Spicy Peanut Saute

I've been coming to this Noodles and Company since high school. It used to be the spot to go to with my friends when I was 16 and now as I'm 26 it's kind of a quick pasta craving place. I've tried everything on the menu. And when I say everything, I mean everything! I'm a huge pasta fan so you could imagine at 16 this was a dream come true. The prices have risen over the years, considering a large bowl used to be $5 and now its $7, but I guess that's the economy for you! My favorite pasta dish I would say is either the pesto cavatappi or the Mac and cheese. Both of which you get huge portions of so it is 100% worth the money! If I don't want that much cheese I'll get the pesto with a side of mac and cheese. If I'm being honest, this used to be the best place in the world. Now that my palette has grown, the pasta is still awesome. Nothing you get here will be amazing, but all of it will be good and most likely very fast. For $7 it's a steal.

Pasta... featuring the wad of hair I found in my lunch.

I ordered lunch here today. Brought it back to my office and discovered a WAD OF HAIR in my bowl. Thankfully I found it before I took many bites. I tried to call the location, but it goes to a robotic answering machine where you cannot even leave a message. I don't have time to drive back to the location to get a replacement or complain, nor do I really want a new pasta bowl after opening mine to this.. thoroughly disappointed and upset that there isn't even a person to speak to about my situation or about getting a refund. Oh and on top of that. My coworker and I ordered online, it was supposed to be ready before we got there... it was not ready for another 20 minutes. I contacted corporate, but only to get another voicemail. Will see if they get back to me.

Wisconsin Mac & Cheese

It had been a long time since I'd been to a Noodles & Company. I was in Ann Arbor for homecoming and decided I had to have the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese that used to be my favorite item here back when I was regularly strolling through these streets. Had a great experience here, and am surprised by the low ratings this location has received. My food arrived promptly, the staff was friendly, and indeed the macaroni and cheese was as good as ever. We sat by the window on the first floor watching the traffic go by on State Street. While it would have been nicer to sit outside, that is really nitpicking here. I would definitely return if in the mood.

We enjoy the liveliness of sitting in the bar/lounge area and tonite we were able to get a nice table. It is always hard to choose as they have a diverse menu of options. My wife ordered the Spaghetti Estivi: House made spaghetti tossed with fresh zucchini, yellow squash, Parmesan, shallots and crumbled bacon in a creamy lemon ricotta sauce. Finished with toasted pine nuts. The flavors were very good, fresh, rich and creamy. Portion was generous. I had the Chicken Parmesan: pan fried chicken breasts, mozzarella cheese served with angel hair pasta. The chicken was cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful as was the angel hair pasta. If you're in Ann Arbor, craving Italian, we would recommend checking them out. Service was excellent, as it always is.

The clientele is always older folks, and it definitely has a kind of 90s Italian restaurant vibe, but the food is great, service is legit, and the prices aren't bad for what you get. My favorites so far have been: - Rigatoni and Country Greens - Papardelle (seasonal with sausage, peas, mushrooms, pecorino) - Roasted apple and fig salad - A seasonal bruschetta thing with pears and burrata Their desserts are solid, so far we haven't had anything incredible. I wish their tiramisu was out of this world (it's our favorite), but it's not the best I've had. (Needs more espresso, was kind of dry). The chocolate mousse was good, but much more dense/thick than expected. Their cocktails are solid and they have a nice wine list, including a fun alcohol-removed sparkling wine that I've enjoyed twice now. This is becoming a staple when we just want a nice meal out since we live nearby. Good place to take family or folks from out of town if you don't want to bother booking somewhere that gets super busy or dealing with downtown parking/traffic.

We truly enjoyed our dinner: in the appetizer, escargot, the pastry was fluffy, and the snails had just the right amount of butter, garlic, and herbs; the whitefish in beurre blanc was tender, delicate, and mouthwatering; Delmonico steak was juicy and perfectly grilled; the lamb chops were perfectly sautéed in port tarragon sauce. We finished our fantastic dinner with the skillfully prepared raspberry almond cake and chocolate Chambord mousse. To celebrate our happy event, the restaurant offered us the complementary drinks and 2 gift certificates toward our next visit. The joyful atmosphere was enhanced by a talented trio of jazz musicians who created a unique ambiance for our soirée. It was a marvelous experience. We cannot wait to come back. I highly recommend it!
