I found nonstop on YELP and decided to give them a try after reading the reviews. I wasn't disappointed. I just bought a house and was anxious to change the locks. I made an appointment and they gave me a 3 hour window. The day of, I called to confirm the appointment (not a good start considering they said they would call the day before to confirm) and they told me they would try to get someone out there sooner. Low and behold Victor from nonstop showed up within 30 min saving my afternoon . Victor was professional and thorough and got the job done fairly quickly. He tried to get me a couple of extra copies of keys, but had a problem with the keycutter in his work truck (bummer). Victor apologized and said that I could get free copies of the keys at the store if I had time. I thanked him and went in celebration mode so I never made it to the store. The following day I stopped by the shop and met Montez. Montez rememebered Victor calling about me and told me he would take care of me. While waiting for my keys, I saw a nice safe for sale, but didnt see a price. Montez had trouble finding the price, but eventually sold me the display model at cost saving me about $50. I locked myself out of my car this morning. This was not my first rodeo in terms of locking myself out. Prior to living in Chicago, I lived in the suburbs, and my local police always got me out of a jam for free. I called 311 expecting a similar situation to occur with the Chicago police; this was not the case. Chicago does not send police help unless a child is locked in the car and the woman on the line was unapologetic as she suggested a locksmith. Frustrated, I called here because it was one of the first numbers that popped up in my online search. When they quoted me the price for someone to come do a quick unlock, I was floored. I was going to receiving this service for free from the police to paying over 100 dollars just to get my keys out. I explained my situation, and Nonstop was actually able to give me a little discount to help me out. They got two really nice guys, Chris and Wayne, out to my car in just about the same amount of time that it usually takes the police. They were very kind, courteous, and dealt with my situation professionally. I have worked A LOT of retail and customer services positions in my life and I rarely receive honest, good customer service like this. Non-stop locksmith you are a lifesaver!! I had to get my locks rekeyed this past week after I lost my original keys a few months ago and now the backup keys as well. I was procrastinating getting a 2nd set of keys replaced and this is the result. So coming home from work I had to face my neighbor and ask if I can crawl out their window so I could walk through a rooftop and climb into my apartment. Embarrassing. Finally home I go online and find this place, it's nearby and the reviews sounds good. I give them a call and schedule an appointment. The guy that arrived, Alex was very courteous and professional with me. He arrived well within the timeframe I scheduled and finished fairly quick. I rekeyed my locks instead of getting copies made just in case someone followed the address on the keychain and decided to come inside. Not very safe and won't do that again. So I got my keys (and a 2nd set of course). This guy even fixed a few other minor issues the door knobs had at no extra charge. I was amazed, rarely do you find companies going out of their way to please their customers. I hope I don't have any more issues in regards to losing my keys but if I do or know anybody that needs help this is the 1st place I'll recommend. Came to these guys after going through all the other options. I was looking to get a key made for a teachers desk that I bought a couple years ago. I read online that you could give a locksmith the code on the lock cylinder and they could make you a key that would work. All of the three places that I called before said that it would be around $20-$25 and that they couldn't guarantee anything. Fine, fair enough. But it seemed simple enough so I kept calling around. When I talked to these guys they were immediately giving me options on what could be done. When I went into the store the next day 3 different people were weighing in on what key they think would work best and they also offered that if the first cut (which would only be $15 by the way) didn't work that I could bring it back and we could try some other cuts. They even said that if we couldn't find a key to work that they were willing to come to my apartment and take out the existing lock on the desk and replace it with a new one so that I could have a key that worked. But it turns out that their first guess worked and I'm able to lock the desk now. I've never had to use a locksmith before but if you're looking for one, go here. The service was just okay, coming into the store I was never greeted or even acknowledged, after "he" a hispanic guy was done with the customer he was serving before I came in, I politely said hello I'd like to get 20 of these keys made, he never said hello, he instantly said let me see how much that'll be, after telling me it'll be 57.00 I says okay that's fine, he proceeded to cut the keys. Shortly after he started a woman came in, he says I'll be right with you ma'am, I wasn't acknowledge at all, but of course not, I'm African American and the woman that came in was Caucasian. During the cutting of my keys he kept telling the lady he was almost finished and he apologized. once he was done he took my card gave me a receipt, never said Thank you or anything. He made sure the woman behind me was well taken care of , me not so much. Abbie was such a life saver. I needed home security because of all the neighborhood kids (or should I say children of the corn) kept breaking into my yard and stealing all my garbanzo beans. Now the good lord knows what they were doing with them and what kind of shenanigans these youngens get into nowadays. Last week I saw a kid running a full blazing speed in the middle of the road yelling fuzzy walnuts while having no shoes on ?? I mean what are these kids on ?? And where are there parents ?? I would get my backside heated up for not coming home before the streetlights went out. Nonstop Locksmith's Technician - Adam was fantastic. He was on time and gave me a call to let me know he was on his way. The lock on the door leading from my house to my garage broke and it took him less than 5 minutes to fix. He also pointed out some security issues in the garage and gave me some great tips on how to secure that area. Since he was here I also had him look at my French doors leading outside that have always been a little flimsy (they even blew open during a storm once). He made a couple of quick adjustments and it made all the difference! Adam went above and beyond what I expected when I called a locksmith. I lost my keys somehow and needed a new pair as well as an extra for emergency. I was on my way to Ace Hardware and came upon Nonstop. Since I'm more inclined to support neighborhood shops I decided to get my keys done there. Montez was extremely friendly and my keys were done in no time flat. He boasted that I'll never have to come back to get my keys adjusted and that he does perfect cuts every time. Well, sure enough the key slid smoothly into the lock, unlock the other keys I had from Home Depot, where I had to wiggle it every time I tried to open the door. Montez also put the keys on a ring for me (yeah, it saved like $1.10, but still, it was a nice gesture) and sent me on my way. If I lose my keys again, I'm coming back here. read more

They were very accommodating to the cost, time and education to prevent this incident from happening again. They responded to my call immediately and were able to get a technician to my house within the half hour. Since I've never used a locksmith in my life, I was shocked at the initial price. This business worked with me and lowered the initial cost to accommodate me. How amazing is that!? The technician was able to help me get into my apartment in an efficient amount for time. Adam, from Non-Stop Locksmith, provided an exceptional service. My lock issues started when I ordered 9 key copies for 5 different locks at Home Depot. Four keys didn't work at all and one of those got stuck in the lock. Adam solved all the problems. A new lock was needed to replace the one damaged by the bad/stuck key. A re-key service avoided the making of dozens of key copies for this new lock to distribute to all units of the condo (great inconvenience). Adam was courteous, professional and efficient. A few months ago, our back door lock quit working. For security, we needed a quick fix, so we called Non-Stop Locksmith--chosen simply beause we'd seen their shop on Montrose, not far from where we live. Non-Stop came quickly, and the technician installed a new commercial grade lock and door knob. The service was friendly and fast, and the new lock has worked perfectly. More recently--about a week ago--we needed several spare keys made, so I stopped by the shop on Montrose. The technician on duty, Jose, made the keys in a matter of minutes. I've had the pleasure of using Non stop twice in the past. One time I had locked myself out of my apartment and needed Emergancy service. Within minutes of placing the order I received a call from the technician with an ETA. He arrived within the quoted time and had me inside my apartment within minutes. The second time I used Non-Stop was to have my doors rekeyed. I had a roommate move out on bad terms and needed the locks changed. I called to set up an appointment for the following day.
