Disappointed is an understatement. I used to love Poke Bar, particularly the location in Woodland Hills, but I tried this location out for the first time and I am truly grossed out. I feel bad for leaving a bad review as the older lady working there seemed to be trying her best but the quality and service was terrible. The food quality has gone down astronomically. I ordered my "large" poke bowl online for pick up 30 minutes before I arrived. I thought by then it would be ready. The app said it was ready.. but when I arrived, the lady working said she didn't even know she had an order.. so then I wait in line for 25 mins to get my food. Which looked DISGUSTING and old. Again, I feel bad to leave this review but this all must be said. My bowl turned out to be a soup of sauces and warm fish and old cucumber and hard avocado. I have never had such horrible poke in my life.. I actually was afraid to eat it because the store was extremely warm and muggy inside and my food temperature felt very off. Not to mention the cucumber she gave me... looks like a mixture of old and new batches because she probably ran out. Which is understandable but pretty gross when you can taste the difference of quality. Just tell me you don't have anymore or something. I wish I cancelled my order. I ended up throwing it away because I was too sketched out by the food quality and haphazard energy from the lady running the place. I've tried a lot of poke spots, and this one is hands-down my favorite. I'm not sure if the ownership has changed, but it's actually even better now than the last time I came. The food is always fresh and flavorful--even the octopus, which is not easy to get right. The owners are incredibly friendly and always generous with their portions. Lately, I've been coming at least once a week because it's just that good. Pro tip: get the house sauce, ponzu, and spicy mayo with your bowl. All of their proteins are fresh and delicious, so you really can't go wrong. Just a heads-up--the spicy mayo has a real kick, but the other sauces balance it out perfectly. I was in the area and needed to grab something quick to eat so I came across Poké bar. As I entered I knew it would be a bad idea because the temperature wasn't right in there and didn't seem clean . I stil decided to give it a try. I got a small and they really mean small when they say small. Horrible portion size and the spicy mayo didn't even taste like spicy mayo. I went to Poke Bar for lunch with a coworker because I had loved a different location and wanted them to try it. Since this location was closer to work, we decided to go there. Upon entering, I expected it to be cold, as poke places usually are to keep everything fresh. However, this location wasn't cool at all. There were only two workers, and they were slow and seemed confused. I had to repeat our order several times. My coworker ordered a bulgogi plate after me, but there was confusion when they skipped me and insisted he pay before even starting his meal. That being said, I was not happy that the guy working there wasn't wearing gloves until he mixed the toppings I mean, he was wiping down the counter when I walked in. Came here to pick up a late lunch around 1:30pm, and there was plenty of parking. The place itself was really quiet - actually, I wish they would play some background music at the least because it felt almost awkward to be standing there waiting in line lol. Looks like they serve milk and fruit teas now (boba is free with purchase of any size bowl), which would be a nice option if I was also craving a drink. Portion sizes were good and lots of different options for toppings. Docking off a star because some of the greens in my mixed salad were old and wilted, but otherwise proteins and toppings looked like good quality. They have your usual choices like salmon, tuna, albacore, scallops, octopus, but also a spicy and regular premixed tuna. I tried the regular premixed tuna and while it wasn't bad, I think I'll stick to a regular fish next time since I liked it mixed in with the toppings and sauce. I stopped by the Poke bar in Encino because my veterinarian office is near by. I was hangry and needed to put something in my stomach. To my surprise it was very delicious!!! I entered the establishment to a cool 70 degree shop and was greeted with smiles. I ordered the large poke bowl and boy was it huge!!!! I thanked the employee to only find out it was one of the new owners!!! She informed me that they just recently took over and it has been a an uphill battle with the previous owner and what he left them. I love how the location is busy but there is always seating inside and parking in the center they're located in. The seafood is always fresh and the service is quick. The blended tea wasn't available today but the owner made an exception for me and that was much appreciated and my tea was delicious. A small plate comes with two choices of protein and one scoop of rice and is reasonably priced at $9.95 which is what I have bought today. I love poke bar and love seeing it open new locations!!! Finding some good quality fish can often be inconvenient and expensive in LA, so poke shops are really heroes!! I've tried a lot of poke in my life and poke bar consistently has good quality fish with the fun of adding as many toppings as you want!! I love poke bar since you have so may options to choose from, even from choosing your base (brown rice, white rice, salad) to choosing from a variety of fish (my favorite fish are salmon, tuna, and albacore but like to choose whichever fish look the freshest that day). Poke bar is cool because there are so many options for toppings. The first part is mostly veggies and you can choose an unlimited amount of toppings, including cucumbers, onions, green onions, cilantro, etc. The second part, you can only choose 2/3 between seaweed salad, crab salad, and cucumber salad (though if you get cucumbers already in the first part, there's not too much reason to get cucumber salad again). Avocado is extra. You can also choose dry toppings like furikake, fried onion, fried garlic and sauces as well including their house sauce, spicy mayo. Poke bar stopped offering eel sauce at several of their locations which is a bummer, but their bowls are still super delicious without it. read more

I've been to Poke Bar before and I'm surprised I never reviewed! I know that almost everyone at my work loves poke so I decided to research on places that cater. Most of us favor 8oz Poke in Sherman Oaks but they do not cater :( Out of all the other poke spots surrounding Encino, only Poke Bar was able to accommodate catering. I called their store and an associate transferred me to their corporate office. I forget who I spoke with specifically but he explained the options to me and then his team member Renee emailed me their catering menu with clear instructions. It's fairly simple... pick two bases, two items from their signature recipes (we chose Firecracker and Original Salmon), two sides and whichever toppings. It's nice because their signature recipes already come with sauces and sides mixed in. Renee was quick to respond and was very professional. The food came on time but I wish the order was packaged better. The trays weren't even in bags so Jason, the guy delivering the order, and I had to make several trips to and from the car. Not a big deal but it would just make it easier on their lives and for the customer to have big bags or a cooler of some sort for bigger orders. Our order was for 25 people. I called in today at 1pm and they said they are out of salmon and cutting more and it will take 30 MINUTES. 30 MINUTES TO CUT SALMON during the well known busy lunch hours? I appreciated your response to my review but you still need new management. That's the 4th extra try I've given poké bar after the company assured me they worked everything out. --------------- Update: RIDICULOUS I go again to give them another chance and the salmon is frozen. Really??? I drive out of the way to come for lunch but not any more. Horrible location. -------------------- Update: This place was better before but for the last few months I've had issues. They've been out of ingredients. Low staffed at lunch time. Found hair in my food. Once I came in and they had no salmon, cucumbers, cilantro, or green onions. That's basically half the menu. Ordered Poke Bar on Uber Eats a few times and it was pretty solid, but the last time was not so great. I requested wasabi mayo (still on the online menu) and when my order came, it didn't have it on. There was a note saying "Wasabi mayo discontinued." The bowl was thus lacking a lot of flavor, sauce, and creaminess that comes from the mayo. They didn't even call to see if I would want spicy mayo instead, which is my usual order. It was pretty hard to get through the whole bowl when it was missing a lot of flavor in my opinion. Overall the quality is decent, prices are a bit high, and it seems like they might be a little lazy with online order customer service. read more
