Honestly I'm a bit baffled by the negative reviews. Yeah it's def not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination but I actually think their dishes are pretty good and reasonably priced (although the protein add-ons are insane). Most noodle bowls are around $7-8 and are definitely a solid meal sized portion. The pad Thai and the spicy Korean noodles are my favourites. Their side Caesar salad is a nice healthy-ish add on for $2.75. Service is unexceptional but adequate. They do a decent job with app orders in terms of prepping and ensuring that bags include napkins and cutlery. There is soy sauce and hot sauce available. There's plenty of seating and it seems to be clean every time I go in. Not a bad option for a quick cheap lunch! read more

I figured I may as well eat my food anyway, not inside the restaurant of course, so I took my macaroni and cheese to go. There was a singular fork in the bag, no plastic wrap, and there was no forks available for customers to grab and go, so I had to resort to chopsticks for my mac. When I was back in my car, it was finally time to eat. The mac was mediocre at best. It was basically drowning in cheese. But seriously, if anyone in charge of this Noodles & Company is reading this, please do something about the roaches. That is unacceptable. read more

I've been coming to this Noodles and Company since high school. It used to be the spot to go to with my friends when I was 16 and now as I'm 26 it's kind of a quick pasta craving place. I've tried everything on the menu. And when I say everything, I mean everything! I'm a huge pasta fan so you could imagine at 16 this was a dream come true. The prices have risen over the years, considering a large bowl used to be $5 and now its $7, but I guess that's the economy for you! My favorite pasta dish I would say is either the pesto cavatappi or the Mac and cheese. Both of which you get huge portions of so it is 100% worth the money! If I don't want that much cheese I'll get the pesto with a side of mac and cheese. If I'm being honest, this used to be the best place in the world. Now that my palette has grown, the pasta is still awesome. Nothing you get here will be amazing, but all of it will be good and most likely very fast. For $7 it's a steal. read more

When I politely pointed out that this wasn't what we ordered, he began arguing with me--right in front of my twins. Despite my attempt to diffuse the situation by saying 'thank you,' he continued to argue as he walked away, eventually saying he would remake the dish. The shop was not busy, and it genuinely felt like he was more interested in arguing than resolving the issue. This was deeply disappointing and unlike anything I've ever experienced in terms of customer service. I cannot recommend this location at all. In contrast, the Washtenaw location has always provided us with excellent customer care. I would appreciate a resolution to this matter, as this level of service is unacceptable. read more

It may aid one choosing an entree but the ramen choices just seem limited to me. My dishes were always fine, the ramen is cooked well but nothing distinctive or delicious. I was in Ann Arbor for homecoming and decided I had to have the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese that used to be my favorite item here back when I was regularly strolling through these streets. Had a great experience here, and am surprised by the low ratings this location has received. My food arrived promptly, the staff was friendly, and indeed the macaroni and cheese was as good as ever. We sat by the window on the first floor watching the traffic go by on State Street. While it would have been nicer to sit outside, that is really nitpicking here. Downtown Ann Arbor is lucky to have a quick and easy Noodle fix. This location fills up with college students. It has ample seating with a second floor and bath. Mac and Cheese: Is my go to. As expected I give it 4 1/2 stars. They are generous with the cheese and it makes it extra yummy! Marinara Spaghetti w/out MeatBalls: is surprisingly savory. I give this 4 1/2 stars. Upkeep and Maintenance: Trash cans were overwhelmed. Bathrooms were trashed. Tables weren't bussed. Lacking spoons, knives, and extra. Lacking staff? Not sure. read more

This Noodles has been here for a long time, I remember coming here during the end of freshman year of college (2006) so it's been at least 11-12 years. We stopped in today for a quick lunch during the Cinetopia Film Festival. I had a coupon for a free app, so I ordered the potstickers. They said they could only give me the small size, but I said that other locations give me the larger size (true), so they gave me that one. Of course they're not going to be authentic, but they will be satisfying. Simple dishes, simple flavors -- simply satisfying. Try the Asian pan noodles with beef. I would like to take you all through a journey. It's not a pleasant one, and it certainly isn't a pretty one. Our group of eight walks into this establishment, and there's not a particularly long wait. Nothing appears to be wrong. However, it is once we get to the cashier that the visit goes awry. "Yeah, I just tell it like it is. If someone doesn't like it, they can leave." "Oh, I'm just p e a c h y." "I f***ing hate this." One doesn't anticipate these words coming from the person taking his or her orders. What one expects even less is to have the number marker thrown across the table to the floor. Or to have said cashier to continually complain about his job to the customers he's serving. Not the best start to this Noodles and Co. experience. However, it unfortunately hasn't ended. Thirty minutes in, and two members of our group have not received their food, there have been three dishes that none of us ordered brought to our tables, and most of what food we did have was cold. The hits just don't stop coming, do they? I could go on, like how the cashier said to one of us he was about to quit, or how there was Mac and cheese in the spaghetti, or there was spaghetti in the Mac and cheese, but I think what I have described thus far illustrates the point clearly enough. read more

I really struggle on how to rate this place. It has a huge variety of pasta for fast food-ish prices. I rather like their Wisconsin Mac and Cheese, Beef Stroganoff and their Pad Thai (better than No Thai to me!) Their Pasta Fresca is decent too. However, their service is pretty up and down. Sometimes I go in and feel almost yelled at, other times I feel so warmly embraced and helped out. Most recently, I ordered to-go and waited a full 21 min after ordering before I reminded them of my order for the second time. Only then did they realize I'd been waiting forever for a dish that they'd served up to other customers who had ordered later than me. (I know as by that time, I'd taken to eyeing every order that was announced the kitchen). The staff apologized profusely at that point, and gave me some B1G1 coupons. However, the consistency of service matters for me, especially if I'm using this place as my fast to-go dinner on those days I need to save time to do other things! I noticed other people who ordered to-go waiting in frustration and having to go up and ask about their orders too. I have always been a fan of noodles in general, and this location was no exception. Sadly I came today for the absolute worst dining experience that has ever occurred. Despite years of patronizing this restaurant I will never return to this location. I ordered a simple dish, the Spicy Peanut Saute. There were several employees working and not too many customers. 15 minutes later (which is far longer than I've ever waited) I came down and asked what was going on with my dish. I was told they were very busy (false, I could see the screen and there were no active orders) and heard someone tell the cook to start making the dish. He said it would take another 15 minutes at which point I said I don't want it. Then I was told he was joking and it would be out shortly.....7 minutes later the food still wasn't ready so I went and asked for $ back. At this point a short chubby bearded guy in a polo (he wouldn't give name so I am describing) came out and fumbled with the cash register without apologizing. I pointed out it had been over 20 minutes and asked for an explanation, he just stared at me. I then asked for the General Manager's number and was told the short chubby guy was the general manager. I then asked him what took so long and he just stared at me, finally slurring that they didn't have staff (false, they had 6 employees standing around). He didn't say anything else, and genuinely appeared to be high. The cooks in the kitchen had no initiative either. Bad tone at the top leads to horrible results. I hope corporate follows up on this and addresses the poor performance of their GM, or I will not be returning. read more

For a chain fast-ish food restaurant, this place is top notch, or at least it was on my recent visit. The staff were universally friendly, from the gentleman who took my order to the young woman who bussed my table - smiles and general conviviality aplenty. My food was free (the best price ever) with a coupon I'd received through the online customer club, which resulted in me trying their new seasonal item - the asparagus pesto pasta primavera. So tasty! The asparagus had a good flavor and worked well with the mildly pesto-tasting sauce, and the fresh, crunchy spinach greens provided nice contrast. The best part (aside from it being free...) was that they served me my food on a ceramic plate with stainless steel silverware. The meal thus generated very little waste. This makes sense from both an environmental and cost perspective, and adds a touch of class to the meal, as did my excellent seat in the quiet upstairs area. Keep up the good work, Noodles! An enthusiastic three stars. Go there if you're in the mood for an affordable, enjoyable casual meal from a socially-responsible business. read more

Fast and fresh noodles, like a McDonald's style but they bring the food to your table. They guarantee that they will cook your dish in 5 minutes or less, for takeout or dine-in. I think they added delivery for some locations. No tipping accepted which is nice. Not much to say, it's not upscale or complicated, just simple pasta like mac and cheese when you want some. It sucks that they discontinued their rewards program with the punch card. I still keep coming here though, it's better than you might think. Always a hot meal to enjoy. Surprised by the people who knock Noodles & Company. Very surprised. For $10 you can get a filling meal. Portions are big There is a lot of variety on the menu. Every dish tastes fresh and has a mix of flavors. It's fast. It's cheap. You like meat? You like tofu? Both are available and the tofu is $$$ but it's well cooked and adds to the meal. You like mac and cheese? It's here and it's good. You like curries? They have a couple varieties that are different and delicious. Sick of the same old noodles? They have so many choices. Pan noodles, rice noodles, penne (with spinach, wine, cream sauce), egg noodles (with butter and parmesan). A simple salad or soup? Well you have about four of each to choose from (I love the thai curry soup and the tomato soup). They also do a great job with posting nutritional information and listing dishes that are vegetarian or could be made vegetarian. It's great to have this on campus for a quick lunch or dinner. I really prefer the Arborland location, but this one is convenient to many of my weekly errands, so that's what keeps me coming to this one. I love the chain's policies of paying the staff a decent wage, so no tipping, and that all staff are trained in all tasks. The food is always a good quality and portion, especially relative to the price. They've got a detailed allergy menu, and several options for all common dietary restrictions, from soy allergy and celiac, too veg*n, and they're at least transitioning their meat options to free range / grass fed small - farm sources. Excellent! This location, though, has a lot of the problems that a lot of campus - adjacent businesses in Ann Arbor have: The service is only decent, at its best. They seem to have a staff that, not including the managers, is almost entirely U of Michigan students who either are just barely trained well - enough to do their job mostly-right, or they just don't care enough to do it right. There is a high staff turn-around, and I'm constantly feeling rushed, at this location, and only the managers recognise me, even though I'm here two to three times a month (on average). Some of the most glaring problems with this location that have stood out, when compared to other campus - adjacent businesses are as follows: * an average of every other visit, the kitchen line messes up my order, in some way. From soy sauce accompanying pot stickers in spite of a clear indication on my receipt and ticket that I told them of my soy allergy, to a missing substitution, missing meat, and so on. *I'm a transgender customer, and on one occasion, the employee at tge register outed my legal name to the customers behind me, (because it's what's on my bank card), in spite of no policy to do so. *while management always offers coupons to make up for every screw-up, one time it took about four weeks, three phone calls, and eventually actually coming back into the store to receive them (when previously, they had always been sent to my P.O.Box ), just to get them. While I love the food, I don't love this location. There is almost always a problem, of some sort, and I'm basing this on about two years experience with this location (I've been in and out of this area for 20 years, and remember when this spot sold art supplies). If you need a cheap and hearty meal in a pinch, especially if you have no restrictions, it's a good choice, especially for the budget conscious . If you want a pleasant, low-stress casual dining experience, awesome well-trained, and conscious and courteous staff, or just love the chain, go to Arborland -- just save yourself the hassle of eating campus - adjacent and go to Arborland. read more

You know, that guy. Noodles&Co is that "friend". Sometimes this "friend" scores some sweet deals that make hanging out more tolerable. Simply don't bother. I ordered a salad with soup on the side online. I went to the store and paid for my food at the register. When I got my meal, I checked the bag to make sure everything was there. It wasn't. I went back to the woman who checked me out and she simply refused to make eye contact with me. So, I yelled over the counter at the people working behind her to let them know I had not received the soup I paid for. Someone assured me that they would get it right away, but all of the employees kept working on new orders before getting my soup (how hard is soup??). It took about 5 minutes for someone to get the soup and bag it up. I am now home and just found out that they also forgot to give me a fork, spoon, or MY SALAD DRESSING. No dressing on the salad or in the bag. If you *must* go here, at least eat at the restaurant so that when you realize they forgot your fork, spoon, soup, or salad dressing, you can just go back to the counter and get it. read more

The soda machine wasn't draining pop, water, ice where running all over the floor this place was disgusting. My daughter ordered noodles with pesto. It was noodles with a glop of pesto not even mixed up. I have eaten noodles and company for years, never had a problem until we walked in this dump.
