My husband and I were visiting Denver and stopped here for dinner. It was so good, in fact, that we returned again before we left. I actually ordered the Kickin' Chicken salad both times because I loved it. Josh served us and was great. At one point, he was somewhat MIA, but maybe there was a good reason. The spicy ranch dressing is fantastic because it tastes so obviously homemade and it's not overly spicy. The blackened chicken is excellent but I only wish it wasn't quite so salty. The homemade croutons are so delicious, I think they'd be a hit served in baskets on the table. My husband had the lunch special on this day, which was a crawfish corn tomato chowder. I've been eating at NoNo's since the beginning. I love the staff. I love the food. I love the consistency. The only thing that I would ask is to please have some kind of vanilla sweetener on hand, PLEASE. You used to have a hidden stash to accommodate my sweet coffee drinking needs, but stopped carrying it recently, to my dismay. You don't make lattes (which I know would be a big ask from me), which many other restaurants do so sometimes I end up choosing other restaurants simply for the coffee. Cute place that's been there for ages that we finally got to try. Service was good, food items are a bit pricey for the dinner option. The blackened catfish was heavily blackened and quite tasty. The Mac n cheese it came with was absolutely terrible. It is quite literally a block of noodles stuck together with cheese melted on top. And it's "homemade" whatever that means. As a Mac n cheese lover it's the worst, greasiest, sorry excuse for Mac I've ever encountered. It's "Cajun" but even when I looked up Cajun Mac online it wasn't like this. Love this place! The New Orleans background of the owners is evident in the menu, but there are so many options, and they change it up pretty frequently. On many visits, the servers have all been great. They are professionals, and treat everyone as the guests that they are. The location is welcoming. When they remodeled several years ago, we at first missed some of the decor, but have gotten used to the cleaner feel. From Brunch to dinner, this is a great restaurant. Their Green Chilé is really good, and the Alligator Pears are another favorite. Shepherd's Pie is one of my go-tos, and son has favored the Kickin' Chicken sandwich. We have eaten here 25 plus times. We are from Louisiana and love this place. We bring people here all the time. With this being said, we came here Friday and the quality of food has fallen. The crabmeat au gratin tasted like canned crab. The smothered blackened catfish, the catfish had a real fishy taste. The bbq shrimp was way overcooked. This was a very cute restaurant and the staff was nice. We got takeout since my husband was tired from work. He got the hot sausage po boy and I got the red beans and rice. We also got a side of macaroni and cheese and some beignets. My husband said that the po boy was delish but what really stood out were the house made sweet pickles. My husband loved them and he neverrrrrr eats pickles usually. My red beans and rice wasn't terrible, but I do feel like it could have had more seasoning. It's probably been over 3 years since I've eaten here, and I enjoyed my lunch today very much. I ordered from the Features Menu: Cajun meatloaf with spicy sauce (gravy), mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables ($15). The meal had two generous slices of meatloaf. The mashed potatoes were chunky and creamy--that is, perfect. And the vegetables were a nice mixture of onions, peppers, and long green beans. (I brought enough home for another lunch.) I did have a problem with my order. I'd requested the sauce on the side but the plate was delivered swimming in gravy. It was spicy as advertised, too much for me, but I decided to simply scrape off what I could and just make the best of it. Shortly after I started eating, though, our server came out and said he was thinking, and didn't I ask for the sauce in the side? Over my weak demurral he took my plate and brought a new one with the sauce on the side. I was impressed that he caught the error and acknowledged it (rather than just shrugging it off) and then made the order right. Turns out I liked the food much better when I could control the spiciness by just dipping bites in the gravy, so he made a good call. It was a lovely Indian Summer day, so we sat on the enclosed balcony and enjoyed the mountain view and the antics of birds in the tree next to us. Beignets with lots of powdered sugar made a perfect dessert. Ample parking, ramp into the restaurant for easy access with wheelchairs or walkers, busy but not teeming and noisy. They don't have beer on tap (which is ok) several local beers in a bottle. As far as the food, just ok nothing special. My wife ordered the blackened catfish (no flavor) , Mac and cheese (horrible) not creamy, stuck together like a brick and subbed out the sliced tomatoes for red beans & rice (they up charged $4.50 without telling us, ended up giving us it for free). I went to Louisiana and fell in love with the food. When I returned to Denver I needed to find some good Cajun food. I talked to one of my coworkers who was born in Louisiana and his go to place was Nono's Cafe. I have to say that the food was absolutely great. Nothing beats a good Po' Boy and Nono's has the best Po' Boy that you can get in the metro area. The shrimp was big, and fried to perfection. Fresh lettuce, tomato, some pickles, and tartar sauce. Now let me tell you this. The pickles were different than any other pickle I've ever had before. They were sweet and sticky with a good tang to them. They almost seem candied. I'm not a big fan of tartar sauce because of the capers that most have in them, but this was great. My girlfriend had the Blackened Catfish with the Moniaca Sauce and rice. It was great too. Super tender fish. The sauce really pulls it all together especially when you get the catfish blackened. Super good. The signature appetizer was Crab Quesadilla. I could've just eaten another platter of those and called it good. They were that good. Creamy, cheesy, deliciousness with crab. So dang good. We wrapped up the night with some Beignets. They were good. Better than other Beignets I've had in Colorado. But they still can't beat a good Beignet from Cafe du Monde. I've been to NoNo's Cafe twice, and each time I was thoroughly impressed with every thing they had to offer. Their location is a walkable distance from the hotel we stay at whenever we're attending a show at Red Rocks. I order the lunch portion of the Smothered Catfish. The creamy sauce is delicious. It is mildly spicy and each bite is full of flavor. We also tried the blackened pork chops, and they were very flavorful as well. I would highly recommend NoNo's Cafe to anyone looking to try some delectable Cajun fare. read more

But very rich! My aunt got the salmon tacos and really enjoyed them, and my dad's girlfriend got the chicken salad and really enjoyed it as well. We came here for breakfast and just love the charming small restaurant feel that Nono's has. The plain grits are great! Nothing in them, they are flavored just right. The grits with cheese and bacon is so good and have just the right amount of spice. The Cajun sausage is good but spicy! The biscuits are perfect, nice and soft. Door those in your grits and watch out! If you order something with grits, plan to share it. The portion sizes are HUGE! First off I have to say I do not like their booths and that has kept me from going for a meal. The booth is narrow and tight. It has a wood sconce that makes it hard to get in and out of, we had to stand up to get out. Anyway now to the food. Everything was just ok. The catfish had a mercury muddy taste. The rice had to flavor. The shrimp po boy was pretty good, the shrimp were fried golden brown and they are big. The mashed potatoes were creamy and a little spicy. The big problem I had was with the beignets, they were doughy and under cooked. More like a donut or a biscuit. One other thing was our server admitted to forgetting to hit send on our order so it took a long time for us to eat. A manager never stopped by to say sorry or give us a free dessert. NoNo's Cafe is nested in between the hotels close by to the 85/Santa Fe. I can definitely see that parking can be issue if they get super busy but we came on a Saturday night and was able to snag one quickly. When you come in, you are meet with decors that will remind you of the streets of New Orleans and the staff has the touch of southern hospitality. Since the pandemic, they have created a smaller menu but they still have a great variety of dishes including PoBoys. We decided to the Blacken Catfish which came with a side of mac and cheese and tomatoes. The catfish was seasoning perfectly and the tomato gave it the touch of freshness. The mac and cheese was decent, I loved that the sides of mine was crispy so it gave it a good contrast to the texture of the penne pasta. Overall, I would highly recommend giving the Blacken Catfish a try! I definitely think next time I am going to have to try it with the monica sauce!! NoNo's is a place that has been called the "best place in Littleton" by hotel front deck people for a long time. I think they're wrong. The food is cautiously Cajun/Creole, hesitant to accentuate flavors as if they aspire to be another Applebees. Weird pasta options abound. A recent description of a muffaletta special said that mortadella is "bologna with pistachios," and that hurt my soul a bit. Found this gem thanks to my wife. First of all, the ambiance and decor reminded us of our own trip to NOLO, with some Colorado flair. There's an outdoor seating area as well, which we'll need to take advantage of in warmer weather. As far as the food, sadly we missed the boil, but they have them every so often- can check their website. However, for an app, the crab au gratin was delicious and rich - highly recommended! For a larger group, you could buy the entree version. For dinner, I tried the smothered blackened catfish, which comes with a rich and creamy crawdad sauce, and has pieces of tail in it. Spices and flavor were on point, and the rice bed soaks everything up nicely. Saw a few other items in the menu I will be coming back to try. Very reasonably priced, good service, and great atmosphere. I'd definitely say YES YES to NoNo's! read more
