious...nice chunks of soy sauce flavored medium sized pieces of juicy fish. In all, I enjoyed this meal. It IS different and maybe will not be appreciated by all Americanized tastes. Be adventurous. I think it's worth a try. Well packed and efficient delivery. Highly recommended.

I went back and ordered takeout. I tried a new side dish and got the oxtail soup... wtf was that? It was 2 tiny pieces of oxtail with a TON of fat all around it sitting in some broth. I was deeply disappointed. I ordered the eggplant and udon again. Eggplant was overcooked but flavor was there. The udon was still pretty tasty. That oxtail soup just made me mad as hell.

The food at Grandma's Home is excellent! There were definitely dishes we enjoyed more than others and for me the stand outs were the crispy fish and the eggplant. What lost the last star for this restaurant was the persimmon mouse (which came out too frozen) and the odd pacing we experienced where we got our apps before drinks. These were pretty minor things considering - the staff is lovely and the atmosphere is nice. I felt the food was 80% fantastic and 20% ok. I'll definitely come back if only to eat that eggplant dish again! This restaurant is great option for larger parties as well! It wasn't too loud either.

Super delicious comforting chinese food. a little heavy and oily, but super yummy. i wouldn't get so many fried dishes next time as it was a bit intense of a palette but everything was so yummy. hi dan of the tofu beef soup. the century egg in the udon was unexpected but amazing. the eggplant was super crispy. fried fish was super crispy with a great sauce. might be my new favorite chinese place

Pretty nice large resturant in the middle of Manhattan. The food was pretty good and my favorite was the salt pepper beef. Not a bad place for a group of people.

This place is such a gem! The food, ambiance and service were all amazing. Our favorite dishes were: - the crispy eggplant , so good and such a unique texture - soy glazed fish , also so tasty and I loved the texture as well - soft shell crab , hard to come by and this was done right! I would definitely recommend this spot for people looking for elevated chinese food! the prices were also not too bad for the amount of food and quality!

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer.
