So we drive past this place when we go down the street to get pizza regularly. Every time we see it we say oh my gosh we need to try that place and we never do. We changed that yesterday. We were trying to think of a new place to go try and the crab House popped into our thoughts. And we're so glad we went! The server who I can only imagine is probably the owner, man she is a hustler! This woman runs the whole place without leaving a single person unattended. We came in after lunch and before dinner so it was a little quiet in there when we came, but you could tell this is just how she does things. The food was fresh. It wasn't salty which we kind of expected. The prices were very reasonable and we're glad we don't have to go all the way to Denver to get this type of food anymore. Coming from Illinois we had a quite a few of these types of places near where we lived, but we don't have a lot of Cajun seafood here in Colorado. I was very happy to find something that wasn't terribly far from home, was clean, and the food was delicious! If I can give any critique, I wish the shrimp was just a little fresher. My husband and I tried The Crab House on our trip to Colorado and it was amazing! We were visiting from California so the prices were great in comparison lol The service was phenomenal; our server was such a sweet lady and the food was delicious. One thing I would like to point out is we were not big fans of the clam chowder...it was a little too watery for our liking but everything else was very tasty! With a little more attention to detail, the food at The Crab House could easily be five stars, but it just doesn't quite make the grade. We'll keep coming back, though. We'll just be choosy. Some items are great, and the prices are good - especially in this rising-cost economy we all face. The backstory: One of my son's favorite shops has moved near The Crab House in Englewood. We love seafood and Cajun seafood boil. He's brought us two take-out meals so far. Meal 1: My son ordered in person to check out the menu in the restaurant. It matched the online menu, hurrah! Off to a good start. We had the Special Cajun F, a combination seafood boil listed as 1 lb lobster tail, 1/2 snow crab, 1/2 pound shrimp (head off), with 2 corn, 2 potatoes, 2 chicken sausage, and Cajun sauce, medium. Price in early January 2025 was $37. At that price I figured it had to mean "one lobster tail," which turned out to be correct. The lobster tail is listed as 6 ounces and was a good size to share in a. meal with other items. Unfortunately it was overcooked, so the large uncovered end was tough and quite dry. The sauce was definitely appreciated. The bottom half of the tail was firm but more flavorful and not so dry in texture. None of it was tender or tender-firm and moist, which would have been preferred. The lobster tail was just okay. The 1/2 snow crab was good, cooked right with a nice large claw. I wouldn't hesitate at all to order more snow crab. The star of the show was the shrimp. Half a pound totaled nine plump, meaty shrimp done perfectly, with split shells that were easy to remove. The shrimp hooked me. We were shorted a potato, and the one we got was tiny. Sad for two people, but oh well; it was done perfectly and tasted lovely for the two bites we each got. Two sections of corn on the cob, about 1.5 inches each, delicious and sweet. Two thin strips of chicken sausage, okay. The medium Cajun sauce was excellent. This was a good late lunch for two. It wouldn't be quite enough for a two-person dinner without a salad or some other item. Meal 2: We ordered boiled clams in medium garlic butter, a pound of shrimp with medium all-in-one sauce, and a lobster roll with Cajun fries included. The shrimp were excellent once again. Top notch. The medium all-in-one sauce was a little hotter than the medium Cajun sauce. It's probably better to go for the distinct individual sauces, though. The clams weren't pictured on the menu. As I expected, they turned out to be Manila clams, mostly shell and very little meat. At least all the shells were open so we could eat them all. Our order yielded about 16. Not much to each clam, but each was tasty and chewy enough to provide a satisfying experience if not just gulped down. Take your time. We hadn't been sure what to expect with "medium garlic butter." It was a pleasant surprise, loaded with little chunks of minced garlic which made up most of the thick sauce. There was a slight butter taste with medium spice. We ended up loving it. Each boil-bag was supposed to come with 1 corn, 2 potatoes, and a strip of chicken sausage. We lucked out with an extra corn in each bag. (Lack of attention to detail in our favor this time, but consistency or consistent generosity would be better.) The Cajun fries were plentiful and very good. Below is what the lobster roll looks like on the menu ("image for reference only") followed by the actuality. Not even close. With considerable effort and forethought, it was possible to make each mouthful a huge bite of bread with a tiny bit of the lobster salad. The lobster salad was delicious but there was far too little of it, and it seemed like it had been minced. Every bit of lobster was tiny; no chunks at all. Fortunately the bread was warm with a lightly toasty crust, tender, and extremely delicious. If the bread had been less than perfect, the lobster roll would have been a bigger disappointment than it was. We won't be ordering that again. So four stars, and we'll keep trying. I hope the restaurant keeps trying too! I look forward to tasting their crabcakes, Dungeness crab, and fried seafood among other items, and I'll always aim to get some of the boiled shrimp to avoid disappointment. read more

My friend groups go to seafood boil place, whether it's sitting in or ordering in, quality stays the same. Service is always wonderful! We love the combos but also recently tried the catfish and it was great! This place is a FANTASTIC locally owned and operated SEAFOOD BOIL restaurant. All the other stuff on the menu is just extra (judge them on what the restaurant is intended for you don't go to a Greek place for Indian food) The seafood boils are top notch the BEST in Denver and the staff is so nice it feels like eating at home. Only about two tables with people, My wife and ordered the Crab Roll and Clam Chowder I ordered the lobster bisque and Calamari. The soups were both very thin and had very little clams or Lobster in them. The Lobster Bisque was $15.99. not worth the price. The crab Cakes were frozen. The Calamari was So So. My wife only took one bite, and sent it back It was terrible. It was watery and looked like cat food that had been sitting out for days. Went placed my order after placing my order I realized I made a mistake I spoke to my server and she would not change my order. Server threatened me to call the police all because I asked to change my order because I made a mistake. After going back and forth asked to just pay for the hush puppies that I ordered and she would not allow me to. Ended up paying for shrimp and mussels that I did not even touch or want to take home with me. When I got there, the place was empty. As I made my way to the counter, I didn't know whether I was able to dine in or take out. The individual behind the counter didn't even ask me; so confusing. I ended up getting a booth. It took the same individual like 5 minutes before taking my order, which I have no idea why I'd need that much time and no one else was in the restaurant. Never asked me for a drink. I ordered the lobster roll with fries and honey mustard (which apparently turned into ranch when my order came out). Everything about the meal tasted so bland. I have had better at so many other places. I was left disappointed. Not only was the service awkward and had an uncaring attitude, but the ambiance was strange too -- I felt like an earthquake was happening the entire time I was there -- the entire booth was mildly shaking. I also liked the metal bucket for scraps, the bib and plastic gloves. We ordered the shrimp Bag (head off) combo for 1lb and the fried chicken tender basket with coleslaw. The chicken was lightly fried and the flavor was delicious. Great find! ((Though driving apps take you to Moe's, this place is actually facing Floyd, next to Whiskey Biscuit on corner of S. Broadway & Floyd)) and with a small parking lot! Easy to-go pickup, though nicely spaced and super clean indoor eating space. Super friendly staff! The lobster roll was fantastic. Many places cheat on the portion of lobster but this was the perfect amount. I'm a huge fan of hush puppies and these rock! The online menu through their direct website and Yelp/grub hub aren't exactly the same - and availability times are also all over the place in the various listings - so that could use some work, but I called in and it was a breeze. read more

The hush puppies tasted like they had too much corn meal, so we were not fans. The lobster roll was just split on the top and the meat pilled on top, so it was mostly bread and only OK. The shrimp broil was OK, but not something I would order again. It was very messy and the idea was to pour it out onto the table, but I prefer a plate and silverware. Speaking of plates, the plate we got for the appetizers were paper plates, so that was a bit of a surprise. At 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon it was dead, and the service was spotty. However, the headless shrimp boil I ordered was quite tasty and the shrimp were very large. I had a choice of flavoring for my boil: Cajun, garlic butter, Old Bay, lemon pepper, or all-in-one. I chose the all-in-one and thought it was a good blend. Steve ordered a fried shrimp basket. I have mixed feelings giving this review. We just left with at least half of our leftovers. We got a side salad to start, a crab roll (real crab!!!), and fried shrimp with coleslaw. It was all surprisingly very good. The fun breading on the shrimp was delicious! As were the Cajun fries! The reason I can't give it a 5 is really to no fault of their own. A man came in, right to our table while we were eating asking for money and food. It made me so anxious that I stopped eating and packed up my leftovers. We just ordered delivery from here for the first time and are so happy with our order! I'm from The east coast and have struggled with finding a good, reasonably priced seafood place that's not super far! I ordered the lobster roll (duh) with coleslaw which had tons of lobster on it. $18 was reasonable for the size and quantity of the roll. The bread was a little strange to me as the lobster was basically on top of it and it didn't seem like a normal roll but it was ultimately fine. The taste is what matters. My husband got the fried shrimp basket. There were like 8-10 huge shrimp and the breading was crispy and perfect. We will definitely be ordering from here again soon. My wife and I were super hungry after spending Columbus Day car shopping and cooling our heels in the parking lot while the salesman prepared the paperwork, and stopped here to go to the Whiskey Biscuit next door, but that establishment is closed on Mondays. So glad it was! Gave us the chance to try this little gem. We got the crab cakes and calamari appetizers. Both were fantastic and served with some super dipping sauces. Calamari can be tricky to cook - a lot of places make it with a rubbery consistency, but this place's chef knows how to make it properly - delicate and flavorful. We each got a lobster roll for our main course, and they were the best I've had in a long time. While I've lived in the area for decades, I'm originally from Boston, and the seafood in Denver can be hit or miss - this place is a big hit. Our waitress was really nice and funny, and smiled and laughed a lot, which made us feel very welcome and at home. Next time I go I think I'll get one of the seafood boils - the ones ordered by patrons at another table looked and smelled fantastic. They're a bit light on beers, nothing but pale lagers on the menu, so we had happy hour twofers of Cabernet. One thing I noticed when we first sat down at one of the booths along the west wall - the booth had this very strange and unnerving vibration to it that seemed to be coming from the Asian Grill next door. It was like a very mild Magic Fingers bed at a cheap motel in the 90s. It made me quite uncomfortable so we moved to a table where the problem disappeared. read more

Walking in it was what we expected: long tables for communal eating, lots of ocean and boating decor, and flat screen TVs all around. This is a place to sit down, get your hands dirty, and enjoy some good seafood. Their menu had more options than similar restaurants and our waitress was very good about steering us through the options. This place is now my go to for boils. We tried black mussels, and it has only the meat side of the shell which is incredible compared how they're normally served. We got medium with garlic butter and it wasn't too spicy but had the perfect amount of flavor. Also had the lobster roll, and it was LOADED, like flowing over the top with meat, both claws and tails. OMG! This experience was everything I needed tonight! Im new to Colorado and have not liked the food so far since moving here and this has totally redeemed my past experiences! The service to start was AMAZING! I called before coming to inquire about the wait and Selina was so kind, encouraging us to "Just walk in!". Upon arriving, I saw Selina was also the server and only one to a full dining room and plenty of online orders, but she wasn't overwhelmed! She quickly sat my aunt and I and reassured us we'd be served quickly. As promised, after a quick trip to the restroom, Ms. Selina had another associate drop our water and then she helped us with figuring out the seafood selection, sauces, and even drinks! Her great attitude was contagious and we loved her! Given the full house and tables still seating, our food came out pretty fast!
