I try not to abuse this place and come here too often and usually save it for special occasions. Something about their thai seafood soup (medium spicy) just sits in your soul so delicately. I always get it with a side of large steam white rice and just pour some broth on it. Never misses a beat. Makes my soul so happy! I've always tried various renditions of their chow mein with either beef, shrimp, straight veggie and it's always so balanced. I find their chow mein unique with a little sweetness, I never get tired of it. Food always comes out quick whether dine in or to go, but they do tend to get some rushes sometimes. It's two-three amazing people always making it happen. It is a slightly small location with very traditional thai art. I haven't been to the Thailand house in a very very long time. 5 or so years! I used to come here regularly around 2 to 3 times a month. We ordered our usual Pad See Ew with tofu, Pad Thai with chicken, Green curry with shrimp, and the chicken satay. Everything was really delicious! The service was horrific. The waitress seemed to be in a bad mood, not only with us, but also with clients that were walking in and ordering eggrolls. She was rude, short in response, and felt bothered that we were ordering. She brought out the food plate by plate within five minutes of each other to where the first plate got cold by the time all four of us had our food. Terrible timing! Did not come around and ask us if we needed anything else during our meal . We asked if there was dessert she said no. We asked if she had mango sticky rice she said no . That night I got sick and ended up throwing up what I had ordered there at the restaurant . It was either her energy or the cooks energy that was absorbed into the food . This was hands-down, the worst experience I've had at a Thai restaurant . I would never go back and I would not recommend this place . read more

I asked if i can have peanuts with it like most THAI places serve it. NO....only with a la carte order. Come on....how much are a few peanuts when the lunch special is $8.50. It was very bland and the little pieces of Chicken were so rock hard it was not the best. The egg roll was like warm and soggy (most likely been sitting for a while) They did RE-make it for me. I've been eating here fairly regularly for a decade. I have *never* eaten on site, though, always picked up my food. There is no delivery option, no modern stuff, just fantastic, solid food, in generous quantities. The yellow and red curries are phenomenal, as is the Pad See Ew, the Pad Thai, and the Shui Mai. And pretty much everything we've had there. Best we've had this side of Chiang Mai, and frankly pretty close to food we had there! Oddly I don't love their Tom Yum Gai, but that's probably the only slight miss I've had there. The physical fine-in location is pretty darned basic, but again, I've never eaten there in person, just went in to pick up food. The lady who runs the place has always been polite to me, and we've never had an issue with an order in 10+ years. I hope they're there for another 10+ years, as they're my favorite Thai restaurant in LA! read more

I was going to another establishment and passed them. When I was done and passed by again, the owner came outside and asked if I wanted a special. I looked at the sign, and he got me. Horrible service, one of the women who works there was extremely rude and disrespectful to my mom. My mom and I have been coming here for years and recently she took my stepdad and he didn't like his fried rice, so they asked them to take it off the bill. We came back again today because like I said, we never had a problem with them until today. It's my mom's birthday and we go in to order, my mom asks for fried rice (which we have ordered at least a dozen times) and the lady loudly denies her and says last time we ordered fried rice we cancelled the order so she wouldn't let us order it again after we have came and enjoyed it numerous times all because they couldn't accept some constructive criticism. Really great pad Thai. The noodles resembled angel hair pasta so it kinda confused me at first but the flavor and texture was perfect! Large portions definitely a sharing plate. And they have me so many large shrimp! I highly recommend it! I still felt uncomfortable about her reaction. She said that altering the dish was not their recipe. That's fine but post it somewhere that there are no special requests. Fresh shredded carrots and a lime wedge to top off my noodles and crispy, flavorful egg rolls with sweet dipping sauce and chili on the side. Yummmm! Happy they are vegetarian friendly! Flavors are really great - not bland, not too salty, perfectly seasoned, mix in the carrots, cabbage, lime, dry chili and peanuts and you've got a great dish! Prices are very reasonable. The Pad Thai noodles are more like chow mein style noodles rather that the original flat noodles ( kinda threw me off ) Still taste like Pad Thai. Very large portion, very tasty, and fair in their price. My favorite is their pad see eww. I have never been disappointed in my order when I get it. I really wanted to love this place. It's so much closer than my favorite Thai place in the valley. I did my normal Yelp search and concluded that the woman leaving a one star was upset that they would not deliver to her apartment complex. There was such a mix of 5 stars and one to two stars. We picked up food for a group of four last week. The food was on time, etc. The place seemed clean and the guy helping us was extremely nice. (Which makes this even harder.) I won't and can't even elaborate on how much I WANTED to even tolerate this place as a stand by Thai restaurant. (Who can screw up rice???) You KNOW the feeling of waiting patiently to get home with that batch of crab cheese won tons (that you U know you should not be having.) That smell is insane and you must reach in and have one before you drive home. Well... didn't sense that from our take out bag. Unfortunately, when we arrived home with our 'food', it did not get any better. When we opened the containers... well, you knew it was not going to be good. When even the rice is bad, you know you have made a bad mistake. It tasted like a little slice of Rice-a-Roni flavoring mixed with two day old rice. SO BAD. All of us sampled the food and no one ate more than a few bites. (Even the more hungry men.) About 15 minutes later, we all could not even think of food. I can only say that greasy and gross is my only thought. It made me feel so bad. I've been going to this place for years. The food overall is good. My favorite is the coconut soup but the chicken is ALWAYS dry. Also, service is kind of bad. The lady who works there is rude. I recently just went to a different Thai place and had the coconut soup with good chicken. They really need to get better chicken that is tender. I have now been going to Awesome Thai!!! Today I ordered pad thai, pad see ew, chicken satay, crab cheese wontons, and mild seafood tom yum soup. ALL amazing but I also recommend the yellow chicken curry and the garlic chicken fried rice. They're very accommodating w their orders so if you politely ask to have something changed or left out of a dish they're more than willing. I've never felt like I was disrespected or left the place feeling bad about the service. When I came in today I called for a pick up and it was just the one man working. The food is really good. This is my first experience with thai food restaurant. The food has a lot of flavor and a good size for there price. It does take while for the food but its worth it. They make the food order and that why it takes a bit to get your food, but again worth the wait to get fresh food. If you like curry I recommend this place.
