Patrick, the locksmith, was very professional, polite, and efficient. I had four locks to rekey and he was done in under an hour. However, compared to other locksmiths in the area they are bit overpriced. Also, I was unable to pull up my yelp app to get the $10 discount, and rather than take it on good faith that I would provide them a 5 star review, which needs to be written at the time of invoicing so they can take a picture of it for proof, their "policy" did not afford me that luxury. They do warn you of that at the time you schedule the appointment, but I did not anticipate having the troubles I experienced. That is the biggest reason for only three stars. read more

I came here for a pretty simple reason - needed some copies of keys made. When I first walked in, the gentleman (didn't catch his name) was talking to another customer about a problem he was having with a door lock. He told me he would be right with me. I listened to him problem solve and discuss the solution, and sent the man out with some great ideas and a free key chain - he explained he didn't want to sell him something without being sure it was what he needed. Class act. I then gave him four keys (all of which I THOUGHT were different -just moved into a new building with 4 different doors!) and asked for one copy or each. He walked over the the machine and then came back and explained that the keys were already duplicates and wanted to know if I still wanted one of each or if I was set. I decided to get one extra just in case, but I can't express how much I appreciated him not taking advantage of my ignorance. While I don't often have lock needs, I wouldn't think twice about visiting in the future. They seem really honest and legit, which is is refreshing. read more

Avoid this company at all costs! Called them to see if they could fix front door lock which was very old and was told it could not be fixed. Not surprising. After having to return 2 more times just to get the correct measurements to determine our choice for a new lock, we picked out a lock and hardware and was told it would take about 2 weeks to get it.After a week I followed up and I was told the lock was on order and would be in the following week. I was then told it was not on order and would need to wait another 2 weeks. Left numerous messages for the technician Kurt who would not even have the courtesy to return my calls. At this point I did not believe they were deserving of my business. Probably the worst customer service experience I have ever had. read more

I can't tell you how important accurate, timely, and affordable key cutting is to a property manager. It's absolutely essential! I've been to nonstop locksmith looking to make regular key copies and some hard to find/copy elevator keys and while other locksmiths turned me around, nonstop shrugged their shoulders and told me it'd be about 5-10 minutes for my copies. This place is a joke. The guy who did the work on our gate was very friendly and professional, but the issues there after have been beyond ridiculous. They have a warranty that if something breaks that they worked on within a week, they'll take care of it. That is exactly what happened. The issue happened again, within the warranty, and they dispatched somebody back out to fix it. A few weeks later I got a bill for $110. They confirmed that it was an incorrect invoice. After four emails, at least six phone calls, more than one guarantee that I didn't need to pay it AND that they would stop calling me, they still are! This has been going on for three months and I don't understand what kind of billing department and process they have internally. Like I said, the guy who came out and fixed our gate was nice, but the headache there after has been more than enough to not recommend this place at all. Stay away. read more

I lost my housekeys, including my mailbox key. I went here and got instant and friendly service for my condo key. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially to someone who was feeling pretty dumb for losing keys--- something I am especially careful about. (To make matters worse I lost them at the Cook County Courthouse when I was there for jury duty. I think it must have been when we went through security and had to take everything out of our pockets. The only consolation was that when I went to lost and found the next day, there were plenty of other lost keys there!) Anyway, when I asked about the mailbox, they said no problem. I live nearby, and someone was out in less than 20 minutes, drilled the lock, installed a new one and left me with new keys after about 10 minutes, and for $10 less than my condo manager would have charged me! Their expertise and conscientiousness really made me feel secure and I will certainly use their services again should the need arise. read more
