I literally forgot how good this place was. It's been so so long since we last been here. Maybe about 10 plus years ago? I was strolling through Asian family-style restaurants and came across Noodle World. All the memories started to come back. I told my husband let's have our family Sunday lunch here. Everyone including my parents loved the food. My mom is beyond picky every time we go out to eat. SHE always has negative feedback or comments. I was feeling under the weather so I checked out yelp for the best pho in the area and this place popped up which I had seen plenty of times. I thought it was just a ramen place, but turns out they have Pho and all types of noodle dishes. I ordered the beef pho over the phone with a felt nice lady. She made me feel comfortable and didn't rush me or anything. They also have a texting system which lets you know when your order is ready which I liked. When I arrived I was confused on to where to park. The restaurant is on the main Street Ventura, where they have metered parking in front. In the back they have a parking lot which is free for short period of time and behind that more metered parking. The noodle spot is on the first floor of the la Reina mall and has indoor and outdoor seating. I came around 2pm on a Tuesday and it was empty. It looks pretty clean inside and if I ever wanted to come eat in I wouldn't mind it. The beef pho was a good portion of food. It came with all the sides of veggies, peppers, and sauces. I liked the flavor of the broth. However I must say that the beef portion seemed a bit underwhelming. With only 3 small slabs of beef, I found myself still wanting more protein. Oh noodle world we need a location in Phoenix! We usually go to noodle world in Alhambra or San Marino when we're in LA but this time we were not near those locations but we found this location. Thankfully it has all of the dishes we order from noodle world. Other noodle world Jr's. Don't have our favorites on their menu. Maybe things changed or it varies by location. This is a small place, you order first then look for a place to sit. The food came out fast, hot and delicious! It really hit the spot! Unfortunately we were so hungry that I forgot to take pictures! We had seaweed salad, egg rolls and chicken Pad See Ew as our main dish. Seaweed salad was okay, texture was as expected flavor was good and light but dish was cold which isn't for me but I know that's just my preference. The egg rolls were fantastic! Nice and crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful in the inside. Our main dish, the chicken Pad See Ew was really good. This is one of my favorite places to order this dish. I highly recommend it. They offered 3 different hot sauces, one was hot and vinegary, one was a traditional oil, not super spicy and the third was Sriracha. The service was incredible. The server (only guy there) kept referring our drinks and packaged our leftover food at the end. Really happy with this lever of service, he didn't have to do all that. One of my go-to value cheap eats. Been going here regularly but have to admit I have not dined in since pre pandemic. I think they have limited seating now but please call the store to check. This is my go to lunch during weekdays (DoorDash) and I always order chicken mint leaf - as seen in the picture below - it's has fried eggs on top cooked to my liking. This dish is so filling - I actually split it in half and eat the left over the next day. Note that it might be spicy for some - but just right for me. Aside from the chicken mint leaf - I recommend their garlic noodles and the beef steak. These are the 3 dishes I would recommend. Pre pandemic when we used to dine in here - I remember trying some of their noodle dishes but the garlic noodles are the only one that stands out to me. After we were done, I had some left over water and I didn't want to dump it in their trash bin so I asked him if I can dump it in their sink. He asked for me cup, went outdoor and watered the plants! Amazing! Menu: food and drinks. Menu was simple. Ordered a couple of dishes and both are great! Panang Curry: Came with white rice. Tasty and not too intense. Pineapple fried rice: Great fried rice and not like others that always added curry spice, This one actually without and I preferred it this way. They fried it with a good wok and fire. I don't know how to explain it but it has the authentic smell and taste to it. Not like it was made with a fancy "wok" but this one was made with the real wok and real fire frying this fried rice! Then someone came in ordered their Thai tea boba. Upon hearing her, I went up and ordered the same thing! I didn't see any drinks on the menu so I didn't know that they even sell boba! They are priced a bit expensive but the portion reflects the price. All the dishes got that wok hei (flavor/aroma of the wok fry) so they are good. Once before a time not so long ago Noodle World was an affordable eat delivering value-minded Asian cuisine. The junior locations are a scaled-down version for an even more casual stop. Dishes here are individually sized and served in takeaway containers no matter whether you decide to dine in or find alternate accommodation. Departure from a communal dining experience, dishes here are limited and really at an average pace for flavors. The simple pleasures of noodles both wet and dry come out of the kitchen quickly and that is really all there is. There is also an overly use of sugar in the dishes. Flavors are not balanced. Rice dishes can be equally discerning. For the neighborhood, this may do exceptionally well, but the value for the seasoned may leave you wondering about alternatives. The service is excellent. The staff is very nice. Most of the business seems to be catering for pickup and delivery though. Parking in the building is expensive, but there is a public lot just across the way from the side street. Otherwise, street parking is an option. read more

Normally I get the spaghetti or pork chop at the senior Noodle World (planet) in Monterey Park or Westwood a long time ago and love love loved it. My friends were in the valley so we dropped by the junior and my vegetable noodle soup was so underwhelming. The broth tasted like mushroom and salt and unfortunately a cup of noodle would have been far superior. I asked my friends how their steak and rice and pad Thai (?) was and they gave an unenthusiastic "it's ok". We got the chicken garlic noodles and chicken chow mein. Chicken garlic noodles were super umami!!!!!!! Loads of garlic but not too overpowering. Noodles were soft and chewy. I loved the addition of mushrooms. The bit of crunch and sweetness from the corn and peas were perfect. Chicken was not dry at all. A bit greasy, but I didn't mind. For the price, the portions are pretty large. I still managed to finish everything though! And tastes better than it looks in the picture! This didn't affect my rating but fyi: Parking is sorta a nightmare. There's a back lot for parking, but Noodle World did not have validation. There's also no dine in. After waiting 18 minutes for two dishes, with no other customers, I went home and discovered my mint tofu order had been made instead as mint chicken. I'm vegetarian. The cashier I called acknowledged it was her error, but even after calling the manager, they wouldn't refund my order unless I came back to the store with the food. Whoever was the gentleman working on 2/14/20 in the evening provided us with amazing customer service. The food on the other was horrible. The garlic noodles has no taste of garlic whatsoever, not even a hint! There were so many other flavors happening on that plate. Shiitake mushrooms, peas, corn, nuts, cheese... but no garlic flavor! As a matter of fact it tasted sweet. I added chili paste but even then it wasn't edible for me. Too much going on. Garlic noodles should be buttery and garlic-y - this was far from it. Noodle World Jr was a bit of a letdown, and I'm sorry to say, I'm not a fan. Came here tonight for dinner for my first time and left pretty disappointed. This restaurant has always caught my eye walking or driving past it, as I'm a big fan of noodle dishes, but after giving it a try tonight, I'm not sure whether I'll be back. Perhaps my expectations were set too high. First things first, this is the type of place where you order/pay at the front, take a seat, and wait for your food to be delivered to your table. I was surprised to find that out, but I don't discriminate. I was excited to see what they'd serve up. In terms of noodles, the menu is quite comprehensive, offering udon, ramen, pho, and more. I opted for the beef pho option, priced around $9. Admittedly, this is more like a fast food restaurant than anything. The food was quick to come out, and they do go cheap here. Even the soup bowl was disposable. In terms of taste and quality of ingredients, it definitely missed the mark. The beef was below average, and the broth was too salty. The noodles were all densely packed together, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was just instant noodles. The serving size was not that generous, either. All in all, I think this place is a bit overpriced for what it is. You can find really delicious bowls of ramen or pho at authentic restaurants for cheaper, and the serving size will be a lot larger and more satisfying. If you're looking for an authentic noodle house, I would not recommend this place. While the variety of options is good, the quality and taste is not. read more

I grew up eating the first noodle world in Alhambra. Now that I'm living in SFV, I go to this Sherman Oaks location. Same great food to fulfill my nostalgia. My favorite dishes are the pad thai and chicken satay sticks. I've always loved their pad thai because it's not too sweet like others and it's great with their pickled green chilies. The chicken satay is a new favorite. It's perfect for parties because the meat is on a stick. I recently ordered party platters from them. It was a great experience that I will do again. I put in the order with one of the workers. Then the day of the pick up, everything was packed and ready for me. They included condiments and everything. Very nice!
