Met friends that had never visited the Reno Public Market knowing they would be impressed. They opted for NV Burgers while a ramen bowl looked great to us. The Three Little Pigs looked good to me so I dove in. Pulled pork, candied bacon, bok choy, pickled daikon (long white radish), mushrooms, very fresh noodles, corn, eggs and scallions. Each ingredient of the dish adds to the overall flavor but has flavor on their own as well. Sure candied bacon is tasty but so were the mushrooms and the daikon. The noodles were delicious as was the broth. Order and give your number and expect a text when your order is ready. Of course between not paying attention and the crowd noise I didn't hear the text. They brought our order to us and thanked us for visiting. Visit the Reno Public Market and take your friends or coworkers or even your crazy uncle cause everyone can get what they want and you don't have to pay for it all! I have lived in NV for 2 years now and never heard of the Reno Public Market. My daughter and son in law found this place while on vacation. There is a central bar, good music playing. They tried the Noodle Station and loved it. Said the Ramen was phenomenal. We decided to try them out of all the other food places inside the marketplace. They were out of 1 of the meats on the bowl we ordered. No problem, they gave extra pulled pork (OMG tender yummm) and the brisket, it had a little more chew to it, but still very delicious. We opted for the pork broth with udon noodles. It included the 1/2 egg, corn, bok choy, daikon radish, bamboo shoot and I am sure I am missing something. 10/10 The service was fairly quick, but the bowl 2 of us shared and still had allot left as it was huge. Good noodle shop with generous portions. I ordered an OG ramen and spicy brisket bao bun. Both were ready quickly and the order total was a little over $30. I got the OG Ramen and it came with a lot of noodles, vegetables, and pork. I wish the broth had a little more to it, felt like it was missing something, but the noodles were cooked perfectly, everything came piping hot, and the pork had good flavor. The bao could use a little more flavor, and wasn't really spicy at all but the meat and ingredients were fresh and good. Overall, it was a good lunch, but I am unsure if I would spe d the money to come back under current price points. read more

The service was fast, and the portion was large and warm- perfect for a rainy day. As a vegetarian, I'm used to getting something different anytime I get a vegan broth/ramen, but I would say this is the sweetest one I've ever had. I don't usually like to add soy sauce, but I felt it was necessary with how sweet the broth was. My non-vegetarian partner tried the vegan broth in comparison to their tonkatsu bowl and said it was noticeably different, much sweeter. I think maybe it was ginger, or maybe there was lemongrass? When I inquired if the noodles were vegan she brought the bag right over to me and told advised me that her boss says to always bring customers the packaging to avoid confusion. As a vegan I approve that moto. The food was the real let down. To begin, the soul was extremely bland. Miso broth is usually very flavorful, this was not. There was nothing to add to it like soy sauce or sriracha. The vegan noodles were actually terrible; Chewy and tough all at once. I ordered the vegan bao, mushroom only, sweet not spicy. They delivered me tofu bao spicy. She took it back and had it remade for me. What came out was ice cold buns, ice cold mushrooms, the middle of the bun was soggy from cold mushroom juice. Even though my expectations weren't high based on the reviews I read, I was still thoroughly disappointed. For starters, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen but got the original shoyu/chicken broth without warning. When I questioned about the tonkotsu, they told me they were out of the tonkotsu broth (which I would have appreciated to know when I was paying for the meal). I took the ramen because I didn't want to waste the bowl. The ramen itself was not the worst I've had, but very far from the best. I liked the noodles, but that was about it. I have a high standard for ramen. I have not found a good ramen place in Reno yet. But since RPM has one ramen stand, had to give it a try. I brought my husband and son, who's another ramen enthusiast. My expectations are low. Son orders a tonkotsu, and OG ramen for me. Good: they are hot (temp) and come with good amount of soup. Also the noodles are... surprisingly good. However, the soup is extremely salty for both versions. I saw some reviewers commenting that it was "bland" so maybe they overcompensated? It really shouldn't be so salty. But other than that, it was one of the best we had in Reno. Husband had a pulled pork bao, and he said it was ok. He was not happy that the serving was so small, considering how much it was. Well, I hope they'll get better, because we need good ramen here! We'll come back and give them another try. read more

I had the Tonkatsu Ramen. I have to say that my rating is based on the portion size compared to a comparable dish of the same name served at a sit down ramen restaurant. Flavor wise the broth was a little bland. If the portion size was bigger I would not be as disappointed. But what they gave me was a cup-o-noodle sized portion with the obligatory soft boiled egg and two or three small square inch pieces of pork belly. The noodles stuck to the bottom of the disposable container so hopefully something else can be found to avoid this. The venue itself, which I should probably be reviewing also is disappointing compared to other public markets I've been to. Hopefully the portions get bigger with more protein, because I had to go and buy a taco so that I didn't have to go away hungry. read more

The broth was very bland, and the ajitama was insanely soy sauce saturated. I tried to add corn to my tonkotsu ramen and was charged for it, but didn't receive corn. The prok belly was good, there just wasn't much of it. I had super high hopes for this place because I love ramen and it's very close to my apartment. There was pulled pork that belongs in a burrito, cooked mushrooms, pickled daikon that belongs in a Korean dish, cabbage that was unfortunate, chicken chunks that also belonged in a burrito was dry, BACON... there was breakfast bacon on top, and egg that they couldn't even cut correctly. We also had the regular bowl of tonkatsu we got just slices of fat. There are better ramen spots than this at a better price, save your money and go to Haru! If you've never had real Japanese ramen before this place would definitely hit the spot. The portion size is very generous and I love that they have a vegetarian option with lots of veggies and tofu. However, the broth is not a traditional ramen broth and the flavoring is strangely sweet. The noodles are definitely packaged noodles but I'm not saying that's a bad thing, this is a food court ramen place after all. the ramen wasn't very hot when I got it and the bowl was very full making it really hard to carry to my table. This place is located inside the Reno public market, and this was my first time both to the market, and eating here. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and went over to the main bar to order a drink. In the time it took me to walk over and order my drink, my food order was ready while I was still waiting for my cocktail. Once my drink was ready, I walked over, and was able to pick up my order (right next to the cashier area/where you pay). I walked upstairs with it (this may have been a touch easier with a tray), and dug into my noodle bowl. Overall, it was good, not great. I think there were plenty of noodles, greens, a half egg, and pork, however, the broth itself made was good, but overall didn't have a ton of breadth to it/not a lot layers - just tasted salty, and all the noodles themselves stuck together quite a bit (making it a bit challenging to eat). Overall I liked it, but will likely try something else next time I am here, from a different vendor. read more

I love that Reno Public Market has so much variety to choose from. Unfortunately, I was not left with a great impression on the night I decided to have ramen there. Maybe one of the employees was new, so I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. But I received the text that my order of an "OG Ramen" was ready. I brought the bowl back to my table and started eating, only to realize that my bowl had no meat in it. Brought the bowl back to the counter and it turns out they brought out a different person's order first by accident, and my actual order was now on the counter. Honest mistakes happen and that's fine. Their soft skills could use some work because there wasn't much of a warm welcome when I first ordered and not much of an apology when I came back for the wrong order. Felt bad for the guy in front of me who probably had to wait longer as they made a new order for him. Now that I had my correct order, though a little cold from having sat out, I still found the ramen itself unimpressive. The broth had flavor, but with a single tone of what I'd just describe as "salty beef". And the pulled pork mostly added more salt and not much of its own flavor into the bowl. Ironically, I liked the corn the most for its contrast to the salt. Besides the flavor, the noodles would stick to the paper bowl they were served in, which was a little annoying. But I can appreciate the more environmentally friendly alternative to plastic. For a similar price point, I would much rather dine in at Haru or Minato for their stellar ramen bowls. I think if you're craving ramen, consider saving that for another experience. Otherwise, I think the price of the noodles is more for the convenience of location. I'd try this place one more time for their bao buns instead, which looked delicious from what I saw of other people's orders. read more

We ordered the Chicken Bao and the Pulled Pork Bao. The Bao is like a little street Taco. Neither the chicken or the pulled pork filling was anything to write home about. The Bao were smothered in Kimchi was was the dominant, if not overwhelming , flavor note. Both order were at best like lukewarm; maybe 15 sec in a microwave. The total bill was $34.70 with a can of Coke and a bottle of water. There was also an UNEXPLAINED $2.25 processing fee which is ridiculous. 'Processing' for what? We won't be back. read more

The corn, mushrooms, scallions, all freezing cold and then I dipped them in my broth and my broth got cold from being scolding hot! The pork belly in the make your own and in my partner's tonkotsu was all fat, all of it! The bao buns looked fine, didn't try them but I most likely will not return.
